Wtf is this? Wasn't the hyperloop supposed to be mass transit? A Tesla in a vacuum. What do you call a Tesla in a vacuum? Twitter? Is Elon going mad?
imagine entering a one lane tunnel in an area with naggers
It's bad enough on trains they have access to the emergency brake. What do you call a nogvin a vaccum?
a black cyoom?
>imagine entering a one lane tunnel in an area with naggers
And cars chock full of batteries that spontaneously explode
If something failed so spectacularly in such a short period of time, why bring it back? Srs Q.
Wouldn't todays clown world make you crazy enough to buy Twitter and bore a tunnel in LA anon?
Be a shame if your battery went flat exploded in there.
The car simply parks on a flat train basically. You don't use the car to move, it's just so when you hit the end you can just drive.
nah
much to my astonishment the one in Las Vegas is literally just a road underground with drivers that taxi people
thank you elon musk thank you so much for inventing the road
That is the "look I can build a tunnel" demo. This is him taking it to the next step where cars get in ze podz and then ze podz are sucked through a vacuum.
I predict a massive lithium fire catastrophe in the loop will be his demise, and the gov will take over Space-X completely.
No oxygen there to ignite the lithium.
You may live to see man-made vaporware beyond your comprehension
-CEO of Tesla
holy fuck that tunnel is narrow, my claustrophobia will kick in big time.
pussy
dont need to worry. the battery explosion will wipe away your every fear in a sec
dont forget, its vaccum so if your car leaks you explode like an egg in a microwave
>dont forget, its vaccum so if your car leaks you explode like an egg in a microwave
no you dont. the pressure difference of going from vacuum to standard atmospheric pressure is only 1 atm. you dont explode, your blood dosnt boil. the most that happens is all of the oxygen in your lungs gets expelled out your mouth, and you pass out in 20 seconds, and then die of asphyxiation in 4-5 minutes.
> the most that happens is all of the oxygen in your lungs gets expelled out your mouth, and you pass out in 20 seconds, and then die of asphyxiation in 4-5 minutes.
Sounds like a great way to sui, ngl.
Your mucus membranes get freeze-dried, and blood vessels in your eyes and lungs are likely to pop.
>Microwaves are vaccumes
No
Thats a pressure chamber. not a microwave.
Now imagine you tesla shitbox catches on fire wheb you are driving in this tunnel 🙂
Teslas do not randomly catch fire. Any instance you show me, I can show a normal gas car catching fire "randomly" too.
Lithium batteries are pretty safe unless you puncture or rupture them.
You are missing the point. Its in a vaccum tunnel with no maintenance lanes
I'm not missing the point, I was responding to a comment that was clearly a jab at EVs when the car in question is irrelevant for some kind of thing like this.
Don't worry the nanobots inside your anus linked to your Smartwatch will release Valium upon sensing your cortisol levels
good...very good
I trust Elon 100% to make my death comfy as fuck
Can't have fire in a vacuum, retard.
yes you can you fucking retard, its how rockets work in space
lithium-ion fires oxidize themselves
they work in a vaccuum same as without
its why they cant be extinguished
elon shills are worse than shareblue or jidf i wish you'd fuck off to twitter and stay there
Imagine instead of a High Speed Railway Network, your country falls for the scam of some billionaire fraud, who seriously managed to sell the state his idea of an incredibly narrow single lane tunnel going under the street.
You can't make this up. It's incredibly retarded. It's a parody of America's aversion for public transportation mixed with its car centric culture. It's actually too ridiculous for a joke.
