Polygamous marriages are usually highly transactional. The wives mostly desire greater wealth and higher social status from the marriage

women have never had higher ambitions than being provided and then controlling that source so they can have power over others

polygamy allows them to interact with males who otherwise wouldnt give them any attention

      >women have never had higher ambitions than being provided and then controlling that source so they can have power over others
hurrem understood this and was able to overtake suleimans lineage

and you see how that went, truly nothing good comes out of women

Truer words, seldom said apart from Biblical analysis about women

They weren´t but they were ignored or beaten if they said anything, actually poligamy is in decline in MENA and Africa because women rights push monogamy.

Women are all cucks they become more attracted to you if you cheat on them regardless of how much they cry and seethe about it, why do you think butthole womanizers area alway surrounded by women while romantic sweet hearts are given the cuck treatment?

I'm in a polygamous relationship. My gf is my main woman and takes priority over all others. As long as the main woman knows her position is secure, it's not really an issue if you have tons of side chicks. If the hierarchy isn't well-defined, I can see that being an issue. My side chicks know they are subordinate to my gf.

Because it benefited them, marriage as a social contract protected them and provided resources for their prospective offspring. In polygamous societies it was generally powerful men who took multiple partners which they were fine with so long as their position was secure i.e. men traded resources for sex/children

Women who take multiple male sexual partners have no intrinsic genetic advantage. Women can only get pregnant so many times and when a man suspects a child isn't his he usually abandoned it or back then would have most likely had it killed along with the wife

Actually women with multiple male sexual partners are at an innate genetic disadvantage.

That's just wrong. Why would you choose to have two children with one father instad of two with two fathers?

Because men are less interested in investing in women who have sex with other men. Whereas men will literally spend crazy amounts of time and money trying to court women even if they are already married.

Ok why do so many rulers, especially muslims and chinese go for the sex room? Like sex is cool and all but maybe it shouldnt be a branch of government and perhaps we shouldnt raise our 12 year old heirs who we expect to learn of governance into chucky cheese fun house with breasts

It wasn't like you're imagining it at all. The popular idea of the harem comes from coomer 18th/19th century Western artists.
It was just where the women lived. It wasn't a coomer fun house.

        1) The Harem isn't a sex room, its what you call the group of wives & concubines your ruler has. The reason why they're a thing was due to
        >Infant mortality being a b***h in premodern period.
        >In China's case, marrying a daughter of an important or powerful family binds that family closer to the Imperial Throne.
        >In China's, the Imperial Princes could be used to occupy noble ranks & important offices. Basically fielding an army of nobles & officials from your balls.
        2) No civilization ever considered the Harem becoming a politically influential faction a good idea. In China its considered the failure of the Emperor's part & masculinity to be unable to control his b***hes.
        3) In Muslim Empires, princes don't have sex with their dad's wives, that's like fricking your stepmoms who are married to your dad.

In China where there is a difference between Empresses, Concubines, and Consorts, they kinda do. Concubines and Consorts weren't exactly treated with the same reverence as wives like the Empress and the main wives. As there's a danger of young horny Imperial Princes fricking palace maids and accidentally creating succession problems with unplanned pregnancies some Emperors often task one of their lesser concubines to teach sex-ed to Imperial Princes in a very practical manner. Basically allowing his sons to have sex with some of the women he's married to.

However this led to some problems in Chinese history, like that time the Jin Dynasty's Crown Prince coomed into a Concubine who was teaching him sex, and she gave birth to his firsborn son. When he succeeded to the throne & married, his wife turned out to be barren, which eventually led to the 1st Intradynastic Succession War in Chinese history.

Good to know. Still find it insane that these guys could have hundreds of concubines. Especially with things like child emperors. Like hundreds of women for one man? Just seems crazy.

In most cases they only had sex with a few of them- especially older emperors- and the rest are just in the harem for political reasons.

The Ottomans had a custom where each concubine (they did not take wives) would have one son before they were set aside.
Suleiman I broke this rule to terrible effect

The incel men would be sent out by the hundred thousands to die for their country. Hence now in Islamic countries the genepool is tiny and birth defected/invalid people are everywhere

Forgot his name. He's Emperor Sima Yan's son, the literally moronic crown prince who was married to Jia Nanfeng the b***h who jumpstarted the War of the Eight Princes.

Also my bad Jia Nanfeng wasn't barren, she just kept shitting out daughters and bore no sons.

They conducted a study a few years back and asked women if they would rather have an ugly guy to themselves or share a chad with other women. They overwhelmingly answered that they would prefer to share the chad. That's obviously not the entire piece of the answer here but it demonstrates that they have no problem sharing men if it suits them.
