want to get a leather jacket but they’re such a heavy investment and i am worried about wasting money on a jacket that won’t look good on me. when i see people in them they either look amazing or terrible with almost no in-between.

They used to be a lot cooler. I own one and honestly….regret it. To many try hards are wearing them these days. It’s babys first fashion statement.

people need to stop buying motorcycle jackets. they rarely are pulled off, and rarely look natural. always looks like some dude TRYING TOO HARD to look cool.

You tell me I’m gonna drop a grand on something that people will laugh at me for?

Honestly they wont be impressed and you will look like a bit of a try hard. I wish this wasn’t the case but i get mired a lot more in a 3 stripe adidas jacket than my leather jacket. I spent $400 on mine and yeah, knew within a couple wears that it was a mistake.

Don’t know if I’d go for some big bad moto jacket (wouldn’t suit my style as I don’t even ride a motorcycle) I really do want a nice leather jacket though, normies be damned. I’d probably have to try a couple to see which cut would suit me

      >go to H&M or some other mid range fashion store
      >find fake leather jacket for 60-90 bucks
      >wear it and try to style it
      >if you like it buy something more expensive later

      christ you people are dumb

it’s the best way to know if you’d look good in one. normies don’t care. unless you dress exclusively to impress /fashion/gs.

but how are you supposed to look good in something that looks like shit no matter what
you’re going to look in the mirror and say "eww" even before you go outside, there’s no correlation to a decent jacket here.

this is just bad advice and you’re a fool.

You’re not looking at the material, Einstein. You’re looking at the lapels or the asymmetrical zipper or the coin pocket or the epaulets (if it has them) or the belt (if it has one) and seeing if you like it and how it looks on you. Then you close your eyes and imagine if it was made of actual leather instead of polyurethane. You CAN imagine things when you close your eyes, right anon-kun?

Anon, what’s the name of that one? I’d love a deep burgundy leather jacket like that, especially if it’s made of a super strong horsehide so I can keep it for the rest of my life

Why does it look like the kind of leather that’ll shred itself if i try to clean it with a piece of cloth and water?

Too oily looking. Like a sweaty horse rump. I’d probably like it in a matte finish though, the colour is lovely.

I hecking hate how expensive a decent leather coat is. You need to either spend a month’s wages to get one, put yourself into debt, or just have a bunch of expendable income.

The only thing you should ever pay off is a car or a house. If a coat coasts a month’s pay for you, then it is too expensive for you. End of story. Just forget buying a coat like that until you make more money.
