AMC LieMAX, Cinemark XD and Regal 4DX for me, in that order. 4DX was fucking godly.

        >go to Cinemark IMAX
        >excellent audio and yuge screen
        >awful folding chairs
        >go to regular viewing at amc
        >mediocre audio and moderately sized screen
        >visible stain on the screen
        >ubercomfy reclining chairs
        It’s honestly a tough choice

It's a near perfect movie. No scenes ever drags on for too long, the film never slumps, every character moment is interesting. Even the training scenes are exhilarating because of the real footage of the jets. I'm astounded that a movie like this even exists in 2022.

I'm so fucking happy that everyone else liked the movie as much as I did, I felt the same way as
in the sense that I'm beyond shocked that a sequel this long after the original could be this good. It's really a sign of the times that 95% of reboots and decades later sequels are such shit and this blows them all out of the water. This sounds dramatic but I haven't walked out of a theater that satisfied in at least 3 or 4 years.

        >apparently they ended the IMAX run?
IMAX theaters are all contracted for Jurassic Park right now.

        But Jurrassic Park fucking sucks

Visuals were perfectly fine in standard, but the drop in audio quality and volume sapped some of the energy. Hearing Danger Zone in imax and in a standard theater are worlds apart.

Huh. Well, at least I'll have the theater to myself.

A lot of showings by me still seem pretty full. Really shitty deal for theaters to have to play Jurassic World, but I assume in the long-run they need to not fuck over the studio.

Both IMAX theaters in my city are fucking garbage. They still use those shitty non-reclining seats where you have to share armrests with the people next to you. It's baffling because they renovated every other auditorium in the same theater with recliner seats. It's inexcusable. Lucky for me, the AVX theaters are near enough to IMAX quality that I can still enjoy the film the way it was meant to be experienced.

The fact that the film has an unabashed happy ending was a genuine pleasant surprise. Too many reboots where the hero from the original is a sadsack failure who gets emasculated, humiliated, and finally killed unceremoniously. Good thing Tom Cruise would never allow that to happen to his characters.

There is no such thing as toxic masculinity. Masculinity builds nations, femininity destroys them.

    >straightforward no-frills action movie with no forced woke bullshit
    >even though there are numerous women and nonwhites in the main cast and in positions of authority, no attention is drawn to that fact
    >Phoenix being a good pilot isn't because of girl power and no attention is drawn to how awesome she is because she's a woman
    >the big heroes are three white men

Weird cult aside, Tom Cruise is based. He's unironically the last movie star; it's as if he feels required to solely carry the old Hollywood persona of being hyper-competent, charismatic, and crowd-pleasing. He's not a writer or director but it's blatant he has a lot of influence over his movies because most of them have the same qualities.

why would he re-record it? altering it at all would destroy the feel.

Cruise is the one who insisted they had to put the actors in the real jets in actual flight pulling actual Gs. Without his autism, they wouldn't have gotten those fantastic cockpit shots.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this movie is. I enjoyed the whole film from start to finish. Tom Cruise is one of the very few not following the Hollywood Disney playbook and it shows.

I saw the new Jurassic park before this and it was a slogfest of uncomprehensible cgi shit with shit dialogue and modern era quips that no one enjoys.

Saw it for the second time in IMAX on Thursday. My favorite film in years. I hated every fucking garden gnome bullshit thing out of Hollywood for the last few years. But this film was gigantic white pill.

I would totally go see it again.

And unironically the last movie I didn't completely hate was another Cruise Flying Kino with American Made all the way back in 2016.

That man just produces awesome films. I have tremendous respect for him after how awesome, pro-American and non woke this movie was.
