Are you LULZ's new butterfly?
Butterfly was the old Cluster B
I love women, already fucked 12 of them and I'm only 22, but I'm never having kids with any of these skanks lmao.
>n-not all women tho
Yes, they're all hoes now. They're fun and I won't stop fucking them until I'm like 30 but commiting to them is beyond retarded.
Where do you meet these women primarily?
>only fucks hoes that are in it just for the one night stand
>all women are hoes now
anon, you do realize this is what you're saying?
You sound like the hoe
Ligotti said he fell into the trap of love one time but not again. he said love is retarded.
well I guess that settles that
thanks ligotti
coomhead loser
I assume this book focuses on themes of the inherent and inconsolable suffering of human existence, but the only screenshot of the book I've seen seemed to be more of a polemic of modern living.
Is my assumption correct and he confuses human existence with our modern existence? Or is it more universal than that?
I respect Ligotti, he's one of the few pessimists who openly admits at the beginning of the book that it's just a matter of opinions that can't be resolved in favour of one side of the other and arguing about it is futile.
Skip thread like this. It’s a shill. Always. The jerk off has no interest in anyone but his book orders.
lol, that's the opposite of ligotti's character
I never read that and never will. feels good man.
>finding solace in ingnorance
lmao
isolation is a solid zapffean strategy,
>zapffean
Holy cringe, end your life now and spare the rest of us the suffering.
>doesn't understand English
>how the fuck do you refute this?
it is woke garbage for antifa anti-americans
>Despite the fact that neither anti- nor pronatalists can prove their positions, pro-natalists have to live with the possibility that they might be wrong. That is a heavy burden to carry, and a heavier burden to pass on to subsequent generations. >Antinatalists don't have a similar burden. When the action is taken on their side and a child is not born, no harm is done. No one has to suffer and die.
>Thomas Ligotti, Interview: Thomas Ligotti, 2011
It's fucking over
How do natalists deal with this?
>pro-natalists have to live with the possibility that they might be wrong.
that assumes:
that extinction will never happen,
and that there's a possibility of being wrong,
and that alive-in-error (correctable) is worse than dead-in-error (incorrectable error),
and that antinatalism necessarily leads to the eternal nonexistence of sentience.
(many such cases of assumptions)
oh and btw, you admit that antinatalism is not proven to be correct.
>what is opportunity cost
Lmao if dying is such a natural thing for the species to do now ot should be no bigger problem for future generations lmao what a cope
Can't win if you don't play
Caint loose neither
This is such cope. No it's not a heavy burden at all. The very position of anti-natalist demands constant rumination, pontification, and self-flagellation to justify. If you're pro-natalist then you already know you're right because the vasopressin made you feel that way and gave entirely new dimensions to your existence. Mission accomplished. A tiny burden of doubt is nothing compared to seeing the essence of Being as a burden. Wtf is this complete retardation?
so many parents are miserable and/or guilt ridden, it's not like you have a coom and you're forever secure in your decision to do so unprotected forever
>so many parents are miserable and/or guilt ridden
On the basis of what? Their kids are shitheads? Their kids are sad? Their kids suffered unnecessarily like everyone else and might not have been prepared for it? That's completely irrelevant. Is the burden of doubt over not vibing with the breeding thing greater than the burden of feeling like existence should not propagate and you are just the last in a long line of mistakes? Is this a real comparison? There's a CHANCE that you might be unhappy with your decision vs unhappiness directly driving your decision to advocate nothingness? That is the biggest, most dismissive LMAO of my life, dude.
>bad things are irrelevant when deciding if it's worth procreating
breeders truly are all instinct no thoughts
Inaction out of fear is one of the greatest cruelties you can impose upon yourself. That is not to say it is cruel to simply not have children and you're obligated to do so, but doing so out of this idea that you are morally righteous for reducing suffering that only exists as a part of existence itself is pretty pitiful. It's the clearest case of throwing the baby out with the bath water imaginable.
