i'm pretty sure you can never block the information needed to manufacture jammers or EMPs... all you need to do is to pirate the right physics books and make the most efficient one you can make. They can be small, big, hidden in private infrastructure or in plain sight. It would be too difficult to drop bombs on every single jammer. Not a viable option. Ultimately drones are easy to counter if you know what you're up against and what you're doing
If you are going to drop bombs on everything carrying a disruption device you might well just drop bombs to kill everything instead of flying in drones after your airstrike
This is the link you didn't provide straight up? What the fuck you goddamn retard why are you all like this? It's one thing if it's just some normal drone doing normal stuff, this clearly is something else. Your original post is stripped of all context and meaning and weight without this link. Why in the fuck didnt you include at first? Why in the fuck don't any of you ever just include it at first?
And yet they still had to blanket an entire cityscape?
Something doesn't add up.
Why would a military with advanced technology have to resort to such widespread damage when they had portable flying snipers?
>muh autonomous drones >muh frequency hopping >muh AI flights controls >muh facial recogniztion >muh super high res cameras
You people are all dumber than dogshit and your interference in public discourse talking horsepiss is a fucking shame. The reason you see drone footage is because nobody bothers to set-up a single jammer, all that other shit about autonomous drones would crank up the single unit price so far that it becomes unfeasible; these fucking retards don't have AI or anything like it and t's not coming anytime soon. Best they have is advanced skip logic that can aid us in very basic tasks. All this other doom and gloom the machines are coming bullshit is just gullible retards buying in to everything.
So much this. Either a net or you run for life. It’ll shoot you and you can’t even see it coming. I wonder when the elites make their moves, tech should slowly reach global overthrow levels
Yes you're right I have 0 idea how to make a pulse with home made equipment and would never do such a thing. You are very correct leaf. No civilian could ever make an easily usable EMP or grenades or flash traps. That would be crazy.
don't attach a big copper coil to a stun gun, that wont work
2 weeks ago

Listen anon, the leaf told me I can't make them and civilians don't have the equipment. Those aren't even real things that exist that you just mentioned.
And no, just a quick protip: An EMP is not some magic fucking fairy dust like idiots like you treat it.
It's like someone talks about F15's and you brag you have a pistol to shoot them down. You don't even understand how fucking stupid you sound parroting "EMP" like it solves everything while not even having the first fucking clue how to make an EMP or how it affects electronics, or what it even does to anything.
Jesus fucking christ talking with some of you must be worse than dealing with stone age fucking cavemen
Yeah you're so right anon. Civilians could NEVER manage to make EMPs its an impossible task. No one has the shit just sitting at home right now. Fuck what was I thinking?
Now now anon, civilians are incapable of making EMPs. You should learn from the leaf they know a lot about a lot.

It's not that it isn't possible, it just requires a massive upfront cost and a lot of experimentation. Your crappy capacitor-coil garbage you saw on youtube isn't shit, if it actually worked as an EMP they wouldn't have been able to record it on an unprotected electronic device while it was operating.

Nope nope you convinced me already don't backtrack you already made your statement. Civis are incapable of such magical tech. Far beyond their abilities. No one has the equipment for it. Especially not if they have a car.

Cope harder. You need a special type of oscillator tube to make an EMP, it's not something you can just buy or will have laying around. You also need to optimize the output for pulse formation, using any kind of inductor is obviously crap because it serves to impede current flow and stretch out pulses making the output weak. Not that using an inductor as the output will ever do much of anything directly outside the coil center.
Anonymous
Where is the cope? I'm agreeing with you! No civilian could ever manage something like an EMP it is just impossible.
True, you can't jam something that is not relying on a outside signal to operate.
The one thing is to shoot them down using automated systems of your own.
But, the drones we have seen is probably not all they have.
If anyone have these types of drones it would be Israel, they have the chip manufacturing, they have the funding, they have the Chinese. And the scary thing is, tho individually one of those drones would not be powerful enough to be very sophisticated (A.I. wise), but if acting as a swarm could be a flying super computer.
The only defense against something like that would be EMP and hope they where not able to shield them effectively due to their size.
Now that is all speculation, but if you are interested in murdering great quantities of people effectively, this type of system would be something ((you)) would be very interested in.
You could air drop them over a area in great quantetise, have them lay around on the ground dormant with only a few perching on vantage points motioning for activity, when anything is detected it would trigger the swarm to react, targeting and destroying any human.
You could wipe out city of millions using only 100k of these, because people would need to go into hiding essentially until they starved to death. And how do you fight back against them? Send waves of people against them until they run out of drones?
The thing that comes to mind thinking about this is the "prophesy" of 3 days of darkness (i think it's called), cover your windows, if you even peek out of a window or have any light on then something from outside will come and kill you, that whole thing.
Well, it would be like that, but not just 3 days.
WW3 will be quite interesting i think.
>How over is it with drone tech ?