I have no idea what their plan for an accident is. All the cars behind it will be stuck.
to be fair they would build a tunnel for cars centuries before they build a usable rail network in the US
source: lived there for 10+ years
all they're demonstrating so far is the boring tech - can they make super long tunnels quickly and cost effectively. the end goal was never a road you physically drive on
you can already see other companies exploring similar ideas looking at building small pressurized modules for passengers to sit in, or pods that you drive a vehicle into that gets sealed and loaded into the tunnel to be carried by some electric carts or maglev system. a nominal system impo would operate like a long-range ferry. you drive up to the station for a scheduled departure, your car is loaded on, your travel to your destination, and drive off
essentially everyone smugly laughing about images of teslas driving down tunnels and imagining thousand mile pileups caused by naggers are like if you imagine people in the 1800s looking at a railway magnate showing off their new transcontinental track with a handcar and everyone smugly going
>OH HO HO, IMAGINE THINKING MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WOULD MOVE PASSENGERS AND FREIGHT WITH LITTLE HAND-POWERED CARTS! WHAT A BOONDOGGLE THIS "RAILYWAY" IS!
That's not claustrophobia, it's your rational brain correctly telling you that tunnel is a death trap
what is this shit? Looks like some half-assed styrofoam models
I don't get it. Is it just a tunnel with a road or is the car itself riding inside a pod?
its not even a tunnel its just a tesla in a mile long tube in the desert
there's no vaccuums or maglev trains or any sort of new tech here
hyperloop is now just a car in a tube so the wind cant blow on it (super efficient!)
what a fucking joke. the entire point of hyperloop, the concept, is that it is a PUBLIC transport that helps compete with airlines, consumes less fossil fuel, and allows rapid transport from one city to the next.
Apparently, Musk remembered he's in the car business though, so it's completely pointless to invest and build some technology that directly competes with cars.
Same exact thing happened when the car corporations bought up all of the electric trolley lines in US cities and closed them down so people would be forced to use cars.
Once the concept works they can put seating in there for like 20-30 people or so.
Not even a Musk fan, but use your brain. They're TESTING that stuff. They're not gonna put real live people in there yet.
>car corporations bought up all of the electric trolley lines in US cities and closed them down so people would be forced to use cars.
it was also the oil industry. the rockefellers were the main ones shutting down trolley lines
The hyperloop is not a new concept, the plans existed since the begining of the 20th century, Thunderf00t did entire videos dedicated to debunking the hyperloop as a form of transport and how expensive and dangerous it was...
Only Americans whose cultural heritage is the worship of greed and celebrities could fall for the scams of a known con-artist and middle-man for the american goverment.
it is a car cannon that shoots you to your destination
It's like the pneumatic tube in the bank except instead of my phone number for the bank teller being in there, your car is in there
jej
>rolls window down
Nothing personel
just hold your breath
How did they manage to build this so quickly?
5 year
500 meters of track
You do the math retard
hyperloop is an investor scam and always will be
>Is Elon going mad?
no, but you "musk man bad" shills definitely are (kek)
elon is a homosexual and hypes the fuck out of shit, it's just a underground road now
the most interesting part of the hyperloop is the obvious partial disclosure of tunnel making machines that can do it very fast. AKA DUMBs
Frankly I think the Hyperloop is just repurposed DUMB tunnels that they are telling us are new.
interesting take. makes sense. all these cities are littered with them and it's an easy way to make an extra buck. I also bet that cities rather offload the maintenance costs to the private sector.
underground oven with techno lights.. woah elon is literally iron man
yeah, nah, this looks like a deathtrap. Teslas are shit cars too
>cold makes you lose electricity faster
i dont think you retards understand basic physics. its almost as if you eat all the shit the oil israelites are serving just because they serve it on a non-popular plate. almost like your opinions arent real, but merely a facade made around things you dont understand, thoughts that aren't even your own. Golems. Or should i say, goylems?
Holy fuck, the tesla shills came in quick. Electric cars are not sustainable you fucks, look at what's happening in California with charging stations and power outages. Tesla is a scam and the company doesn't make money selling the cars, they collect the scammy carbon credits to pay for them. Musk is a fraud.
There is technology where you can get 400+ mpg out there too, and it's cheap as fuck, but they want you dependent on oil so they don't implement them in their cars
California is a problem because it's California, not because of EVs.
