how the hell do you get kicked out of your project?!

I noticed this is something that only happens in LULZ adjacent dog whistle fields.

>wm4 started MPV all on his own
>gets kicked out by talentles hacks that joined at the finish line

>Jobs starts apple with WOZ
>Gets kicked out and excommunicated to India not by WOZ but by HR

Same thing Sam Altman now.

How is this even possible, especially in the case of not for profit, open source projects.

How can I inoculate myself against this. What measures can I put in place?

they're all free to fork the project, people are kicked for a reason
you can't get free contributions and expect people to just ignore your abrasive antics

hmm what's easier... moving all the normal people away from the project because the homosexual who created it keeps saying naggerniggeenagger on twitter and fucking up the image of the project or simply kicking the literal "ideas guy" from the already existing project?

Acting like the firing of original creators from projects is some sort of cutsey organic thing when GitHub (which has an acquired monopoly on OSS, don't deny it) literally forces Codes of Conduct on any big project and makes changes to things like branch names by corporate fiat is insanely dishonest.

Reminder that Linus was forced to adopt a Code of Conduct and literally 6 hours later a woman with NSA connections tried to use it to get Ted T'so fired.

        >people are kicked for a reason

Huh? That makes no sense. If I owned a property a property and went into a contract with a renter, by what right would he have to extort of my property deeds and titles? Even if he were paying rent on time for years straight, no amount of standing or character would entitle to what has always been mine.

        Maybe your CCP commie.

        >you can't get free contributions and expect people to just ignore your abrasive antics

You what mate? This is even worse. What does even mean? I can come to your businesses or abode and feign good will and just be entitled to what's your after some time? no at the agreement that I willingly signed up on is even looked at?

I doubt someone as inteligent wm4 would forego to draft a terms of contribution, that contributing to a none profit project at no point entitles you tomonetary compensation and no part of the project belongs to you. Only those whom agree to it will have the privellage to contribute.

Its literally that simple CCP man. Xi must be depriving you lott that this escapes you.

yes, even wm4, he created a github organization and gave same priviledge as him to other people, combine this with his manchild behavior and it was just a question of time before he get ousted, either by github or by the mpv team, in the end he was by both.

NTA, but whatever. Being forced out of something you created by an organized ouster is not something that just organically happens because people are sick of you. People who are sick of you fork your project, they don't instigate a coup.

                >you speak english because that the only language you know
                >we speak english because that's the only language you know
I'm sorry, is this supposed to be a flex? I'm sorry you weren't born into the best language on Earth and that I only have to learn other languages for fun if I want. But I really have no control over that.

                >learn another language or two
I speak five. English really is objectively the best one. The only other one I love as much is for sentimental/aesthetic reasons and isn't commonly spoken outside its native country.

                >English really is objectively the best one
gendered languages suck. english lacks like 10 cool tenses too.

Maybe I'm biased because of Japanese, which has only two tenses and does the rest via helper verbs and weird conjugations, but I actually think that the English amount of tenses is really nice. Plus you can abuse "had" and "have" to get some of the tenses in other languages, for example if you have had to have had "had" over "had had"; "had had" has had advantages over "had" but "had" had had others.

in my language you can describe events that would take 50 words in english in a single verb by combining 2-3 letter suffixes. even this seems incomplete to me as i read tenses in dying languages. tbh we can only objectively argue that gendered languages are bad. the rest is preference.

I don't understand why anyone would willingly do this? Why give admin rights to anyone but yourself? For a business I can see selling ownership so you can get a big payout. But why would any open source author give anyone else full control over his repo?

    don't share your code
dont get contributions from people that don't share your views
if you insist on open source, simply refuse all contributions (then fade into obscurity after more competent people fork your work)
if "other people" are responsible for 50% of your fucking code and deal with most of the maintenance, why would they ever fucking endure your sad existence?

wm4 overstepped his bounds not just by being needlessly hostile to everyone, he started removing features and support for specific desktop environments with an if statement.
He just refused to come back after the 3rd or 4th time getting his commit rights taken away and deleted his account.
Someone made the wm4 account again and offered to give it to wm4 but he still refused, this was a case where someone self destructed entirely on their own and they weren't kicked out permanently.
