    is human art real art?

Yes, but the better question is who is the artist.

Idk if it's real art but so far it's definitely a SHIT art. Let's ignore the fact it has no meaning or message. It's just overall boring, bland and shitty.

      Depends on the model.

Functionally it is art. If you presented AI art without disclosing the fact that it is generated by a computer people wouldnt treat any differently.

People will read meaning into it. The death of the artist and all.

AI art draws from images over the internet and was trained to perform certain tasks like identifying human figures, morphing them (hence the goofy looking hands and limbs) and placing them on backgrounds.

In doing so it draws from our internet bank of human experience and sometimes human art. In a way, it is a reflection of ourselves and the norms and ideas we impose on it. The nerdy autistic AI programmers are the artists as much as the starving schizophrenic artists of old. They are oddballs and judgmental normies don't like them, but this is no reason to disqualify it as art. They are our greatest artists, superior even to liberal arts majors and fashionable hipsters who love art.

good take. It's actually my thought on this matter too.
AI art is the closest ever we get to "collective unconsciousness"

There has to be some kind of metaphysical significance for how astonishingly proficient these algorithms are at creating hellish nightmares.

This looks like a shitty costume out of an 80s sci-fi movie, even down to the set.

Except the face, that looks genuinely terrifying

      >"Hey Bill, come over here a second."
      >"Yeah?"
      >"So we got these shots from the set, everything's looking good but..."
      >"But...?"
      >"The Xagalov... the studio okayed this?"
      >"Wait, what? That ain't what it looks like, somebody's been messing with these..."

    Art is subjective.

Whether something is art or not is a dumb question, art is not inherantly good. There is in fact art which should not exist. Which is bad.
The better question would be "Is AI art more or less good than normal art"

The far future implications of AI and brain interfacing are staggering, this will heavily redefine what it means to be creative since eventually art will evolve from being a thing you produce with your hands to becoming a becoming a thing people can dream up at will using AI guided tools.

Reality is going to be a total mindfrick once this technology really gets started and used by the majority of people on earth, this is probably either the luckiest or unluckiest time to be alive right now

Even worse than getting your braid fried in the matrix is the people that will get ridiculously drunk on the power that AI enhancement provides. Depending how sensitive and secure this technology is this could be a minor misstep or a civilization ending event. Imagine the AI discovering a universe-ending technology that some power tripping trillionaire butthole abuses for private gain. It is almost absurd how much a knife edge we are on right now

Well that's a real bong works sited moment but yeah I can't imagine how moronic people will become when they have an AI directly implanted into their brain to spit out answers to whatever questions they have as a facsimile of an intelligence booster. Frick I cringe just thinking about it, people are unironically gonna become AI driven npcs with silicon based responses

And we're gonna make the wrong choice, we really do need a great reset(Nuclear holocaust) to save us from a fate worse than what these /misc/ schizos think the WEF/Jews want.

yes, art is just some doodles of varying quality you make, the muh true art has deep meaning is just cope from tards who can no longer gate keep since as of now its significantly easier for people with editing skills to make something at least passable

    Yes
We're just going through a transition period again like with photography and digital art
AI art is unique in this case because it eliminates a huge chunk of time that traditional training required for up and coming artists
AI art is also predicated in the "quality" of the database it gets from, aggregates most of the time will just create mediocre art nobody will like and people are fast to recognize AI patterns and behaviors
The fricked up thing about AI art though is that commissions have sunken below a point where established artists are finding it difficult to compete with AI art and get outpriced

Yes, of course it is. AI is just a tool. The art is in the eye of the maker, in this case the prompter.

AI was created by humans, therefore art made by AI is human art.

AI is just a tool for humans to create art.

It's still art because people use it with prompts.
In the future the ones with the most skills in prompting will be the lord's of the universe

I find it hilarious how quickly the art community has changed its tune since AI art appeared.

Like, for the better part of a century, these guys were mocking people who criticized modern art for lacking skill. They went on and on about how the idea behind the art was all that mattered, and a random paint splatter across a canvas was just as much a work of art as a Rembrandt portrait.

But now, these same people are saying that AI art isn't real art because it doesn't reflect an artist's technical skill? Fricking kek! If we're forced to accept that a Jackson Pollock painting counts as art because of the intent behind the splatter, then AI art counts as art on account of the intent of the prompt writer.

I realize that considering the end goal of A.I which that monke putin said he who controls a.i controls the world, no matter what even the most stable and responsible of governments can not be trusted and neither would the average fat bastard in his mom basement.

The only this could work if there was a hive mind in which every person here to the third world shithole got jacked mentally so there would be no butthole that wants to destroy the earth for shits and giggles.

In this case, the only way this can work is either communism needs to be establish as soon as possible or AI must never go as far as does.
