I finally fucked up. I absolutely don't understand how hr's select people. As if some people have written on their faces that they should not be taken and they are simply ignored. I look at my classmates and do not understand on what basis they are given a job or at least an interview is scheduled. The top of the course with good projects and gpa is often ignored. They don't even get interviews, lol. But for some reason, I don't understand, companies give offers to people from the middle and bottom of the course. Not to everyone, of course, but I don’t understand why a MUCH cooler student, in my personal opinion, does not reach the interview, and a person from the top 70% of the course people from the same company receives an offer
For 20-30, if not more, of the last vacancies for which I applied, most of them simply ignored me, and the rest wrote a refusal. The only thing I really want to say thanks to is only one company. They quickly refused. But.
1) This is a disclaimer with details
2) I absolutely agree with him
3) They wrote tips, threw off links to technologies around which their work revolves, advised them to read, commit to open source and apply again after 3 months. There were also links to developer communities in social networks where you can discuss projects. And I love their designs. In general, I'm already sick of filling out applications. I don't want to fill out any more applications. I’d rather sit without money, but I’ll delve into an interesting project and in 3 months I’ll go to this company again. Or maybe I'll go do manual labor. Change of activity, all that, you know?

People like you discredit the top cream (ala white people) because of jealousy, just so the corporations won't be on the top.

But don't worry at least a midwit like you will get his revenge on the genius that outperfomed him back in high school or college!

HR can smell try hards, but also in general they are retarded and make retarded decisions. Tbf I also almost never hire the top GPA candidate for various reasons, I sometimes assist in the hiring process at my companies when it's for a highly paid engineering position in my department. You can AMA.

What is this schizo post. I honestly don't get what you were trying to say here.

I totally agree that HR is a fucking cancer, but I did not read past that second line.
Usually I don't care enough to hate anything or anyone, but having a great-looking job is the only thing I plan to have in my life

For really high pating jobs it's rarely up to HR though, they might filter some candidates, but usually the actual manager makes the drcision with like 3-4 other important people and maybe 1 HR on the hiring committee.

HR does a first screening of candidates. You can sort of skip them if you can get to a department manager first.

HR does discriminate against people they perceive as problematic. They want sociable people. Each screener is subjective and has her own preferences.
You can bypass HR, they dont have the power to hire, they are meant to present a short list of candidates to some actual manager so he only has to interview 5 people and not 100

And how do they understand from a resume that a person is not sociable?

I can tell you this, positive value is by definition something desired by all. Ask yourself what positive value is acquired and what possible negative value is turned away and you will have your answer.

Hey ESL anon, this can happen due to regular stylistic variance, or sometimes to impart a sense of finality, as in, "what I am saying is true and there is no point in entertaining further conversation." Hope this helps. Unless you aren't ESL in which case sorry about your retardation and/or severe autism.

Everything corporate is a front for the federal agencies. Those people whose advancement seems mysterious to you, as if you can tell there's some club that you're just not a part of, are all feds.

Because HR don't want competent people they want people they think they would get on with. Getting a job is closer to dating than it is to an exam.

This. HR and most people in charge of hiring don't care whether the company is 90% efficient or 100% efficient because they don't own it anyway. They'll take a C student if they think he's cool to work with.

        >They'll take a C student if they think he's cool to work with.
Everyone will do that. If you have a choice between someone who is more qualified but an absolute cunt to work with vs someone less qualified but you like working with, you choose the second candidate nearly every time. You can usually gain competence but people rarely gain a personality.
