nope, he chose the comedy path because he wasnt good enough to stand with the greats.

he should have been the George Harrison of a group, contributed now and then but left the song writing to somebody better/

If you think Steve Vai is not aware of his performance cliche and is not sarcastically doing these stunts for amusement you are retarded.

Steve Vai has never been serious about who he is. Obviously you are a cunt that takes life too seriously.

You're the one who came looking for an argument. All I did was correctly point out that Steve Vai's playing is tedious, technical, and entirely without emotion. He's a music theory nerd who thinks playing obscure scales quickly counts as good musicianship. Just gets boring very fast, as all technical players do.

    True.

After The Mothers Of Invention disbands, you can tell how good a Zappa album will be based on how FEW lyrics there are.

I DON'T LIKE ANONS LIKE YOU!
Shitheads like you think you're funny with your "Frank Zappa wrote pee pee poo poo ca ca songs" or...
    >Farts in the mic
    >Musical genius
I wish your types would just fall off the face of the earth.
You know damn well that any of that "Pee Pee Poo Poo Ca Ca" stuff isn't even .0001% of his output. This meme is old and it wasn't fucking funny the first time around!

some anon counted it up on another thread and worked out that there was something like 17 pee, poop and fart references out of 350ish songs. Some of those were his most popular stuff hence the association but if you take his discog as a whole he's not really the peepeepoopoo guy people make him out to be.

Eh. When you get to the 70s he's just doing very wooden fusion jazz. I tried to make myself like it but you hear his contemporaries in that genre and he is nowhere near.
