Immortality Musings

So I wanted to ask LULZ their opinion on what, if any, method of immortality you believe we are the closest to achieving relatively speaking. The baby blood meme? Retrovirus? digitized consciousness? blood recycling? I'm genuinely curious to hear your thoughts.

aww don't be that way. Statistically speaking trannies want to die, not live. This thread isn't for them.

None. We may very well be going into a dark age, best chance at living past the life expectancy of bronze age nomads is cryonic preservation and hoping the future doesn't lose the technological and sociopolitical power to preserve your body.

      lol blackpill go wah wah

There's no immortality. The universe's expansion rate will eventually increase to the point where there can be no atoms

How about the extension of human life beyond normal biological lifespans?

Highly unlikely to happen in your lifetime, if at all

First of all, we have a hard limit at about 10^200 years, because after that even black hole farming will be impossible and humanity will end. So immortality is impossible in this universe. But the good news is that NDEs are irrefutable proof of life after death, because anyone can have them if they come close to and survive death. And they are so undeniably real to those who have them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U00ibBGZp7o

As this NDEr described their NDE:

    >"I saw how life never ends. I remembered the process of reincarnation is endless, wonderful and truly eternal. I witnessed my own spiritual evolution and saw that I had existed long before this present incarnation (where I am now a male human). For me, watching the process of living life, after life, after life unfold, was mind-blowing! I undeniably observed that I had lived an innumerable amount of lives. My NDE clearly showed me that these bodies (we now inhabit) are not the first and only time we have existed! I saw that our soul and spirit is ancient! I also observed that there is no such thing as death."

And importantly, even dogmatic skeptics have this reaction, because the NDE convinces everyone:
    https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/mysteries-consciousness/202204/does-afterlife-obviously-exist

So anyone would be convinced if they had an NDE, we already know this, no one's skepticism is unique. And the book in pic related is known to convince even hardened skeptics that there is an afterlife.

    >muh brain chemistry

Neuroscientists are convinced by NDEs too. What do skeptics think they understand that neuroscientists do not?

    >muh DMT causes it

Scientifically refuted already, and NDErs who have done DMT too say that the DMT experience, while alien and really cool and fun, was still underwhelming to the point of being a joke when compared to the NDE.

    So we already are immortal.

Nobody rational is going to be convinced by subjective claims of an afterlife like NDEs without actual proof. Eyewitness testimony is not proof, it's evidence, and in the case of the supernatural its normal for people to be extremely skeptical and it's unscientific to claim that evidence is proof. Eyewitnesses are also notoriously bad at remembering things and tend to insert their own biases and all kinds of mental shortfalls that overall reduce the credibility of eyewitnesses over most other types of evidence

we only need to first scan our brains, which might already be doable with existing tech. even if rebuilding from that scan is not doable YET, it doesn't matter, you won't perceive the time between getting scanned (and dying) and being reassembled. hence we only really need to reach scan phase at this moment, so you have a chance of "living forever".

You won't perceive it because it won't be you. Even if personalities could be recreated from a brain scan it would be a new person waking up with a lot of weird quirks.

wat? if I snapshot you right now, disassemble your atoms the put them back together in that exact way, it's not you anymore? lol

                >Even if personalities could be recreated from a brain scan it would be a new person waking up with a lot of weird quirks.
I am specifically saying you are completely wrong. a full brain scan (for sake of argument down to atomic level to capture everything) would make it possible to recreate you. fully you, who's reading this right now.
my argument is simple, a full brainscan + DNA code would make it possible to fully recreate you (minus your scars and shit), and that's it, that's my argument. and I fully disagree with your argument which is
                >can't recreate you, it would be someone else
that's retarded, it's primitive chimp brain retarded.

If you don't believe in souls then you must be 100% skeptical of replication, because your self lies inside the molecules of your body in their present configuration. If you remove continuity from a body without a soul then you destroy the self that was in it.

Immortality of what? The physical atoms in the body? Thats as immortal as humans can conceive of already.

Re arrangement of the atoms in a certain fashion? Cloning can be done already.

Neidan and waidan are you only hope for living an abnormally long life, but physical immortality is impossible baring some digital consciousness upload, and even then the universe will end some day.
Spiritual immortality requires you to birth a spiritually perfected homunculi within the abdominal cavity that one can move through different realms with.
    T. 15 years at various alchemical schools around bali and south-easy Asia, where the Chinese lineages fled to after the CCP took over. You'll quickly meet immortals if you spend any time in these schools, of course they are not physical beings.
