Transmission is pre-installed on Mint.
> how do i pirate games to play on linux?
Just look it up on the net you lazy bastard, it isn't that hard to figure out. This doesn't warrant its own thread.
theres no fucking games to play on mint.
oh wait nvm i can use wine right?
did you not tick box during install to install solitaire?
You first sail to Nassau, then turn yourself to the authorities, in the prison look for the fatest man on pedophelia charges and ask him whats the difference between GNU and Linux, while hes distracted circle his immense girth and pants him, the repository should be tattoed onto his left asscheek
don't worry anon, it's super easy to get setup to play games on linux.
1. find whatever game you want to play
2. torrent a windows iso/repack of the game
3. put it on an external drive
4. torrent a windows iso
5. make a boot drive out of that
6. install windows on your machine by booting from the windows boot drive
7. install the repack
that easy
pirate windows then install windows
its easy
your birth certificate is in 500 datacenters by now
Sometimes I wonder how game performance is on Linux nowadays, especially since everything runs on Proton which uses Vulkan which manages to work around DX12's horrible shader compilation stutters from what I've read even though it's supposed to just be an emulation layer still using DX12.
game performance has gotten A LOT better. only a few of the games i play are noticeably worse or better than windows. 90% of everything else runs pretty much as good. the few that are actually better are mostly bethesda games. vulkan does wonders for fallout 4 / fallout new vegas / skyrim.
compared to five years ago, let alone ten years ago, performance across the board was typically always worse or ran similar but had a lot of whacky quirks. like when WoW ran really good on linux from 2005 - 2013 but that was because people were running it in opengl mode that by the time cata came out, didn't support a lot of newer stuff dx11 option had.
Wow is terrible under Linux now. No idea what fuckery has gone on but since shadowlands Linux has gone from having a performance lead over Windows to being behind by about 20%.
It still compiles shaders, just Vulkan ones instead of DX12
There are games with noticibly better performance on Linux than on Windows.
Of all the games I play, only Hitman 3 has had any issues on Linux, it'll crash sometimes a few minutes after launch. But if it doesn't it remains stable. Even Forza Horizon and MSFS are fine.
or Proton
On AMD: Better than Windows
On NVIDIA: Usually worse than Windows, and sometimes your GPU randomly hangs for no reason
On Intel: Much worse than Windows due to missing Vulkan extensions
>On AMD: Better than Windows
Refuted
That's because of this bug which is easy to workaround.
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/1500
Basically, the Linux driver doesn't switch into a "high performance" power profile when you run a game, so you have to do it manually:
echo manual > /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_dpm_force_performance_level
echo 1 > /sys/class/drm/card0/device/pp_power_profile_mode
I have a 6700 XT and it consistently performs better on Linux in nearly everything. I'm sure you can come up with a game where performance is shit on Linux, but that's missing the point.
(you can just apply those settings at startup btw, it doesn't make the card pull more power at idle because a browser isn't maxing out a dedicated GPU)
>Telling Phoronix they don't know what they're doing
Lmao, take the L and go home. You're out of your mind.
I don't think Michael does in this case. He doesn't actually play the games so he doesn't notice that the card is downclocking too aggressively causing huge frametime spikes. I'd rather trust my own eyes.
Runs better than windows in my experience. Proton has ran every game I've thrown at it perfectly.
both vulkan and dx12 is zoomerware that is not supported on my hardware, so i dont give a fuck what it can and cannot do. wine is still trash. and the only reason retards like you praising it, is because isntead of getting better software, wine is piggybacking off vulkan and you "think" it's better now. so kindly, kill your fucking self
Stop using stinkpads you fat piece of shit. Go leave your momma basement and get a goddamn job monkey!
holy projection galore
why do naggers like this praise suckless but hate vulkan (significantly faster, smaller, and more standard than ogl), wayland, and any other modern fast, light, modular, and secure software that is actually usable for anything but larping?
>vulkan and wayland
wine doesn't work on wayland
I didn't say Vulkan is outright better than anything, only that it works around dx12's shader compilation problems which is rather impressive to me.
Seems like you have a lot of bitterness swirling around you, anon. Your response to a seemingly innocuous post is worrying. Please consider talking to someone or seeking help from a mental health professional, it's not healthy to live with all that hate and bitterness inside you. One day it's gonna explode and everyone close to you will take the brunt of it.
>linux shill tips images
shill thread #657,569,289. hope you get paid to low key shill linus shill tips.
>takes a drug to prevent ulcers from ibuprofen
How does that fit in?
get a job and stop wasting time on video games
what do you mean "pirate games to play on linux"? just git clone the repository for the game and compile it. wala, you can play it for free now
Steam proton werks for non steam programs.
/thread
>Is Linux Mint BETTER Than Windows?
retard
you supposed to dual boot if you wanted to run games, and especially pirate
https://github.com/jc141x/jc141-bash/
holy fuck he is SO FUCKING FAT
Rutracker has both wine packages and linux native games, you should give it a try.
The only game worth playing works great natively on Linux.
>he fell for the linux meme
look up johncena414 on 133x
Greta thunberg uses mint?
Cpu bound stuff performs better on linux.
Rpcs3 can runs way better for me. Also might be TSX being disabled on windblows (I fucked around the regristery but never got it working)
i noticed that too. thats because unlike windows, linux doesnt take all cpu on idle for no reason. so it's great at running software mode emulators. i remember same emulator was not playable on windows, became playable at full speed on linux
>~~*for no reason*~~
Scanning your entire system is the reason, goyim.
>thats because unlike windows, linux doesnt take all cpu on idle for no reason
WMI is pure cancer.
Worst part is, you can't really debug it all that well if the issue is in the Kernel for something.
1. get a boat
2. get a trenchcoat, eyepatch, talking parrot, rum cologne, fake wooden leg
3. hold up games company with old flintlock
4. ?????
5. Pirate.
run the install with lutris, once its installed, find the executable and run it with lutris, i got sekiro running this way no issues.
install wine through the term, install steam, enable steam play mode or whatever, install proton experimental on Steam, go to steamunlocked.net, find your game, check protondb for compatibility issues and keep track of a potential fix, download it, add the .exe to Steam, and run the .exe through proton experimental, OP
there is this guy in 1337x.to called johncenta141
He makes pirated releases for linux systems.
johncena141 *
have fun with malware
Jesus just buy it on Windows, or even steal it there I don't care. I don't want to hear you bitch about being filtered by Linux like every other idiot on LULZ who can't into computers. This is inevitably what's going to happen, too.
"I tried Linux but it wanted me to type something and so I shit my pants. Linus owes me a new pair of pants, this OS sucks!"
Just fuck off and do what you're capable of doing, stop trying for more.
nobody heres gives you an actual answer because nobody of them knows
i'll give an actual answer: install them forcing a compatibility tool (a version of proton, different versions have different performance) on steam, or on lutris
