I am impressed you could even find enough stuff about an ancient mystery cult. If you really wan't to be pagan i recommed looking into the writings of Julian the Apostate, Sallustius and Iamblichos instead. Neoplatonic hellenism with heavy Orphic influence and the Gods as lesser manifestations of the Supreme Godhead King Helios.

Mithraism was literally just a gentleman's club where members would come together and engage in political horse-trading while eating strawberries in caves. They didn't seek to maximize their converts, they sought to make their club as exclusive and prestigious as possible. Women weren't even admitted, and men needed a current member to vouch for them just to start the path of sacramental initiation.

Mithraism was less a religion and more like how the Free Masons used to be.

It was a Legion thing. Following is a surviving Hymn of the XXX Legion: circa A.D. 350

Mithras, God of the Morning, our trumpets waken the Wall!
' Rome is above the Nations, but Thou art over all!'
Now as the names are answered, and the guards are marched away,
Mithras, also a soldier, give us strength for the day!

Mithras, God of the Noontide, the heather swims in the heat,
Our helmets scorch our foreheads ; our sandals burn our feet.
Now in the ungirt hour; now ere we blink and drowse,
Mithras, also a soldier, keep us true to our vows !

Mithras, God of the Sunset, low on the Western main,
Thou descending immortal, immortal to rise again !
Now when the watch is ended, now when the wine is drawn,
Mithras, also a soldier, keep us pure till the dawn!

Mithras, God of the Midnight, here where the great bull dies,
Look on Thy children in darkness. Oh take our sacrifice !
Many roads Thou hast fashioned: all of them lead to the Light,
Mithras, also a soldier, teach us to die aright!

I honestly think it's kinda weird OP absoloutly had to choose one of the least preserved mystery cults around that time instead of going with something that has more surviving resources.

It's not weird at all when you consider that it stems from atheist anti-christian butthurt which tends to manifest itself exclusively in the most moronic fashions possible. It has nothing to do with a religious or spiritual impulse, it's just contrarianism against mommy and daddy forcing them to go to church once when they were kids.
You'll notice this sort of figure tends to gravitate towards Norse neo-paganism because of le heckin based aryan master race, despite that religion being so utterly extinct that it has only been preserved by Christian writings; but then notice that they never associate themselves with "brown-people" religions like Hinduism which has had continuity of worship and liturgy for a good three thousand years.

I know what you mean but i do understand christiant butthurt. If you look how Christianity spread through rome. Burning academies, libraries and temples. Burning "gentile" priests and even hacking the famous and beautiful philosopher Hypatia into pieces and parading her body parts through Alexandria and fanatic hermits flooding into egyptian and middle-eastern cities to loot and burn even more temples, libraries and statues and books then you will perfectly understand anti-christian butthurt too.
          >The second, more famous, burning of the library came at the hands of Theophilus who was Patriarch of Alexandria from 385 to 412 CE. He turned the Temple of Serapis into a Christian church. It is likely that the collection was destroyed by the Christians who moved in.

Christians also used the word gentiles for non-believers moron. Go read a book before acting like a smartass

Peter Brown writes that much of the previous framework for understanding Late Antiquity has been based on the dramatized "tabloid-like" accounts of the destruction of the Serapeum of Alexandria in 391, its supposed connection to the murder of Hypatia, and the application of the Theodosian law code.[190][191] Written historical sources are filled with episodes of conflict, yet events in late antiquity were often dramatized by both pagans and Christians for their own ideological reasons.[192] The language of the Code parallels that of the late fourth and early fifth century Christian apologists in Roman–style rhetoric of conquest and triumph.[193] For many earlier historians, this created the impression of on–going violent conflict between pagans and Christians on an empire-wide scale with the destruction of the Serapeum being only one example of many temples having been destroyed by Christians.[194]

New archaeological research has revealed that the Serapeum was the only temple destroyed in this period in Egypt.[195] Classicist Alan Cameron writes that the Roman temples in Egypt "are among the best preserved in the ancient world".[196] Temple destruction is attested to in 43 cases in the written sources, but only four have been confirmed by archaeological evidence.[197] [note 3] Recent scholarship has become that Hypatia's murder was largely political and probably occurred in 415 not 391.[203][190] There is no evidence that the harsh penalties of the anti-sacrifice laws were ever enforced.[204]

            >They didn't destroy all of the temples so it's okay.
Also, just because only four wrecks were found does not mean that more temples weren't destroyed.

