5 years ago i started a Roth IRA, and now I’m only up $1800. Yes it says 24% return since the beginning but should I move my money somewhere else? I got 19.5K sitting there

Put it in Filecoin. Ticker : FIL
>bitcoin
I’ve already pumped and dumped Enoch times
Nice Dinocoin. I am more of a Decred anon myself.
you should invest in land, mine is up 300% since 2020
24% for 5 years? 4.8 per year? Kek
On a loan? Kek
>muh parasitic israeli ponzi scheme
you can't make a minuscule investment and strike it big by doing nothing anymore. those days are long gone.
So I might as well pull that money out and put it somewhere else, 20K would pay off a good part of my student loans
i'd recommend canned food and bullets
Dafuk kinda college cost equall to (or more) than 20,000 dollars? You a pilot or something?
If you have >20k in outstanding student loans you have bigger problems my friend
I have 75k, I have bigger problems
Holy shit dude you have a fucking crisis on your hands. What's the degree in?
I have over 60k and my employer is paying it off. Healthcare is the best insustry right now.
Architecture, I had to get two degrees.m to get licensed When I pass my last exam next year I should be making 80k minimum
Are you adding money to it every qeek? Every month? ROTH IRA is for retirement, in 30+ years. You shluld be making annual contributions. The maximum is 6k i think. Ira is not liquid and you can't take from it. If you want explosive gains you need to accept risk and invest in a diversified portfolio to minimize loss.
Yes it’s for retirement, I put in about 4k a year of maximum 6k alotted. I can take out what I put in but not the gains because it is a post-tax Roth IRA
It just feel like $4K return over 10 years is very low
>It just feel like $4K return over 10 years is very low
it does seem low. i just opened am automated wealthfront account to try it out about 2 weeks ago. It's made about $40 so far and the 5% apy cash account is going to earn solid interest as well. most of my assets are tied up in other options though. whats been your experience with wealthfront since you opened your ira with them?
I haven’t tried the cash account yet, I just use them for a Roth IRA and to track my 401ks from other companies. My main bank pays nothing for a cash account so I’m considering moving
Only the first year did I put in all 6, I also had a 7% pretax 401k I was contributing to
that 5% is very nice, and from what i can tell you're not locked into it like you would be with a CD or something, so the cash remains liquid and no applicable fees with withdrawls
https://allamerica.bank/
You're welcome.
I think they raised it to 7k this year. I usually put in 3-4K a year into mine.
It's 6.5k, 7.5k if you're 50 or older
everything is going to suck shit for a long time. look at the future of America. Is it good or bad?
It's going to be better than ever on a logarithmic scale!
It’s bad lol. I think the future of shit sucking is only beginning to dawn on the retards
IRA????????
Have you EVER maxxed out your contributions to it? if not, loser
here is the best advice I can give you youngsters
>make as much $$ as you can
>live as cheaply as you can
because someday you will have health problems and not be able to work for awhile
I yolo'd $60k of my Roth IRA into BTC at 26k via itrustcapital (no israelitely annual fees, managed by the same trust company as Swan Bitcoin and they charge annual fees).
I HATE THE FEDERAL RESERVE AND israeliteDOLLARS FUCK IT ALL. If BTC fails oh well but that and silver and gold are the best hedges against clownworld inflation IMO. It's a gamble but I don't give a fuck anymore.
BTC is being used by BRIC nations to circumvent sanctions and military embargos. Use that information as you see fit.
move half to a roth ira that can hold bitcoin.
and fucking get rich tax free.
Solid
When you try to take the money out of the Roth IRA at retirement, they'll tax it so heavily that you'll lose half of it.
That's what they're doing to boomers now.
Of course, it won't exist anymore by the time you reach retirement, so my comment is a moot point.
That's funny. I started with $6k and turned it into 18k using leveraged ETFs and timing the market during COVID.
Put it in a 6.5% 6 month cd
If you withdraw, they will hit you with taxes and early withdraw fees, just forget you have it until you are 67.
How can it be taxed if it’s already post-taxed income when I put it in?
Kek, I made 1,240 from 10k Tbills in a lot less time than that.
I been a T bill Chad too these days. Just threw in a nice chunk of change on an 8 week bill.
Where can I buy T bills
you don't have enough $ for that yet.
bump
Nice, I love running ladders on T bills.
someone else said it, but unless you can use it to buy land, it's pointless to move it out of a roth or 401k. just leave it alone, it'll come back.
13k of my 20k Roth Ira is post tax income. So I'll be taxed 10% on the 8k profit. I need that money to buy a house next year
