If you aren’t skinny you shouldn’t wear flannels open, they look good on skinny people because it only shows a sliver of torso, or eccentuates the shoulders. It does neither on you because you’re pudgy, I think it’d look pretty nice buttoned up.
For the western-based outfit, it’s really hard to pull off and this really isn’t a good example. Usually when Americans wear something around their necks/shoulders it’s to carry it, e.g. carrying a jacket on your shoulder if it’s hot, they do it all the time in /tip/ fashion. However, in rural areas of Japan, rooms are as large as those in Europe.

Your hair honestly isnt bad. I think losing weight, and the stupid hats, would do you the most good. Shoes generally make like 40-60% of a fit, so they should be taken more seriously. The air force jacket might be a neat addition in japan, but from an americans perspective it looks kinda dumb. Id say maybe dye it to be darker.
Another thing is that all these fits look kinda awkward, like you have good ideas but I dont personally think any of them mesh well together. Theres a lot of different colors happening in a lot of these fits and it doesnt work very well, try and stick to a better color pallet for each fit. Maybe try some black and grey jeans.

I like the vision with these fits man, but you could definitely coordinate your colors better. If you haven’t already you should look at a color wheel and try to put complimentary colors together. Honestly if you want to go for the brighter colors (like the turquoise or graphic tees then you should try to accent one loud piece with the rest of your outfit being more muted/earthy tones. With enough confidence you can pull off about anything but that’s my main critique. Don’t listen to the gays that are telling you look too fat or any of that shit because as long as you style your outfits with things that fit your body type you can look just as great. Although I will always advocate for physical fitness because pic rel.