So might rise from their graves the great heresiarchs to confound their comrades of to-day. There is nothing that the critics now affirm that we cannot call on these great witnesses to deny. The modern critic will say lightly enough that Christianity was but a reaction into asceticism and anti-natural spirituality, a dance of fakirs furious against life and love. But Manes the great mystic will answer them from his secret throne and cry, ‘These Christians have no right to be called spiritual; these Christians have no{264} title to be called ascetics; they who compromised with the curse of life and all the filth of the family. Through them the earth is still foul with fruit and harvest and polluted with population. Theirs was no movement against nature, or my children would have carried it to triumph; but these fools renewed the world when I would have ended it with a gesture.’ And another critic will write that the Church was but the shadow of the Empire, the fad of a chance Emperor, and that it remains in Europe only as the ghost of the power of Rome. And Arius the deacon will answer out of the darkness of oblivion: ‘No, indeed, or the world would have followed my more reasonable religion. For mine went down before demagogues and men defying Caesar; and around my champion was the purple cloak and mine was the glory of the eagles. It was not for lack of these things that I failed.’

Christianity hates life but wants to prolong it.

And yet a third modern will maintain that the creed spread only as a sort of panic of hell-fire; men everywhere attempting impossible things in fleeing from incredible vengeance; a nightmare of imaginary remorse; and such an explanation will satisfy many who see something dreadful in the doctrine of orthodoxy. And then there will go up against it the terrible voice of Tertullian, saying, ‘And why then was I cast out; and why did soft hearts and heads decide against me when I proclaimed the perdition of all sinners; and what was this power that thwarted me when I threatened all backsliders with hell? For none ever went up that hard road so far as I; and mine was the Credo Quia Impossibile.’ Then there is the fourth suggestion that there was something of the Semitic secret society in the whole matter; that it was a new invasion of the nomad spirit shaking a kindlier and more comfortable paganism, its cities and its household gods; whereby the jealous monotheistic races could after all establish their jealous God. And Mahomet shall answer out of the whirlwind, the red whirlwind of the desert, ‘Who ever served the jealousy of God as I did or left him more lonely in the sky? Who ever paid more honour to Moses and Abraham or won more victories over idols and the images of paganism? And what was this thing that thrust me back with the energy of a thing alive; whose fanaticism could drive me from Sicily and tear up my deep roots out of the rock of Spain? What faith was theirs who thronged in thousands of every class and country crying out that my ruin was the will of God; and what hurled great Godfrey as from a catapult over the wall of Jerusalem; and what brought great Sobieski like a thunderbolt to the gates of Vienna? I think there was more than you fancy in the religion that has so matched itself with mine.’

            >Comparing early Roman christianity to medieval "christianity".
After getting its shit pushed in enough and after the dysgenics crisis of Rome ended christianity was thoroughly paganized.

Burning the library for religious reasons is not the equivalent as burning it for other reasons. Furthermore you've making a massive assumption if you think that there weren't many smaller cases where for example knowledge of mathematics was lost when a Pythagorean cult was abolished.

Non-christians are called "loathsome, heretics, stupid and blind" .In another edict Theodosius calls "insane" those that do not believe in the christan god and outlaws all disagreements with the Church dogmas. Ambrosius, bishop of Milan, starts destroying all Pagan Temples of this area. Christian priests lead the mob against the Temple of the Godess Demeter in Eleusis and try to lynch the hierophants Nestorius and Priskus. The 95 year-old hierophant Nestorius, ends the Eleusian Mysteries and announces the predominance of mental darkness over the human race
Also to qoute the dear bishop of Alexandria, Theophilius:
            >Burn it! Burn it all down! For if these books contain things that are not in the bible, then they are false, and if they contain things that are in the , we already know of them.
With everything i know i came to the natural conclusion that Christianity and by extension all of the major Abrahamic religions are the most vile and fricked up sects that ever crawled on the surface of the world.

Alright, but what about Mithraism "stealing" from Aten? Or does that not count?

Remember any Atenism and Akhenaten were completly memory wiped by the priesthood of Amun and we only know about him thanks to Napoleon finding the ruins of his capital Amarna in his egyptian expedition. Besides really liking Hymns and both being Solar Henotheism there is not too much similarity. Also Mithras was originally the persian deity of oaths and divinity.
