I was also looking at a Saturn Sky, I really didn't want a convertible and the Saturn's sky base engine was way weaker than than the Crossfire. The Crossfire was also 1k cheaper and in unbelievable condition for the price, where the sky was kinda beat up. Paid 6k.
but that's the thing, buying poverty spec krautshitters is retarded because they don't magically engineer them differently from their more powerful engine options, if anything they're worse because they use even more brittle plastic. still just as expensive and miserable to repair as the ones you'd actually want, just look at BMW minis
>conditition seems ok, not at all riced out >black/grey interior >aftermarket wheels, but red stripe aside they fit the car just fine >MANNY TRANNY
Nice
depends a lot on the particular engine type and era, M112s don't like constant short distant drives combined with irregular oil changes, but other than that it's just an old rubber hose here or there. Having a stick really helps with reducing possible failure points
Any ideas how I can get rid of the red stripe in the meantime? There's a guy buy me who does really cheap powder coating If he could do a nice silver color I might keep the wheels otherwise gloss black I guess, I really hate the black on black though when there's so much chrome trim

Also my neighbor who has a dodge demon and a bunch of race bikes told me his friend who had a c5 in storage for a long time had flat spots on the tires was told by a mechanic to do burnouts and rotate the tires lol. I don't know if I feel comfortable dropping the clutch in a 20 year old car though.
Maybe in yuropooristan, parts are plenty expensive here in shartland

No, they are not. I just did the valve cover, transmission pan, transmission plug and other odds and ends on my m113 s500 and the entire thing ran me less than $200

These simpletons have opinions formed by memes and boomerlore anecdotes. I consider this a win, as nice older German cars are extremely affordable because these sissies are scared of them.
I’ve owned 4 German cars now, put many miles on them, and have never had any problem worse than a water pump or a wheel bearing. Parts are generally pretty affordable too, you only are going to get into the absurdly expensive shit in S Classes/7 series or other “high end” models, and you’ll find similar with American and Japanese stuff too.
My old C Class had very cheap parts, and tons of them available too. When I bought it there were a number of busted interior parts and a broken headlight, along with a couple rotted hoses that needed replaced. It was incredibly cheap to get everything back in order with quality/oem parts.

How important is it to use premium fuel?

Depends on your owner manual recommendation.

This
Both me and my nephew had 350z's, and there's a sticker on the inside of the fuel door that says to use premium. I always did, he never did. Both cars continued to run fine.
I still like to use it, as it tends to have additives to keep your fuel system clean. Also, (in theory,) a good factory ECU will continuously advance ignition timing until knock is detected, meaning that premium fuels will give you (again, in theory) higher MPG's, more power, and less emissions. You have to use premium all the time though, as ECU's tend to advance the timing very slowly over a few thousand odd miles, so you will see little, if any, difference if you just dump the odd tank of premium in between using regular fuel.
Probably not this season, I will consider it after driving it for a summer/fall and putting it in storage. It is definitely not a sports car but it could be a really fun high horsepower highway cruising. The steering is pretty awful but the car feels nice on the freeway. Besides I already have an engine swap that I'm working on, wish I bought the crossfire first considering how easy a m113 swap is compared to LS swapping a fiero.
>6k
Eh, not that bad, you are going to pay Merc prices for repairs and maintenance.
I live outside of metro Detroit, there's a shitton of crossfires in pick and pulls.
>The steering is pretty awful but the car feels nice on the freeway
It's because it's recirculating ball steering, not rack and pinion.
Here's some pics
>Kinforest Tyre CO., LTS is a Chinese tire manufacturer. They produce passenger car, SUV light truck and bus tires in a wide range of sizes.
So the first plan of action is to replace the oversize wheels and chinesium tires, correct?
>So the first plan of action is to replace the oversize wheels and chinesium tires, correct?
yes, I want r18s all around instead of r19 and I think 40 rears 35 fronts
Do you have any ideas what I should replace it with? I have access to a shitton of 3d printers and cnc machines and make a mesh grille or something like it would be probably the easiest part for me to make. I'm gonna try to finish my mockup this weekend and make side skirts and model the wheels I want unless I can find a model available
If you can get the red ring on the wheels painted black or chrome i guarantee those wheels will look 1000% better and you might not even need new ones. If you could get the black matched to your paint even better
lolll, but yeah it seems like a relatively easy swap since the engine mounts bolt right up and you can use the same electronics and run it stock. If you buy the AMG supercharged m113k ($4k lmao) you have a stock 500hp motor that bolts in and only needs headers to to be spliced and a swapped front fan with the shroud modified. The m113 e50 makes like 376 hp stock and is only like $700-800 based on some cursory research
Those wheels look just fine aside from being black and red.
Nowadays you have many different options of gloss level and color even with powdercoating. I'd consider repainting the wheels in glossy silver to lighten the look of the car and drop the visual center of gravity.
Also the crossfire suffers from the weird accents. If you paint the door handles, a-pillar and other furnishings body color you'll get a much nicer, less early 2000's look.
Retard, you could have bought a Solstice
I was also looking at a Saturn Sky, I really didn't want a convertible and the Saturn's sky base engine was way weaker than than the Crossfire. The Crossfire was also 1k cheaper and in unbelievable condition for the price, where the sky was kinda beat up. Paid 6k.

