I always thought of Converse as really cringe on men regardless of age and you know when I was young they were very popular. Sneakers in general I associate with really effeminate dumpy guys that get cold easily. I don’t think I’ve found a pair that aren’t subtly off-putting on a grown man.

as with literally every piece of clothing, it depends on how you look. i will literally never be able to associate converse shoes with anything other than twinks or women, so personally i find it out of place if you’re neither.

I wear them but I think my New Balances look better if I’m going to be wearing sneakers. If I don’t want to wear sneakers but will be doing a lot of walking I like to wear Salomon shoes.

shouldn’t you have discovered a shred of self-worth by that point and just wear what you like and not care too much what everyone else is thinking? There are occasions where you NEED to look presentable, but that’s what formal clothes are for…
converse sneaker has been around for 100 or so years, so yes, it’s okay to wear them as an old person. No, it’s not okay to care what youngsers are thinking cause they’ll look 10x worse when they’ll be your age thanks to microplastics and shit.

White are the only acceptable colour. Any other colour just contrasts with the white toe cap and looks either childish or clown-like.

    100% yes.
They look like larp trash on people over 30. The VP of sales at my company wears them and they look like full on ‘henlo fellow kids’ tier every time. It’s like those absolutely dried out 40 year old dudes riding around on BMX bikes, just looks like someone who got stunted years ago and is stuck forever.

you can’t really pass any judgement until you see the whole fit. Sure, if you’re wearing a whole skater setup and pin-rolled denim to show off the high-tops, yeah… But if you wear a muted outfit, like a black work jacket, chinos, white t-shirt, classic low-tops – it’s an entirely different story. This is why these threads are kinda pointless without context.

what are similar but not as manchild twinkie?
please nothing that is the exact same material and construction but 10x more.

They only look bad if everything else is sloppy or childish. If your clothing is basically mature, then it can make chucks look good.
