I'm starting to think dealerships are starting to hoard 2019-2022 cars in order to increase the price of these used cars to get people to buy 2023 models instead.

In a way OP is right. Autonation has such a large section of the market that they have a significant effect on the car market in general. They are the Blackrock of the auto world, and if you don't know what I mean by that you are not really informed enough to comment.

They were hoarding cars. Now they are stuck with overpriced stuff. They can't sell till the investors agree to sell invintory

I hear some American manufacturers were deliberately slowing production to increase demand (and help boost profits.) I noticed fagott EV still aren't worth mentioning, kek.

It was the computer chips. Cant release a car without the 40 annoying driver assists that no one wants

I want everyone but me to have them. You're all utterly incompetent and dangerous on the road. If I could install 15 mph speed limiters on all your shitboxes I would

I see tons of older cars on the lots around me. I'll even see a good condition 2016 or something right out front from time to time (vs. the ratty used ones at the back). Maybe it's regional variation.

    >At the close of March, the industry had non-luxury vehicle inventory totaling 1.60 million vehicles, up from 1.53 million at the end of February, for a 55 days’ supply. The inventory of luxury vehicles (excluding uber luxury ones) stood at 290,852 units, up from 271,591 at the end of February, for a 60 days’ supply.

    >Import non-luxury and luxury brands had the lowest inventories. The highest inventories were a mix of domestic brands, dominated by Stellantis’ brands, and a mix of luxury makes.

    >Non-luxury brands with the lowest inventory were Toyota and Kia, under 30 days’ supply, followed by Honda, Subaru, Hyundai, Volkswagen and Chevrolet, all with below-industry average supply. Luxury brands at the low end were Lexus, with under 30 days of supply, followed by BMW and Land Rover.

    >Non-luxury brands with the highest inventory were mostly Stellantis brands, with four among the top for supply. Ram was the highest with 119 days’ supply, followed by Jeep and Chrysler. Luxury brands with the highest inventory were Buick, at 117 days’ supply, followed by Jaguar and Infiniti.

No. You can drive by any dealership and see for yourself. Their stock is thin all over the place except for Hyundai and Nissan.

I'm gonna buy new I don't give a fuck anymore.
The used prices are psychotic, and every carfax I look at for a less than 50 thousand mile WRX is like 12 different accidents and oil changes at the dealership every 10,000 miles or even longer. And they still want $2k less than new MSRP for these things. BRZ/GR86 same issues, and fucking forget about even an ecoboost mustang. Those cocksuckers are even more expensive and in worse condition at the same mileage here.
By the time my new idiot mobile hits 150,000 miles I'll be too old and retarded to drive a fast car and can just putter around in a corolla.

I told you, WRX sucks. Only retarded bad drivers keep them for 50k miles. I changed my oil every 5k and still dumped it with 12000 miles cause it sucks.

I was also thinking about buying a new brz/wrx, what didn’t you like? What would you suggest? I’m looking for a car that handles and is fast, these two only check the second box. V6 Camry is more expensive and fwd, but faster. Finally a decent bmw is 15k more and will have maintenance issues.
      >inb4 Camaro

When I got a new Toyota in 22 the only other used cars worth a shit with like 50k miles were asking 12-15k. Meanwhile a new Toyota was 20. It was the dumbest shit I have ever seen.

Also was very pleasant to watch boomers think
      >muh used car prices!
Is still a valid thing because it most definitely is not anymore.
