If you believe trans women are women, what does being a woman mean? What people are and are not women, and how do you know whether they are women or not?

If you believe trans women are women, what does being a woman mean? What people are and are not women, and how do you know whether they are women or not?
I'm a lesbian so whatever makes my dick hard is a woman, homosexual.
is 65' mustang with 289 windsor V8 starting up a woman?
it doesn't have a penis so it can't be a real woman
There are several semantically correct definitions of woman, some of which include or exclude trans women. Woman is by definition, like most common words, polysemic. Unilaterally defining a woman is therefore impossible, but trans women are necessarily, logically women, as they are always included in one of several tautologically correct definitions of a woman
what is wrong with excluding trans women?
t. erf
You can't excluse trans women from "woman", because, again, there are several semantically correct defintions of woman that include us.
but you are men
including men as women makes the concept of womanhood farcical
Regardless of the defintion, we are not men, and you know it.
You could argue that we are male, but not men.
We are not treated or regarded as men socially, we do not have the phenotype of men, we do not identify as men.
you are men and you are trying to brainwash me to believe lies
because you cannot accept reality
You are very low IQ and cannot understand my very clear and logical exposition, so you accuse me of trying to "brainwash" you, much like a caveman would call the wheel "sorcery".
You are most deftinately born a man, or you wouldn't need drugs to transition to your prefrence, you disengenous little shit.
i was born a baby
aaaaand that's how you know your mom is female.
no one said she wasn't, and she would still be female if she never gave birth or got pregnant
this isn't relevant to anything anyone said
it is helpful to clarify such a confusing issue
what issue?
Women
Wait, should we define trans women instead? Would that be easier?
Women
So you think it will be easier to define women instead of trans women. Cool, got it. I await some elucidation.
Women Women WOMEN
wymens
>or you wouldn't need drugs to transition to your prefrence
This is dishonest and you know it
There are also several correctly semantic definitions that include childrens, animals and objects.
what's wrong with including them?
t. ranny
they are MEN who can penisrape women
i think they're still capable of rape even if society doesn't consider them women
everyone can rape, rape is still rape even without a penis
This. Woman is too vague, it can mean anything from a dog poop to a cis man. AFAB is the word OP is looking for. To exclude all transwomen from somewhere, you make it AFAB only.
>If you believe trans women are women, what does being a woman mean?
I don't fricking care what being a real woman means.
For the absolute majority of social interactions someone's """biological sex"" is effectively irrelevant.
There's 7 billion people on this planet. 99.999% might as well not actually exist for all I know.
Of the ones you do see, most will be interchangeable nobodies that could be random generated every morning and you'd barely know.
The only ones that actually matter are friends and/or family, usually both, because those are the ones that have the most direct impact on your life and wellbeing.
>For the absolute majority of social interactions someone's """biological sex"" is effectively irrelevant.
this is a complete lie lmao
what are some social interactions where someone's assigned sex at birth is relevant? how often do these interactions come up in your life?
When I’m looking for some dick
is looking for dick the majority of social interactions for you?
If you believe kneeling chairs are chairs, what does chair mean? What seats are and are not chairs, and how do you know whether it’s a chair or not?
that's like a fricked up backwards massage chair
nobody is actually going to sit in that for more than a few minutes
a chair is something you can orient your sitbone on in a roughly perpendicular plane between sitbone and legbones for at least 10 minutes on
>a chair is something you can orient your sitbone on in a roughly perpendicular plane between sitbone and legbones for at least 10 minutes on
Who made you the authority on chairs?
Just because you don’t like that chair doesn’t mean it isn’t a chair. Some people even prefer those chairs.
>Just because you don’t like that X doesn’t mean it isn’t an X.
conservatards in a nutshell
insulting a random chair because of its use in a trans analogy is hilarious, it's very unlikely you had more than a neutral opinion about such a random and niche object until you needed to interact with it in the context of your hatred of trans people.
>this chair is like trans linguistically
>"I hate that chair now! I mean I've always hated those chairs it's natural to hate that kind of chair! look how bad and not a chair you could even sit in that chair is!"
If that response is bait it's genuinely hilarious.
im insulting it because it looks uncomfortable to sit on
>a chair is something you can orient your sitbone on in a roughly perpendicular plane between sitbone and legbones for at least 10 minutes on
the floor is a chair
lol i used to have one of those because i thought it would help with my terrible computer posture. of course i ended up just sitting on it with my feet up on the knee bit and slouching even worse than i would in a normal chair.
no idea what a women means or is. but i’d just say that some trans people just feel like men or women in spite of whether or not they pass 100% and i would feel weird calling them anything else
>but i’d just say that some trans people just feel like men or women
How do they know what it feels like to be a man or a woman?
