>have nice brand new laptop
>now using flimsy ass USB-C to charge it because muh green shit.
>no more proprietary charging port and cable which was at least way more sturdy and way easier to connect because it was nice and big and strong
>still no "Magsafe" laptop charging by the PC industry that should be standard on all laptops instead of this flimsy USB-C shit or even just a standard single pin round charger which is way stronger than USB-C and would still be good enough "green" policy move.
I fucking hate this "make everything USB-C" shit movement. I don't mind if USB-C were optional for charging but now USB-C is the only thing I can use to charge any new laptop.
I just want to go back to when Thinkpads and other machines had their own dedicated charging port which actually lasted forever, both port and cable. Or just give me Magsafe charging outside of Appleshit.
>he doesn't want to charge his laptop in his car
I can just use any power adapter for that
just get a dongle to convert the usb c to a regular dc cable and use your power adaptor to soothe your autism then
>just get a dongle to convert the usb c to a regular dc cable
that's not what connects to my actual laptop though
i want something like pic related back
Yeah I hate being able to charge my headphones, computer, bicycle lights, ebook reader, game console and mobile phone with the same cable. I wish I needed five different chargers plus alkaline batteries.

Not what I'm saying, retard.
>reliable and convenient magsafe charger
>option of using USB-C to charge on all ports, even if the charger can only deliver like 5W
I don't like macbooks, but they got charging right.
>I don't like macbooks, but they got charging right.
they fucking did and it pisses me off that no other company can do this
>magsafe
Is this shit patented or something? You'd think that something as a magnetic port should have been explored by other companies by now.
lol. Surface RT.
yeah but it needs to become a universal standard.
>takes the same space as 2 type c port
gee I wonder why no one use it
Laptop charging barrel connector type plugs weren't proprietary.
You could buy matching plugs at any electronics retailer and fix your own charger for cents.
>Laptop charging barrel connector type plugs weren't proprietary.
no idea why that wasn't just made a universal standard on all laptops.
barrel connectors were too based for this cringe earth
They were proprietary in practice since Laptops were able to detect an "Unsupported/Genuine charger" and refuse to charge the device "for your safety", without an option to turn that shit off in BIOS.
Dell is one of the worst offenders for this.
Depends on how far you go back. This def wasn't a thing in the 90s-00s
don't buy any shit from Dell/Lenovo
for people like you
doesn't apply to me
That's pretty fucking funny anon.
>laptop can be charged from proprietary jack AND type c
Doesn't solve the problem. In fact now you have even more strain on that tiny port.
Rest your weary head OP, there is a solution to your problem! Just search for "usb c magnetic adapter"
I like how they put the spark graphic there knowing it's flimsy shit
Magnets aren't part of USB-C spec.

>apple invented magnetic alignment
>takes more space than regular charging port
no clue why tbh
>could've fitted 2 more type c port
not enough actually
