No, in fact it's necessary for exaltation in the celestial Kingdom

Why do you need multiple wives?

Just to fornicate different women to fulfill vain carnal desires

    The phrasing tells you everything

what if its not to fulfill vain carnal desires?

        Explain how that would happen

The only possibility is that there’s 2 women and you’re the only man around

If there’s 2 men and 2 women there is no reason for you to hoard the resources so you have both women, thats immoral (and is heavily criticized in the Old Testament)

I'm talking about if it doesnt affect anything, i just get a second wife and nobody's hurt. Is that a sin?

You’re leaving someone without a wife just so you can have two

It’s like taking away food from the hungry saying “well, I have to eat something in the future… and this belongs to me”

It doesn’t belong to you (in Bible context), for we are foreigners (“be as birds”) in this land that belongs to God

Polygamy should be combined with missionary efforts.
You can have 1 believing wife, but any additional wives you need to convert. This way you don't cuck your fellow believers.

Why would you need a pagan wife?, let someone who doesn’t have a wife and wants to convert one do it

So that the world can have more good God fearing children and less heathen children.
Would you rather more kids go to hell?

Uhhh… a grown woman who chooses sin is different from a kid that hasn’t been taught those ways yet

            You realize that?

            Anonymous

1 pagan converted and wifed = 1 womb out of commission for the unbelievers.
The net result of such polygamy is less kids going to hell, +1 woman saved.

There is no afterlife heaven or hell, anon

Those that choose wicked ways and don’t repent out of their own heart simply can’t live among those who want to follow scripture, it’s that simple

The change has to begin in yourself, the rest can be taught

Okay then don't mind if I have as many wives as I like. Easy.

I don’t mind, just don’t cry if those who follow scripture one day decide it’s been enough sin and it’s time for justice

I got scriptures of my own.
Plus, scriptural believers (of any variety) are today the overwhelming minority compared to completely secular tolerant modernists. After gay marriage, it's only a matter of time until polygamy is formally legal, in every spiritual sense it already is.

OT figures had multiple wives lol

      > According to one view, Abraham remarried after the death of Sarah and had a total of three wives: Sarah, Hagar, and Keturah. Another tradition identifies Keturah with Hagar, and thus Abraham married only twice. Each of these views finds Scriptural support for its position: the three-wife opinion relies on Gen.

“Moses” didn’t have a second wife, it’s a metaphor to say he was caring more for other place instead of the Israelites
      > In this case, the Cushite was Moses' second wife, whether after Zipporah or simultaneously is not clear. However, Cush was also a designation for part of Midian (Albright: 205, n. 49).

It’s obvious it’s a metaphor when you know the context, that’s why I had to post that’s it’s also the name of a place

Because you were obviously so ignorant that I knew you were gonna say “hurrr the metaphor excuse” even though it lines up with the whole Old Testament (in rules and locations)

It’s not my fault you’re moronic and unable to have abstract thoughts

There are extensive regulations about polygamy in the Laws/Kings

If polygamy is bad then why does God tell King David that if he didn't kill Uriah to cuck him he'd have given him more and more wives?
    Samuel 12:8
    >8 And I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.

Wives (when talking about leaders/kings) means territory

David was unjust and thus people didn’t want him to rule over them

Except in that excerpt God identifies David's wives and David's titles in separately in specific literal terms. "Wives" is most definitely not a metaphor for territory in Samuel's prophecy, it means what it says.
        >and thy master's wives into thy bosom
        > and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah
Had David been righteous God would have given him even more wives, how then can God condemn polygamy if he uses it to reward his righteous followers?

but if i have more resources and the other guy barely has any to take care of the wife, she'd be better off with me no? Cause thats how it worked, women wanted to be with the man with the most resources even if it meant him having multiple wives
