If gitlab search works like github search then it's completely broken
I don't think searching projects would return comments in an issue or pull request

>giant UX discussion about what's the most user friendly
thank fuck I don't bother developing anything for tech illiterates. This shit would drive me insane.
My annoyance is he assumes the "average" user doesn't, or can't, understand what mouse acceleration is and that's a good enough reason to keep it out of settings.
If you apply that scrutiny to everything in Settings then I'd say half of it would get denied. Do they really think an average person understands resolution, refresh rate, colour profiles?
The "average" user probably won't even touch Settings
>The "average" user probably won't even touch Settings
Underrated comment
The average computer user wouldn't run nor even know about Linux.
Why try to cater to a nonexistent subset of the population? Just give the CLIphobes the ablitiy to alter most settings in an approachable manner - something KDE succeeded at.
*krashes*
He'd be a lot more komfy with a nice, krinkly kushion while he kodes~
Jesus christ
surprised gnome has any settings menu at all still
just push it all into tweaks, make the user install a secondary program to change any user settings
or better yet get rid of tweaks lock it all down and just force everyone to do what devs think is best. thats where its going to be in a few years anyway.
kid you 20 years late with that argument, we already switched off
Locking this thread, it's clear that LULZ trolls are less interested in constructive criticism and more interested in derisive comments.
ITT: Allan Day.
why does gnome hide 3 or 4 settings for mouse and keyboard (each) away from the mouse and keyboard pages of settings app in a separate app called tweaks (that you usually have to acquire on your own ie is not shipped by default)?
heres my point: is the mouse and touchpad page supposed to show settings for mouse and touchpad?
is "pointer" acceleration a mouse and touchpad setting?
does anyone see where im going with this?
Yes the pointer is directly tied to the mouse and TouchPad.
gnome just likes to fundamentally misunderstand its target market, they fell for the year of the linux desktop meme and think copying windows babying the user ideals will improve sales (linux is free)
Ah, yes, it's always buggy mess without thumbnails vs spyware krasher who shits himself.
>spyware
opt-in
>krasher
works on my machine
>GNOME
>buggy mess
No, GNOME is pretty solid, the problem is that they like to remove features too much.
I want to fuck him. 😐
I love BEIJING tiannamen
why is gnome populated by tards like the second guy.. like I genuinely don't understand. why is it overwhelmingly populated by incompetent oversensitive superleftard fucks with fragile egos.
i dont think even projects from actual woke corporations are this bad
i no longer like this thread guys
me neither:
>Single-handedly saves GNOME
it is ageism to assume that grandpa generally is bad with computers?
Did you just assume grandpa's age????
reason i started using opensource alternatives and linux in general was the every advanced setting imaginable was available in the settings and there were no ads like every "free" app out there, now full circle we get ukraine lgbt blm bullshit and no settings cause we need to dumb everything down for brainless naggers to adopt it
Don't use gnome then? You have a choice you know
i did mostly cause the cpu spikes from gnomeshell from moving my mouse
https://www.reddit.com/r/gnome/comments/lcojbl/high_cpu_usage_on_mouse_move_window_move_and/
they ever fix that? oh wait i dont care cause i dont use naggerware
