Not much needs to be said about Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It has one of the highest scores ever achieved on Rotten Tomatoes and is widely hailed by critics as a cinematic masterpiece. Audiences agree, which made it the highest grossing movie of 2017.

And Disney achieved this feat in part by employing progressive practices such as reserving almost all of the major characters for PoC, WoC, and Women.

So little did it surprise anyone when the toxic waste slushing through 4chan decided to launch a trolling campaign against the company for daring to be nice to minorities.

The hate campaign’s crowning achievement: The Last Jedi: De-Feminized Fanedit, a 46-minute butchering of the masterpiece devoid of “Girlz Powah and other silly stuff.”

It was of course universally panned by intellectuals and critics within hours as exactly the racist and sexist endeavor it set out to be. Even The Last Jedi’s director wanted in on the action and fired off some well deserved ridicule.

Enter Logan Smith, habitual internet hero and creator of the @YesYoureRacist project that shows white people just how racist they are, who decided to go one step further.

In response to the MRA douche who edited all the women out of #TheLastJedi,” he wrote on Twitter, “I decided to edit all of the men out of Saving Private Ryan. Here it is in its entirety.”

Bam!

Logan’s Saving Private Ryan edit gives us 2 meditative minutes and 20 serene seconds of abandoned roads, women looking thoughtfully into the distance, and the American flag being softly caressed by the wind.

And critics are going wild with praise for the masterpiece. So much so that our internet hero quickly followed up with a minute and a half man-free version of The Shawshank Redemption. Another runaway success.

Is there any movie that can’t be made better by leaving the men at the cutting room floor? The internet doesn’t think so but time will tell! What do you think?
