I love this shit. My only wish is that it paid more. The weird thing, everyone quits within a few weeks.

I love this shit. My only wish is that it paid more. The weird thing, everyone quits within a few weeks. Maybe 20% stay and even they leave after a few months. I don't get how this is sustainable for a low pop area like mine.

Amazon fulfillment center and I'm usually a picker. It's suitable for someone like me because I'm autistic and can't do much else.

I am also autistic, worked in warehouse and it was hell. Now I am programming from my home and it's much better.

Its not sustainable, Amazon in internal talks already know they are running out of people who will roleplay a robot for them.

Vox has some articles on it

Oh so I'm not noticing anything new. Did they mention what they plan to do about it? I feel like this is a job that should pay the median wage for the work required of you. So $25/hr but I highly doubt they would ever swallow that pill.

You deserve $25 an hour for larping as robot, I wish you luck fren. Likely you can goto a different warehouse and get it soon TM.

In the Inland Empire region of California, for example, Amazon may cycle through every worker who'd be interested in applying for a warehouse job by the end of 2022, the internal report warned. One of the reasons is that Amazon is increasingly finding itself in a bidding war for workers with rivals in the area, which is a key logistics region because it is within a two-hour drive of 20 million potential customers and two of the largest container ports in the US. "We are hearing a lot of [Amazon] workers say, 'I can just go across the street to Target or Walmart,'" said Sheheryar Kaoosji, co-executive director of an Inland Empire nonprofit called the Warehouse Worker Resource Center. Kaoosji added that Walmart is offering some workers with past warehouse experience as much as $25 an hour.."

Is $30 starting going to be a realistic possibility?

No one can say Amazon employees do not bust their asses. They deserve $30. I can't think of a more deserving employee that deserves those wages. lol

Definitely, working in an clean, AC conditioned warehouse is actually listed as a form on torture on the ADL

I know people that worked construction that quit within the first week... You do understand they have zero downtime, right? No standing around and shooting the shit on the job site. They don't talk to anyone, they just scan and move boxes for 12 hours.... You know how I know they deserve it? Because Amazon is running out of employees.

I'm a roofer living in a Florida, working in an Amazon warehouse isn't construction. I've worked in a fulfillment center during the holidays and it's leagues easier than any other job I've had. In fact the worst part about it was having to listen to entitled zoomers complain about how hard the work is.
If you can't handle working as an amazon wagie then maybe working retail is more your speed.

I love this. I'm not OP. I work for Amazon as a teen and now I work in the oil field. Listen, bro, you are a bullshitter and that's fine but they are getting pay raises regardless or they will just not have the staff. That is the market telling you they are underpaid lol

The guy who called working in an Amazon warehouse construction is calling me a bullshitter? Oh that's nice.

You do realize that someone working at Walmart is doing loads of more work then morons in an amazon center and they are getting paid less.

*shrug* doubt it in the next 3-5 years, but maybe if your an advanced robot with good numbers to show for it you would think it would be worthwhile to retain you.

this HAS to be a paid amazon shill
amazon got busted a year or two ago for running anti-union ads on twitch in kansas where warehouse workers were talking about unions
i hope the anons here are smart enough not to apply to a worksite that will treat you like shit and expect you to work like a machine without stopping, eating, pissing, or taking any form of breaks, ever

I loved it too until it got to almost Christmas and they started hiring bunch of Romanians and having me train them because I was good.
I left without saying a thing and ghosted their phone calls
I just wanted to fricking earn money in peace without having to interact with low iq human slugs who can't grasp the instructions
Anyway, that was 3 years ago and now I'm starting at another warehouse on monday, how do you deal with talking to supervisors/coworkers or training people OP?

have you guys looked into IT? I been looking into it and you can just get a comptia a+ cert and land a wfh entry level position for like 24 an hour. the thing with this instead of Amazon is that you can build experience at the entry level position while working on more certs to apply for a better position after like 2 years

I tried to work as an order picker at an auto parts place but the place was ghetto. The ladder we had to climb was extremely wobbly, and the parts we had to take down from near the ceiling were extremely heavy and I felt like I was going to fall/had vertigo every time I climbed up to the top rung. Also we were on a skeleton crew, even the HR lady was down packing parts because there weren't enough employees. Also, everything was disorganized and not in the right spot, their inventory was wrong and all over the place so 1/2 my assigned orders couldn't be completed. Also that aforementioned ladder sliced my supervisors shoe open
Of course I quit what the frick did you expect me to do keep working until I fell off the ladder and died frick that