Dumb nagger you are not saving anything by driving an electric car, you need loads of precious metals strip mined in Africa to make them, and to mine those metals they use fossil fuels, and to charge your car you need coal/natural gas/nuclear energy plants. Don't fucking talk to me about solar or wind, those ROIs take 30+ years.
Electric cars are for the dumbest fucking retards and Musk is too
You are under the false assumption that I give a shit about the environment and manufacturing process.
I am merely saying that using electricity for the common person to drive is the future. I don't give a fuck about wind or blood lithium.
The entire point is that we a country of commuters, are tied to oil for transportation of both goods, services, and people. That's not ideal. There are many ways to generate electricity, go full nuclear.
>wants nukes
see, they say something sensible, but then want govt regulated ev as a base line car for people. those cars will not last 10 years and you will be spending more money on maintaining it than anything.
how can you be from denmark and not notice that your iphone literally wont hold a charge anymore when it gets around -15 to -20
Why in gods cock would anyone own an iphone
so you don't understand how batteries work but then want to call other people stupid
quite literally what anon? Dear god my boy
I hate posts like this, its so fucking gay and misleading. Yes EVs are different than traditional cars and have their own pros and cons, but they hardly "shit".
>1. immediately lose 10% of total battery capacity permanently
False. You typically set your charging to 80-90% capacity instead of 100% to preserve the longevity of the battery. For the case where you want 100% (start of a road trip, etc) you can charge to 100% just fine. It is not "permanently" gone, in fact most laptops and other devices are doing similar when they notice you are often plugged in and not needing battery life on the go.
>2. cold weather destroys range
somewhat but it also depends on your climate control usage. who would have thought that putting your heat on MAX would actually use the battery more?! you can mitigate this by using heated seats instead of the fan. this is just the fact that EVs do not passively make heat like a combustion engine + heater core.
>3. driving faster than X mph destroys range
define "destroy". and this is no different than normal cars and MPGs. Every car has a optimal cruising speed based on gear ratio, wind resistance, and tires. literally the same for every car
>4. keep between 20% and 80% = 60%
this is some big brain retarded logic. you absolutely can go below 20% it's not going to explode, it just means you may prematurely wear some of the cells if you make a habit of it. A lot of these things are the typically company CYA shit because retards
>5. real range is 66% of whatever battery shows
the battery is a real-time estimation based on your driving habits. this is no different than what your MPG/range estimator says in a regular car. if you drive a certain way, it's going to decline faster than you expect.
>6. supercharging is expensive
you are not supposed to do this regularly, this is to be used in a pinch or when you're on long distance trips. you should have a proper home charger, duh
>7. heat is bad
no shit, its wear and tear
>he defends prius+
lmao. what is your life bro?
My life is someone who isn't retarded and understands that EVs are different but not bad because it's a different paradigm.
Make fun of me all you like. I have two cars, one is my daily driver (EV) and the other is a 2000s convertible in manual that I drive for fun. I'd get rid of the EV if I had to keep just one car but that's not the point.
Mock me all you want, I don't have to pay for gas unless I want to and it's liquid entertainment for me. You have to pay whatever ridiculous price gas goes to because of the oil israelite.
>still shilling a fucking prius on LULZ
wow. is the pay good?
>nb4 another non answer then shill product
I don't understand why I have to hate EVs. I don't agree with mandating them and all the green climate change shit is also gay.
I just think that using electricity for propulsion is better than relying on fossil fuels.
>I think electric is better for propulsion is better than relying in fossil fuels
that cuz youre stupid and are trying to sell a point.
Dam, does Big Oil have shills on /misc/ or something?
>Ventilation Not Required.
I have a M3P and it's rated 280-ish miles and put over 20K miles on it in the last 3 years I have owned it, southeast US with hot summers and some flash cold winters.
Not once did it ever give me anxiety or scare me. That's also because I'm not a retard. I have a home charger, I only supercharge when I go on road trips. Even if I drive 100 miles during the day I come up and charge it to full within hours.
The important part is the trip estimator has never let me down. I took a 500mi trip and looked at the range graph the entire trip for curiosity. Every point I was within 1-2% of the estimated charge.
