I thought Mac was supposed to be easy to use. Instead:
>I can't rebind more than a couple keys to preset alternatives
>windows stop being draggable on external monitor after closing lid
>Ctrl-C stops working 4 seconds after plugging in keyboard
>some windows hide from X, some close entirely with no logic

    >Microphone gets assigned randomly and have to check every time it's the correct one
    >some apps just freeze and stay white unless forcibly closed. Really difficult to know when it's hidden and others have tried calling me million times through Teams
    >mails appear at 4px font, have to copypaste messages to external editor to read them, copypaste back

Weren't macs supposed to be first party so there wouldn't be any differences? Why does doing the simplesy thing require some external paid app?

      >he actually fell for the "macOS just works" meme
Linux unironically "just works" more than macOS these days.

Sort of; it required knowledge of the inner workings of the environment, but on the other hand it also gives you the tools for it and doesen't lock you out. For example >fixing rippling audio requires some knowledge of what a buffer underflow could mean in the error logs, and then figuring out what pulse is, then changing the default sampling rate from the faulty one
        >display brightness not functional, requires knowledge that you have hybrid graphics, and that the config file defaults to the wrong one not in charge of physical display

        >External paid app
No shit sherlock, apple makes a profit for every app sold in the app store.
Use Linux mint, that's all you ever need

How are people supposed to get anything done when everything keeps fighting back? I thought all the professionals recommended it? Even Linux distros for all their terrble UX usually had a way to fix it yourself. I just feel stranded I've been scammed so hard

Thank you for just saving me between 1 and 2 thousand dollars.
I had just fell for the whole 'actually getting work done' meme and was just on the edge of buying a mac for productivity reasons.
Of course when I asked for reasons why I shouldn't get a mac here on this board no one said anything.
The trolling and bait here is reaching levels that are beyond anything you'd expect, even for here of all places.

Isn't that why Apple decides against supporting multimedia like .webm and flash(when it was still relevant)? So that they could sell apps to stream video?

i think thats entirely on apple hating everything that comes from google and trying to fight against it for no reason

iOS is the only reason anyone uses AVC and HEVC. Apple is a member of the MPEG LA and makes money from this situation. Supporting WebM would go against the interests of their shareholders.
The Flash thing was probably just Apple telling Adobe to go fuck themselves.

Macos window management is utter shit. it's made to have 1 window maximized

Are you on crack? Windows has always been 1 window maximised, that's why it was such a huge deal when snapping was introduced. MacOS never needed a "real" maximise button (instead it had "zoom to content") because it was so much better at multi-window setups. They added full screen as a maximise alternative to appease both windows expats and iPad weirdos alike, but you shouldn't use it because it's AIDS.

how cares about snapping. the gobal menu and the shitter dock make having more than 1 window open in macos a pain in the dick

Linux is better in every way.
