I want to get gud. Unless you Anons stop me, I'm gunna clean install picrel. I'm too stoopid for actual Arch, but I admire it's purity.

Why do you care what the retards on this board think? Install it and get on with your life.
Because I suck at Linux and need all the advice I can get. And I refuse to go back to 'Just works' Ubuntu distros.
You are not remotely thinking about this correctly. There is no meaningful differences between the distros to 'get gud' at. Learning POSIX sh and the general userland is the same anywhere you go. You could even use OS X and still learn most of the shit you'll need for the rest of your life with *nix systems.
Stop overthinking and being a wishy-washy dweeb, install something that works and get to studying, homosexual.
I know. But I don't want to fuck myself by trying to learn on a complete shit distro.
You cannot possibly do that, you min-maxing homosexual. You're now being obtuse intentionally, I think. Just go install whatever the fuck you're going to install and go back to shoving a dildo in your ass.
I guess. Thanks for the pep talk.
Almost every distro is the same beneath the surface. Trying different ones out and finding out for yourself is how you learn. You can basically start with any popular distro or one based on one and go from there (since they have most help out there)
You won't get any worthy advice here
this board is full of phone consoomers and win7 fags apparently so you can safely ignore sucking at linux
Don't fall for the arch meme. Just use a real distro like opensuse or fedora.
This is the exact sort of awful advice you can come to expect from this board.
The distro you use to gain a greater understanding of how Linux and other *nix systems are put together and their provided tools doesn't fucking matter at all.
Just distrohop in a VM for a while. Eventually you will realize most distros are the same thing anyway just with a different setup.
I understand. But I want to bootstrap myself with a solid bistro.
There is no such thing as a solid distro you haven't yourself determined as such after trying and seeing what's best according to your needs
Also if you're established enough in a distro you eventually get used to doing X this way instead of that way, the end result ends up being the same and not worth switching to a different distro. If you cannot find a package, you can always build it. If a distro comes with some defaults, you can still change them. You can still use a desktop environment that's not standard for a particular distro, like KDE in Mint or Xfce in Nobara.
>Oh no I'm gonna learn Linux the wrong way if I install ubango!
Really nigga
The only thing that changes is the software that comes with these
In the case of DEs, if you know how to use Windows most of them will be similar and GNOME is just basically going with the windows 8.0 mindset of "that button isn't there anymore". Installing arch is difficult it you find reading and syntax difficult. If you find those difficult, even with the easier to use distros you'll hit a snag at some point anyways.
Just a Arch with calamares, just werks
is it actually a good os? compatible with most software? secure and private? can i feel like a space man/explorer if i use it?
It is just arch with an installer homosexual.
so it's good then?
Well fuck it, m8s. Unless you know the solution to the fail to install pacman error. Format, partition, create new, etc. I might as well just install Windoos on this damn thing.
Yes, you've made it obvious this thread was a bad faith timewaster. Well done, I suppose.
I am trying. But reformatting the existing linux ssd for a new install is completely fucked because pacman is being a retarded ass.
I use it and it's good
prefer it over archinstall even
just make sure to Rdd the disgusting purple theme
Kek. I kinda like the basic look and feel of the bistro... Untill I hate it and make it look better.
arent the aech servera fucked until monday