>That is a heavy burden to carry, and a heavier burden to pass on to subsequent generations
no one except for low-test homosexuals go around thinking about this shit
I have a friend who got sucked into this shit and I feel so bad for him cos he was abused by his family and abused in the workplace and is currently being abused by his insane BPD girlfriend who (get this) grew up in an abusive household.
He was so mortified that I, being the other “reasonably left” friend, didn’t automatically agree with him when he suddenly became super anti-natalist over night (reddit).
Jokes on him. He thinks that life is suffering, and that his rational judgement has led him to this conclusion — but he’s just stuck in a relationship that makes him unhappy. Of course he’s a depressed anti-life loser. I would be angry at existence too.
Whenever someone says they’re anti-natalist, I just see it as them saying they’re too afraid to try and improve their life.
Cope, also Reddit spacing
What if you have sex and then your child solves all of the world’s problems, removing the original impetus for celibacy?
Checkmate anti-natalists
There is less than 00000000000000000000000000000000.1% chance of that happening.
Why? Just raise your kid to not be a actual fucktard and he'll be as rich and smart as Elon musk. Most kids who end up like losers always have shitty non caring parents, even my parents really didn't put enough effort into me and look where I am posting on fucking LULZ kek.
>thinks Elon Musk is smart
>trust fund babby sperg who's constantly obsessing over the attention his tweets get
Jesus, I expected better of you natalists... maybe this is why every generation of kids just gets dumber of dumber
>he thinks he can have a kid to become rich, rather than the kid's fate also being decided by your retarded dysgenic genes
selfish of you tbh
>pro-natalists have to live with the possibility that they might be wrong
It's the most fulfilling thing you do in your entire life. When you get there, you'll understand that nothing else matters. It was all a distraction.
I am pro-natalist because of spite. Why should I suffer alone? I will procreate exactly because I believe it will cause suffering. A ritual sacrifice to entropy.
Just reheated Schopenhauer fyi. Very undignified but unsurprising come from a scifi tard
>how the fuck do you refute this?
"kys"
Just post his physiognomy
You don't refute it, you learn to laugh at it by reading more of Ligotti's short stories.
Why is it a "Conspiracy?" What is he talking about?
His statement that it would be better if people just died instantly without any warning so they didn’t have to know that death was coming or suffer is absolute bullshit. If people died like that, people would live with anxiety, that their life could end at any moment. When someone knows they are going to die, they also might do things they wouldn’t otherwise like trying new things, reaching out, forgiving someone, letting someone know how much they meant to them. The positive effect that getting to say goodbye has on both the dying and those being left behind is undeniable, even if you think life is worthless/better to not have been. His idea that it would be better for humans to just cut to black is just retarded.
>His statement that it would be better if people just died instantly without any warning so they didn’t have to know that death was coming or suffer is absolute bullshit. If people died like that, people would live with anxiety, that their life could end at any moment.
Except based animals who havre no conceptual notion of death so just chill in the present.
Well… yeah?
Yeah 🙂
By posting Ligotti's chin
impossible
By not reading it
By having sex.
Hey its Chris Mars on the cover. I love his art.
By not reading it and living your life genuinely, not just how people tell you you should live. Im convinced that Ligotti's entire argument hinges on his resentment for a world that memed him into not fully reaching his potential.
Ligotti has achieved more than your unremarkable midwit spawn ever will
That is true. That doesn't mean he reached his potential. He definitely resented not being able to do writing as a career, that is obvious in his stories on the horror of corporate culture.
To be fair, he worked as an editor for a small publishing company or something, hardly an uncommon necessity for writers.
I will reiterate that I am not shitting on Thomas Ligotti's achievements. I just think he recognizes that he fell for a fair few memes and by his own estimation they kept him from reaching his full potential and is a bit resentful about it. I think that this resentment also applies positively, ironically enough, to his writing. Pointing out the way the world memes you into mundane existence is a major part of his horror concepts. I also think that if you don't get meme'd into (a subjective) mediocrity, many of Ligotti's arguments in Conspiracy read as incoherent to your experience of reality. Which is all he's really got as far as proof.
