Is amorc legit?

I want to understand more esoteric concepts and become an initiated one. Rosicrucianism piques my interest and I want to know if AMORC is a legitimate program towards enlightenment or just a lie.

You don't need the AMORC for enlightenment but I'm sure if you follow a basic understanding of what their philosophies are about, the modern AMORC is probably just a mix of a lot of Hindu/Buddhist philosophy and syncretic combo of ideas that stem from real things. Today it's no different then any other valid form of attaining spiritual progress.

No, worst Rosicrucian group. Join the Golden Dawn.

Golden Dawn former dabbler here. Only knew two real GD practitioners but one killed himself and the other became convinced he's the antichrist and will talk about nothing else after an entire year of schizophrenic ramblings. AMORC seems a lot more sustainable.

If you want to go that route I'd recommend B.O.T.A over AMORC. Read The True and Invisible Rosicrucian Order.
B.O.T.A does this anyway but, it's pretty slow moving, educate yourself on Tarot and Hermetic Qabalah. Case's book on Tarot is great, I'd start with Dion Fortune or the A.S The Sword and the Serpent for getting started with Qabalah. There's a book called Simplified Qabalah by Ted Andrews that would be a nice addendum to those to more comprehensive works. And in my personal opinion, there's no Rosicrucianism without gnosticism, so reading up on your Nag Hammadi can be quite illuminating.

B.O.T.A. is good but is there any ritual beyond the rare group meetings? Also they went from one year to five which seems endless for an eager candidate (other esoteric schools let you proceed at your own pace) and you seem to spend a lot of time with Ann Davies stuff pretty early on, right?

AMORC is sketchy for asking you to recruit, but it does have some ritual

Full disclosure: I only just got to the Ann Davies stuff, so I'll hold off on commenting on that. All of the Tarot lessons prior to that is high quality stuff.

In terms of ritual, just fill that in yourself. This stuff takes work and initiative on your part, don't rely on some organization of larpers, read as much as you can.

I've been doing BOTA for a couple of years now, I also include the Aurum Solis system into my own practice, as well as meditation, and I've gotten some miles out of Internal Family Systems practice too.

You don’t need to join an order but having someone more versed in the teachings certainly can help. This stuff is a lifetimes work/study/takes years of practice. It’s basically yoga for the western psyche.

Rosicrucians don't exist in the physical world, if you are wanted by them you will know.
