I was trying to get into that field...
Is cybersecurity going to be automated?

Defense is going to be automated, heck it already is. But black hats are always going to find a way.
Well if thats the case won't they still need white hat hackers ?
>white hat
>white
Obsoleted.
If black hat hackers still find a way then white hackers will still be needed.
Not anymore, chud. Get replaced.
Your not making any sense anon. If hackers are able to use AI to get around AI generated security then there will still be humans on the other side of things. Also there are physical roles in cyber security a lot of the times cyber security attacks are done on physical locations by people connecting to a network or database.
Indeed anon its a mood for sure
The world has no place for any more whities. Get replaced, get fucked and get lost you fucking racist pig.
Whether whites get replaced or not you will still be a street shitter.
More streets for me to shit on without you white racists.
just want to let you know that it was painful to see how long it took the other anon catch onto the joke you were making
that pic really got to me
same here. I think I'll just become an hero before I give them the satisfaction of forcing me to supplant my humanity and become the psychopathic meat-robot they're trying to make me (no other way to make money these days).
if you really think that they will automate cybersecurity then ur a fucking idiot
last commercial web vulnerability scanner i used couldn't even properly fuzz a url
and when it comes to priv esc its a whole different ball game:
yeah theoretically you could automate winpeas/linpeas -> cve exploit
BUT that shit doesnt work half the time and it would definitely end up frequently causing data loss and/or breaking the server
TL;DR information security is resistant to automation (unless ur a skiddy doing nmap scans)
How did you get into the field through IT or CS? Rn I am working some shit help desk job.
you could start by working the graveyard shift as a SOC analyst
it would pay more than help desk, but would burn you out and probably kill any motivation to self-study
there are more paths but that is probably the easiest and most direct
if you have an interest in the field then just start doing CTFs
also see >
I'm entering it with 9 years of IT experience functioning primarily as a sysadmin. Get your security+ and a cloud cert and you'll be in pretty high demand. Get in touch with recruiters. Major bonus!
no i think cybersecurity will still exist, if anything ai is encouraging more black hat hackers. how can an ai make a system 100% secure, it can't, at some point there will be failure and black hats will find a way.
also, think from the business's perspective. are people really going to trust machines with their sensitive and irreplaceable data? maybe eventually, but not right now.
No because humans find the most creative ways to do unimaginably stupid shit. I once worked with a client who said they segmented their network by creating a separate guest SSID. Only problem is that it was on the same VLAN as everything else, configured with no password or captive portal. Another said they use a password manager internally and when I asked which one they showed me their Passwords.xls on the public share drive.
everything will be automated. good luck poorfag negros, I already made enough to retire comfortably while watching the world burn
Cybersecurity already has been automated for 2 decades now. Your jebs aren't going anywhere. Actually automation will benefit security experts by making their jobs easier by offloading some of the work.
I really wish someone would piss on chat gpt servers so retarded journalists would stfu up AuToMatiON TakinNG JeBS.
>Bitdefender already uses A.I. to detect malware.
>AVs have existed for a long time
