Is that USB 3 Type C, or 3.2 Gen 2x2. Does it support charging? Fast charging? Over 15W? Oh wait it's actually USB 2, but also doubles as video out, because "type C" is a connector and doesn't specify anything.

I dont like apple. I think the way this was implemented is retarded. What happens when something better than USB-C comes out? It will eventually. Maybe it takes 10 years, who knows?
When that happens, there's a metric ton of red tape and legislation that now has to be changed.

read the directive, everything is answered in it.

usb-c is currently specced for 240w charging and 240gbit/s transfer.
that will do for a while, dontcha think?

How is it reducing e-waste when you switch to a connector that had a million different protocols and the same amount of different cables that do not support them?

      You are creating MORE waste.

        >a million different protocols
All of them support a set of baseline features. The rest is optional.
It's better than what we had before.
