why the hell do you care if it's bad or not

i dunno, i want to have fun but i don't wanna make any longterm bad decisions i guess

I just write slurs on myself with sharpie instead

      sounds boring

longterm you will have scars for life. that's all.

i mean i'm already a tranny so a couple of scars can't be a huge deal, plus i think they look cute in all honesty. i don't think i'd cut that deep though.

doesn't matter. they will scab and itch and crack even while you sleep.

As an iqsexual it actually gives me great pleasure. It gets my self harm out of the way, and it gives me sexual gratification, due to it satisfying my love to be abused. I don't write only slurs I also do artwork, primarily all over my torso. And no scars so it's superior to cutting. God I just need someone to spit on my and call me names then hold and caress me afterwards.

you'll scar if it's deeper, really deep you'll need stitches on cuts and deeper you can do nerve damage
you probably wouldn't do more than scratch though so whatever you'll just look like you have an itch

okay thanks, i probably won't get crazy with it at all so i don't think it'll get that bad.

i mean it can't itch forever, no?

yeah, just look up aftercare if you're worried. It's kinda easy to get wormy looking scars if you're not attentive with some

go for these kinds of cuts, you'll get the blood you want and it isn't deep at all .

I have multiple gnarly scars on my body, why would you want them? I have palm scars, knee scars, chest scars, thigh scar, abdomen scar, knuckle scar, foot scar. All from random accidents over the years. I don't like how they look but I can't get rid of them so I live with them.

i don't really want the scars but i wouldn't mind as long as they're not severe like that. i just want the blood

Cutting is super bad because it's super addictive, the problem isn't small scars or w/e is that as you do it more and more you feel the need and have the confidence to go harder to feel better. And then eventually you'll cut yourself super hard and really damage yourself or kill yourself. Also it means you won't bother to learn how to deal with your emotions in a more responsible way

    Highly reccomend against it

is it really that addictive? i think my self control is pretty good for the most part. i'm also not particularly depressed at the moment.

The problem is that it'll hit you when you're weakest if you start doing it, anytime you start having negative emotions you'll become more and more overwhelmed with a feeling of needing to self harm, which if you're in a poor emotional state you're very likely to do.

It's hard to quantify how addictive it is but if you look at pics it's very rarely just a few cuts, and if you look on forums or even on here about how much people self that do, it's generally A LOT

i guess you have a point. i wouldn't want to not be able to control it but right now it feels pretty tempting anyways from a boredom perspective.

one time i wanted to know if i'd be able to kill myself with a knife if i got to the point of suicidal desperation, and so i tried cutting a little bit just to see if i could do it
the skin didn't break even when i pushed so hard that i was worried i'd actually injure myself proper so i gave up

sounds rough, anon. personally i don't think i'd use a knife. glad you're alright though.

when I used to cut it wasn't even that serious but I still have tons of super obvious scars on my wrists and comical places like that 7 years later after trying scar cream and everything
it fits my emo aesthetic tho

      sounds cute tbf

scars arent necessarily for life , but its undeniably very addictive. i was cutting myself up until about 8 months ago and i honestly thought that i was just doing it for my own enjoyment. Now im clean (i stopped after losing the reason to do it) and i dont have a good reason or time to start again, but it still excites me looking at my scars, seeing the empty space , and i generally still wish and dream of relapsing. I look forward to when im miserable again. Still, i plan on being clean for now but i get close to relapsing late at night. thats me , anyway.

nice digits. some of what people are saying so far sounds promising but the addiction part is concerning i won't lie.

Why don't you draw butterflies on your silky smooth skin instead you absolute princess.

      nah i'm not that cute

i have many, many self-harm scars on my body that have healed to the point where they are the same color as my skin... but in recent years when i've cut the wounds have become hypertrophic, leaving puffy, disfigured scars which - as one anon mentioned - resemble worms and are constantly uncomfortable or itchy even two years after the fact. i wouldn't recommend starting, even if you don't plan to go too far with it. besides all that, these types of scars leave a certain impression on other people which cannot be undone.

yeah, the itching does sound unpleasant. what impression would i leave on others anyways? i probably wouldn't be too open about it.

i have a lot of cutting scars
a lot are quite bad and will never truly fade and i recently relapsed and cut up my chest in the past week
idk it feels like it helps or something

it doesn't sound all that great as a coping mechanism honestly so i hope you feel better i guess

        >it doesn't sound all that great as a coping mechanism honestly
it depends, its helped sometimes, but a lot of the time it just spirals into more
whatever tho, its funny at least to watch the nurses reaction when i need blood tests

i hate looking at my scars i didnt cut deep enough to bleed and i still have scars all over my thighs months later but i think it's healing

all i wanna do after cutting is get into bed and get to tomorrow so its kept me alive