EVs require you to be a bit more mindful of certain things, like if you're blasting AC or heat that is going to use more power to run the heater/compressor. Heated seats are more power efficient so that's enough, turn off the heater/fan.
I do all my errands and long distance driving in my EV, leave the fun car for sunday driving in good weather. Never had a problem. The people who complain are the retards living in CA that buy a Tesla to flex but live in an overpriced apartment and their landlord refuses to put in a charger so they have to stay in line at the expensive supercharger stations while they sip their Starbucks.
HAHAHAHAHA FREEZE TO DEATH IN YOUR SHITTY GOYBOX OR ELSE YOUR BATTERY DIES BEFORE YOU MAKE IT HOME AHAHAHAHAH
>implying retards understand sophisticated technology
>implying retards can operate sophisticated technology based upon their monkey levels of understanding
>implying there is the need to correct retard monkeys on their retard monkey assumptions about sophisticated technology
just
>i hate these posts because they are misleading but none of the information in the post is actually wrong
get the fuck out, snopes tier debunking isnt accepted as fact
Electric cars are obviously a scam if the battery has to be charged. If they had a gimmick where the batteries were easily swappable at battery stations, taking no longer than 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic, I'd actually have little against them, especially if the countries operating them, focused on majority nuclear power production. That would be pretty sweet.
But as they are now, they're total junk.
he's reddit willy wonka
So what happens when I have a panic attack halfway through and do whatever I can to stop my car and cause an obstruction while I pull off my clothes and start screaming?
HONK HONK
HONK
no air ventilation system...
is elon building new gas system?
So one fender bender shuts the whole thing down.
If it's for Teslas only, they could be programmed to actually self drive fairly easily
i highly doubt that this is supposed to be the hyperloop
the picture is just some tunnel
that's literally the hyperloop in las vegas, it's just a tunnel
its not the hyperloop, its just called the loop.
thanks for clarification
get fucked
how long until the first upside down car?
We future now ahhh yeah
Meanwhile in Kushner's new Saudi Arabia tunnel system
No lane for emergency vehicles. Are they going to allow gas engines into this suicide slide? I can see a car stalling and everyone suffocating
That money would have been better spent creating a private Transit company, and building bullet train stations around the US.
Why do you have pictures of nagger children on your phone
Looks like a suppository going up an asshole.
It's a test you donut, I bet you git made that they lunched a tesla into space as well
>open the door
>get's blown out and plastered into the wall
>drive a car through a tunnel with a fallout-themed wall on barn door hinges
WE DID IT REDDIT
A long narrow tunnel? Won't someone up front nick the wall get stuck and thousands of people will get stuck and wedged together and die?
it's vacuum sealed so not much chance of unexpected traffic
Imagine having to get out of that tunnel quickly when the battery in the car behind you catches fire.
What’s behind you does not matter. 1st rule of tunnel driving
And when a car in front of you gets stuck after trying to drive away in a panic and hits the car in front of it? There's only one lane.
just go full throttle and steer towards the tunnel wall you will corkscrew-drive around the obstacle in front of you, problem solved
>tesla shitboxes catch fires often thanks to the lithium batteries
>Using tesla shitboxes only in a single lane tunnel with no real exits or fire hazard safety mechanism
>Your tesla shitbox computer ai will probably not let you exit a burning car either
>You, an elon musk fan, burn alive in your tesla shitbox driving in a tesla tunnel.
Kek amerisharts have turned musk the scammer into a hero
nice another HECKIN SCIENCE scam
Go get your fifth vax homosexual
Nigga invented a tunnel that you can die in when one of the electric cars bursts into flames and can't be extinguished with water
Insert gif of Mario and peach going through the pipe and peach’s cock spinning
It means traffic jam in a tunnel.
There was a video of this and it looked like a nightmare.
Elon musk does really want to remake the train, without the efficiency
>flames
>fire
>in a vacuum
i read that as hyperslop.
