Is engine degreaser fricking useless? I got some and it barely got anything off compared to brake cleaner. Mayne not something you all have a strong opinion about but I dont see the point of this.

"Quickly removes dirt, dust and road grime"
That stuff is basically normal soap.
This is the stuff you want
>brake cleaner
unless it's like the block itself, I wouldn't spray that stuff anywhere near my engine with all the plastics, painted surfaces, and connectors. I got some on my screwdriver while I was cleaning intake valves the other day and it literally melted the handle.
>Just use a $17 bottle of cleaner or two to clean your engine
Get a load of Mr Moneybags here
it's all just varying concentrations of all purpose cleaners. engine degreaser usually just means a higher concentration of soap to water compared to, say, an interior cleaner
IIRC isn't it mainly just sodium laureth sulphate?
that's just an agent for foaming/suds, completely unrelated to cleaning
It's literally the actual soap chemical in most soaps. Not just car soaps, ALL soaps. It most definitely does clean.
lol look at the ingredient list of nearly every hand soap. its how they clean
some of the more hippie oriented soaps dont use that though
>foaming/suds
>completely unrelated to cleaning
Gotta use a warm water pressure washer with that shit. Brake cleaner dissolves plastic, rubber and your brains so you dont want to use that very much. Oddly enough, soibean oil spray also dissolves grease, but careful cause animals might want to taste the residue of that shit
Solid response
Use this OP
Buy the gallon jugs and a chemical spray bottle instead.
A steam cleaner also makes quick work after degreasing.
The new aircraft stripper is shit now cuz EPA rules.
>not making your own
It's fricking DCM and methanol. You can get that shit on amazon.
I was told Ultra is almost as good as the old stuff
Engine dirt is like smegma. It's actually healthy. Just leave it alone.
yeah well you dont work on your wiener, you just crank it till it stops working.
use oven cleaner
My rule of thumb for cleaning "hidden" areas:
>if it doesn't come off with a damp rag then it's not meant to come off
I use this shit, very strong, but I don't know if it's sold anywhere but the country I live in.

Amazing job.
Use a strong detergent like Simple Green or
VOCs evaporate too quickly to cut through thick grease, so a soap/detergent will work the best. Spray some on the grime, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse with water. Works really well for brake dust too.
pepboys sells it.
You have been using bit wrong product, this what you should use.
>Gunk Instant parts cleaner& degreaser.
Second alternative.
>CRC parts cleaner°reaser pro.
Seriously soibean oil spray is top quality degreaser. It just mixes with the congealed grease and then you have low viscosity oil that can be blasted away with pressure or wiped away with a rag. Isopropyl alcohol Also works on some types of grease.
I just use varying concentrations of sulphuric acid for every cleaning problem. Just make your own
>1 large glass jar
>1 12v power source like an old charger
>1 copper rod
>1 lead rod(or whatever)
>.5kg of copper sulphate from any pool store(it kills algae too)
>make a saturated solution of copper sulphate distilled water
>put solution into glass jar
>hook positive to lead side
>neg to copper side
Fun with electrolysis begins!
Let sit till copper rod is covered with blobs of copper(from the copper sulphate).
Now you have ~80% concentrated sulphuric acid!
Boil down to remove any water left & increase acid concentration.
Store in plastic or glass container.
Try not to spill on a troonys face as you clean your neighborhood.
