    >luxxotica bad
Search the archives. They’re not. Only the fhasion label brands like Armani are shit. Oliver Peoples and Persol are top tier and some of the raybans are good.

They basically subsidize the good brands with all of their shit offerings. They’re a lot better than the fashion place that owns Gucci that keeps buying Eyewear brands up and ruining them.

I have a pair of oliver peoples, they’re fine, certainly not deserving of the irrational redditoid luxxotica hate, but top tier is a bit much. they’re just decent quality frames that aren’t a ripoff

Youre literally just paying hundreds of dollars either for the name or because of monopolistic price fixing. Frames are just bent wire or thermoformed plastic.

this just in, eyewear normally costs hundreds of dollars, next up: you shill your disposable z*nn* garbage and claim it’s just as good as my anne et valentin

The thing is that companies like zenni make the exact same shit for alot cheaper, once again exposing the fact fashion industry is a scam. Quality arguments are irrelevant because all of these can be pretty much the same quality and made the same, out of the same materials.

this pair were a little more expensive but were made in japan instead of china so worth it. japanese attention to detail is renowned

I agree with you. I think the kind of people that insist upon cheap glasses are the type that always order online. They haven’t seen high-quality glasses in a store and compared them to cheap ones. Better workmanship and more cool details. I guess if you want something more generic and serviceable, cheap is fine, but glasses are something that you’ll be wearing constantly. It’s one of the best investments you can make in fashion because you wear them all day every day.

this, I don’t even understand the luxx hate. do you really cares who owns a company? just because a larger company owns a smaller one doesn’t even mean they’re involved in the day to day operations of a company. in the modern economy a lot of companies are owned in some part or completely by another company, that only matters if you’re a financial analyst or something, it doesn’t help you pick a pair of glasses. even products made in the same factory can be made to different specs by the company requesting the work. this luxxotica meme is irrelevant.

Good post. What’s the deal with matsuda sunglasses? There’s hardly any first hand reviews online with fit pics, but they’re always mentioned as top tier? Even their own website has only 2 pics per sunglass and there’s no info on the (plastic?) lens or polarization. There isn’t even info on where they ship from (US or japan?). I like some of their styles but I can’t imagine buying something with so many unknowns for that high of a price.

Ive worn some matsuda frames before and they seem nice. But yeah you’re right not much actual stuff about them online for as big and well known as they are.
I own a pair of Masunagas which seem more spoken about but I found them to be exactly the same quality.

dont really care about brand, but don’t get the pedo glasses dude trust me. i’ve literally never seen them look good on anyone.

They’re not supposed to look good to a guy. And looking good doesn’t translate to being attractive. Aviators make you old older and more fearful and serious. This foments respect from men and admiration from women. Nothing a woman hates more than a guy who doesn’t have his shit together.

        >pedo/rapist/serial killer glasses
        Not even once.

        >You don’t UNDERSTAND, it’s SUPPOSED to look shitty!
Imagine jumping through this many hoops of cope to justify wearing pedo glasses. Buyer’s remorse?

Thanks for proving my point, smoothbrain. The glasses made such criminals look serious otherwise they would have never been in a position to deceive and seduce people in the first place.

or maybe it’s because shit taste and a lack of an aesthetic sense correlates with anti-social tendencies and other dysgenic traits in the gene pool.

          • Anonymous says:

I think it’s much more likely that they used their social skills to achieve that. You are attributing way too much to their glasses, especially since these glasses were common at the type anyway.

  3. Anonymous says:

you guys have it backwards these arent rapist/serial killer glasses. dahmer wore ones that were more angular. rounded aviators are associated with chill comfy approachable boomers like jerry garcia

    • Anonymous says:

Angular ones look more serious hence better than soicuck rounded ones.

They weren’t common other than with with old people and engineers. Most people avoided them because it’s not a friendly low stress look.

aviator frames look good if you already look good, if you don’t look put together already they’ll just make you look worse.

  5. Anonymous says:

if you have the face to actually be able to pull off aviator eyeglasses and not look like the second coming of Dahmer, more power to you, OP.

    • Anonymous says:

i have a massive jaw and nose and large eyes so everyone has told me how large frames suit me. i had big dark rimmed glasses back in the 2000s before emo/hipster was a thing too.

  6. Anonymous says:

the frames arrived today and they actually look SO GOOD the pictures dont do them justice, theyre smaller and less overbearing than youd think. im going to keep them

    • Anonymous says:

You made the right choice. Aviator is the only non soicuck shape. I would rather people think I’m a rapist than look like a soiboy. Glad they’re the angular ones too not the soft weaker person looking ones.

thanks for the support anon, i will go to the optometrist today and get them filled. im looking forward to creeping out the local women with perfect vision, very soon