I think thar is just a wind tunnel. It is used to test the aerodynamics of the vehicle.
I think, not 100%.
why would you make a fucking wind tunnel out in the open, are you retarded?
have you never seen a wind tunnel?
just google it
musk is a hack
he knows nothing beside marketing his trash to retard fanboys on twatter and tax scamming
after all elon is hebrew name
I thought the hyperloop was supposed to be like a high speed train in a vacuum to reduce friction
no, now it's a small tunnel that cars drive through very slowly
My guess is that the final purpose of the design is to be used for digging and making tunnels on places like asteroids, the moon or mars. I genuinely can't see any use for these on earth and every single presentation of it comes off as some late 19th century science fiction concept that the nazis eventually ran some tests with and discovered it was completely retarded but then used the engineering knowledge form it to make a better cannon barrel.
Is he a Fallout fan or something? We're in that timeline.
Hyperloop is a total scam and a pipe dream
>pipe dream
>one lane tunnel
>tesla only
>no mass-transit
Is this the wonderful private allocation of capital that Elon Musk talks about?
Only in California would anyone think this was a good idea.
>California sits on a huge fault line.
arent tunnels more safe then a high rise during a earthquake?
Underground during an Earthquake you get more lateral motion, whereas the surface moves more vertically as well as horizontal. Horizontal movement over a long stretch of tunnel is still bad.
Tell me again how Latin America is a shithole after this vapoware show paid by US Taxpayer dollars?
the resources for that single lane car tube could have been used to fund public health care, how is socialism le bad but capitalism and billonares le good?
Not gonna pretend its a vacuum. At most, its low Atmosphere
>Have car problems half way down the hyper loop
>Cars moving at high speed behind you thankfully all stop
>You still need help
And how are you gonna help someone in a lot atmo tube? Are you sending people down there in suits just to check the engine?
The hyper loop is a cool idea at first. I imagine Elon was smoking a joint when he thought of it. And wouldn't allow anyone to tell him it won't work.
It (Could) work. But it won't be as simple as this. A back up that could tow cars down the line like in a Carwash may help. but thats a solution to an inherent problem. Its not to be used all the time
>i just discovered the topic but know everything
teachers failed us. self confidence is entirely too high.
how do you do it? by one of dozens of solutions lmao amazing thr arrogance of you zoom zoom cancers
100+ mpge at 200mph? nice. airplane competitors.
Elon is a homosexual and so are all the other subhuman homosexuals on /misc/ who spend all day sucking his dick.
He's a vaporware salesman running massive ponzi schemes, tesla is a joke. Electric goycarts are for fags and are not the future
This is going to be a lot less interesting than the hype.
Elon's in essentially the same crucible that he was in when he decided that EVs were the path to saving the world from emissions. He felt that mass car transit was the problem, to which there are many solutions. But I think he also knew that more radical solutions wouldn't go anywhere. We could solve car emissions by broadening public transit, rezoning America to be more mixed-use and walkable, rebuilding missing middle housing, promoting more remote work, switching shipping away from inefficient semitrucks and towards diesel trains; any mix of these options or all of them at once. All of these solutions are great, and all of them are rejected without examination by the masses. No matter how solid or rational your case, no matter your evidence, a turn away from cars will not be taken. What the Tesla represents therefore is a compromise. Elon understood that he could not change the world so much that people would travel with something other than a car. So he limited himself to what he could change, the type of vehicle they would drive, and that has mostly worked insofar as it can work.
The Hyperloop tubes for Teslas are the same issue. The idea of underground rapid transit in densely populated areas was solved a century ago with the invention of the subway. The 3D stacking of underground transit lines that the Boring Company is all about is not a new idea, it's how every major subway system is already built. But Elon still understands that the masses simply will not accept traveling by any means other than a car. So he is left trying to cram the car into conditions where it is not the best solution. There's no point to making medicine that the patient will not take.
Why does that door looks like it's made out of plywood? What's the thing about fake stuff and wooden doors?