A woman is someone who identifies as such, and is either AFAB or making the effort to transition to become one
define making an effort to become one
define afab
define identifies
they cant
is right, "man" and "woman" are social constructs. roles we play in our interactions with the rest of the world. passing trans people exist, and "biological sex" does not matter most of the time. anyone who truly identifies as a woman can be a woman, and there is no quantifiable way to tell if they truly identify as a woman or if it is for some other purpose, but it's in the same way that we cannot tell if a "woman" has a dick in normal social situations.
Tf is a sitbone
>what does being a woman mean?
it's a social category in our society, mostly it means fulfilling certain gendered roles. as a society though we like to think it's not the roles that matter, but that there's some abstract property related to the roles.
obviously though, you don't need to fulfill the roles to be a woman.
>how do you know whether they are women or not?
generally i ask, it doesn't really matter if someone is wrong so i don't care if they're lying
A woman is someone whom I automatically perceive as a woman
Everyone intuitively knows this to be true from their own POV yet they often fight it because they try to insert prescriptive non-self-referential definitions into their worldview. It simply does not work that way. Gender is funky
..i don’t rlly try to think much about this.
..but i guess being a woman is being on the feminine side.
obv
a woman is full of estrogen and looks pretty and has boobs
that's it
if we are talking about the societal definition of a woman, then a woman is what society deems is a woman. So, that doesn't include all AFAB people, but it also doesn't include all trans women. Society doesn't see trans women as men, but they also don't see them as women. This is the part you people can't accept, can't comprehend. I understand you FEEL like a woman, I understand you want others to see you the way you see yourself, and that it makes you uncomfortable to be seen as any other than that, but you will never just be a woman. The "trans" before "woman" makes a difference, being a trans woman and being just a woman are not the same thing. People recognize this. Your lives, your role in society, how others perceive you and speak about you is not the same way they would see or speak about just a man, or a woman. Even if you're from an open minded community, this still applies. They will call you the pronouns you prefer and let you dress however you want, but you are not a real woman. A real woman, to keep it simple, doesn't have to try to be perceived as such. She just is.
I've known some trans people that understand this, and accept it. But you people fighting semantics here are wasting your time. Fight for tolerance to trans women and the right to express yourself however you want, and not for the "right" to be included into a label that is not yours.
>being a trans woman and being just a woman are not the same thing
I think you mean "cis woman" when you say woman, but it's just silly, notice a space between woman and trans? that's because trans is an adjective, and describes a type of a woman, who could've guessed
Whatever you say. If you want to live in playland then do whatever you want.
>People recognize this. Your lives, your role in society, how others perceive you and speak about you is not the same way they would see or speak about just a man, or a woman. Even if you're from an open minded community, this still applies. They will call you the pronouns you prefer and let you dress however you want, but you are not a real woman. not if they can't tell and you pass which is what most sensible transsexual people aim to achieve, it's not like it's that important to share your medical history with every social interaction, so we just function as a woman in society anyway
idk why you try to fight semantics while being wrong, that's not how language works, and that's not how society works haha
>not if they can't tell and you pass which is what most sensible transsexual people aim to achieve
but most of them don't achieve it. you get that, right? most trans people can clocked easily enough. and when people realize you're trans things change. they see you different. lie to yourself all you want, that's just how it is
>it's not like it's that important to share your medical history with every social interaction
being trans is not the same as being diabetic, it is not only relevant in medical situations. sorry
>so we just function as a woman in society anyway
yes, and that's a good thing! but understand, people don't see you as a normal woman. And there are things in your life that are influenced by that fact. You're trying to accommodate to the woman role to the best of your ability, but you can't be 100% sure what life would be like if you actually were a woman. That's not a bad thing, just a fact.
>A real woman, to keep it simple, doesn't have to try to be perceived as such
lmao
Idk if I look at it and it's a woman it's a woman. If i look at it and its hard to tell i ask pronouns but its not really a woman the same way but still a woman you know? A guy who just says they are a woman while looking, sounding, dressing like a man isn't a woman because look at them but I'll still respect pronouns and keep my opinion to myself because it isn't a big deal