Yeah I hate the wheels, if I end up liking the car and plan on keeping it for a while I'm going to throw these on and buy some nicer coilovers.

one of the fastest guys at some track events in my region has a crossfire, car is really underrated. good buy imo

nothing about an m112/m113 is expensive or difficult to repair. You are just a clueless retard is all.
Nows the part where you start screeching about 2 spark plugs per cylinder
Maybe in yuropooristan, parts are plenty expensive here in shartland

Should've done the sky. Crossfire is kind of cool but also gonna be a black hole for repairs
Not a bad price
Are you gonna do the m113 swap?
Probably not this season, I will consider it after driving it for a summer/fall and putting it in storage. yes, I want r18s all around instead of r19 and I think 40 rears 35 fronts
just go get OEM wheels and the correct size tires you nagger
If I do the swap I was thinking about making it a bit like a VIP car and started working on some simple aero ideas for the car
black it out and ls swap it
It's way easier to swap in a m113
cool, now how are you gonna make it?
>VIP
if you’re REALLY going for this then for the love of god get rid of the fugly waffle grill and it’ll look like pure sex.
Do you have any ideas what I should replace it with? Could try to copy one of the facelift 300's grille options
Nice I will look into that and see if I can get models for reference. Someone's sells these mesh grills still I think but I looks kinda cheap to me
I think it looks p good
You did it????? Post car.
Godsneed, OP. I hope you don't get Chryslered. Just make sure it is currently not falling apart, and be on top of maintenence.
Post car.
Yeah, I still need to go over it fully, but so far I haven't noticed any major problems yet. I'll post it tomorrow, it's too dark out right now.
Oh except I think the tires may have dryrot and a flat spot because the car was in storage for so long.
Here's some pics
I'm miring. Don't do anything naggerish or Mexican to it.
>standard transmission
Pic related.
If you can get the red ring on the wheels painted black or chrome i guarantee those wheels will look 1000% better and you might not even need new ones. If you could get the black matched to your paint even better
Maybe I'll just go the powdercoat route, I hate that the lug cover feels like cheap plastic too
When does the spoiler come up?
>manual
Yeah nah, you did good. That redeems everything.
Nice job OP
Change those wheels though
What do you think about these?

Wait holy shit can I swap in a rack and pinion steering rack from a w210?
You bought a 90s Mercedes lmao
It's not German trash.
Yes it is
every time I'm walking away, I glance back one last time to my vehicle
>it's a dog taking a shit
Post car.
Nice hairdresser car
McDonald's
How good is the srt variant of this? I know it's the same thing as the slk 32amg but I'm asking about that too
Auto only unless you get the tune for the magnetic clutch pulley to work with the manual or go fixed pulley on the blower, 350 hp
Those wheels look just fine aside from being black and red.

Would you recommend buying one?
