>You put your hand in the box with 2 Silver balls... and pull out a Gold ball...
Any 'mathematical probability' that includes a chance of pulling a Gold ball from 3 boxes is bullshit.
There are 2 boxes that might have a gold ball in them, you have picked one of them, the chance the other ball is also Gold is only 50:50.

Anonymous

It's just easier to say it's 50% because there are only two possibilities remaining...you either pull out a silver ball or a gold ball.

Yes, but the ~~*pilpul*~~ argument tries to make it out of 3 so shut that shit down with the 'obvious' false choice.
Topic: You shouldnt be vooting if you're too dumb not to counter-act ~~*tricks*~~ at the start.

This is not a riddle in the sense that it is more a matter of semantics.

No.

Because IQ only gets you so far in recognizing the decades long cause-effect of what politicians do. You need to have been working and paying taxes for at least 2 decades before you start to see it. Shit Obama did in 2008 is exploding NOW. Do you think a 25 year old kid has a fucking chance understanding the consequences of his votes?

People under 40 years old shouldn't vote. And this won't cull ALL the retards, but it will tilt the balance in favor of wisdom just enough to give justice a fighting chance.

At least basic civics tests. Or maybe removing parties from next to candidates and if you are unsure have pamphlets with their positions in house.
The tribe thing made it retarded.

If you got a gold ball then obviously you didn't get the all silver box so 50/50 right.

I'd just shake them all though cuz I know the difference in sound.

Not necessarily iq, but a test about whatever you're about to vote about, yes, absolutely. Things like which candidate is proposing what policy and so on.
Anyone fighting against this is corrupt, knows it, and should be dealt with accordingly.

Anonymous

Hard agree. If you don't know the policy you're voting for, only the face, your vote should be fed into a furnace.

13. 2 weeks ago

Not necessarily, but I do believe a civics test should be required, similar to the one immigrants take for citizenship.

14. 2 weeks ago

No IQ test to vote. If you pay taxes and are an adult male, you get to vote. Women and children don’t vote.

1/3rd without replacement
1/6th with replacement

proof:
There are exactly 3 ways to pick the golden ball. Two of which are box 1, and one of which is box 2. So by a simple counting argument, conditioned on picking a golden ball, P(B1) = 2/3, P(B2) = 1/3

P(S|B1) = 0
P(S|B2) = 1/2 (assuming replacement, it is 1 without replacement)

By probability marginalisation:
P(S) = P(S|B1)P(B1) + P(S|B2)P(B2)

P(S) = 0 * 2/3 + 1/3 * 1/2 = 1/6 (or 1/3 with replacement)

Probability is mathematical pilpul. As much as rabbis wish to they can’t predict the future. Only Gods knows and he determines all outcomes.

its 50% because there are two options
gold
silver
so, you have a 50% chance of picking either gold or silver, at any point.
first pick? that's a 50/50 what you get.
(100% from 1, 50% from 2, 0% from 3 ... = 50% average)
second pick? same thing, 50/50.
(its either box 1 or box 2. so, box 1 = 0% chance of picking silver, box 2 = 100% chance of picking silver ... = 50% average)

there are only two choices, so it's 1/2. aka 50%.
if there were 3 choices, then it would be 1/3. aka 33%.

No. IQ is impacted by education, and the moment that politicians realize they can control who votes by depriving those they don’t like from public education is the moment we will start our gradual transition into oligarchy