You're playing chicken-and-egg.
That's a game in which AI will, sooner than later, gain the advantage, and never relinquish it.
Again, what are you teaching the AI to watch for? It seems like people in this thread are of the same mindset as boomers thinking that narrow AI = general AI.
"Just put AI on the drone and it becomes an unstoppable weapon." is fundamentally the same logic as someone like Gorbachav in the USSR thinking that if he plugged up a bunch of computers to do the work of the central planning committees it would save the Soviet Union. He actually tried this by the way.
thats not how it works, it take s a photo and memorizes it and only it. you snap/lock fire and forget, no jamming will save you

Over how great of a distance will this drone operate? What are the limitations on the size of the population that this will work on? How close will your drone have to get to identify by facial features? What is its loiter time and how will it select candidates to facially scan? If it is unable to identify the target in the allotted time, what instructions are given to the drone? If it simply falls to the ground, you've wasted your drone. If you give it orders to return to home, now you're relying on GPS and hence - signals, which can be located.
How long will a drone flying around a metropolitan area with grenades strapped to it last as it hovers down to scan people's individual faces, before alarm bells go off?
And if you're near enough to the individual for this cockamamie idea to be a viable assassination plan, why don't you just shoot them with a handgun to begin with?

That's fine, but I was responding to posters in this thread that think loading a neural network onto a drone somehow turns it into the killer bees from Black Mirror.
I don't have any problem with your idea besides the fact that it goes toward my "if all you want to do is blow up a house..." argument. If your goals are simple, your methods don't have to be complex.
If all you want to do is just to blow up a car and you were committed, you really just need a spotter on a roof.

you know that drone can't carry any payload while moving that fast right?
OK let's consoom. At say under 50 dollars what are the best available OTS drones for a dirty civie to get? Top characteristics should be affordability, ease of use and possibly durability. But at 50~ a pop if it's lost who cares.
you realize that these things will be piloted by AI that can interpret its location without continuous gps connection right? all it will need is hte initial set of coordinates, where it has to go and a visual of the target
wont need any signal at all
you can fry its electronics with emp but then you fry all electronics
the real handicap here is they cant maneouver like this and have long battery life/carry a sizeable payload
not true, you can use rudimentary supervised learning to back out your location from the parametric equations that are used to model spacial positioning
its actually pretty basic stuff by todays standards. more like 1/100th of whats actually possible with todays algorithms.
the real reason these drones require signals is because its required by law, in other words the obstacle is not technical its the legal safeguards against full autonomy
lol you realize it already does a fucktonne of processing to self stabilize right? its already got a cpu running some kernel.
id venture to say its not that different from signal processing software used to transmit and recieve, especially ocne hte model has already been trained and optimised
theres already videos online of drones doing what iv described, albeit a bit slower and with communication capabilities in order for the operator to monitor whats going on (without any intervention), its required by law
The USMC easily tricked a drone's AI during combat excercises. It's really not hard at all.
I'm honestly annoyed by this drone craze. A swarm of cheap missiles can do a much better job than the le drones.
How the fuck do you think drones can fly straight back to you automatically after flying it around all over the place?
It knows where it started, and how it moved, so it always knows the direct line back to where it started.
All it would take is giving it a flight plan from a starting point and it could do exactly what you say cant be done
A current hobby drone is already capable of doing this if you programmed a course you retard

Dead reckoning is easy enough. Hell, you don't even need AI for that, we've been doing that with rocketry since it was a thing. The imagery analysis is the sticking point and the one even the DoD is currently struggling with.
About a hundred different problems with AI "getting a visual of the target" and you know it.
sure theres problems, but if you actually go back to the start of the reply chain, you will see i was rebutting someone who claimed the point of failure is the signal communication, which it isnt
humans fuck up identification too. now try to recognize a face using a human, while viewing the visual feedback from a stunt drone like in OP
>bout a hundred different problems with AI "getting a visual of the target" and you know it.
No dumbfuck luddite, there really isn't.
Be incredulous at basic technology all you want it's not going to change shit going forward. You'll just be one of the dumbfucks who dies to a drone because "durr they can't track me"
I hate sharing this website with single-braincelled morons
If your target was something big like a house then I would agree with you, but if that's all you're trying to do then what are we even talking about here?
If you want to get a target down to a human, that can and is being done as well. Even well concealed ones can be done e.g. via IR. By the time you get down to identifying specific humans you begin to run into trouble, which being realistic is the only primary advantage of using small drones like the ones that are being discussed. Small targets that can be uniquely identified and targeted. You now run into issues of economies of scale.
This is the crux of the issue. If your goal is to generally kill a large number of enemies in something like a war, there are already better weapons than drones for that, which means your primary cost benefit of using these drones rely on something that they can't reliably do.
None of this is to speak of the overall effects and aftermath that drone warfare entails. I think these topics are too complex for you and you're thinking with a retarded brain.
Checked and agreed. No matter how cool this new tech is presented they all require a human bean to operate. AI is only a program written and maintained by a whole bunch of code monkeys and not really an AI as they want you to think.
I was predicting a terrorist attack via drone before all the war footage came out. As a terrorist myself I sat and thought about it and hobbiest drone weaponry always seemed quite powerful to me. Anyone can pilot the thing.
My idea was different. My idea was drones that sprayed liquid like a petrol/diesel mix and ignited the liquid to burn down structures. While having drones on standby which meant 10 people could stage a massive fire attack against an entire city by burning everything down.
My other idea was acid spraying drones. Drones that are completely autonomous and can detect race is a rudimentary way by detecting skin colour, this way you could have completely autonomous drones flying around spraying acid into the face of everyone who was past a certain skin shade.
I considered removing the reddit spaces but I hate giant blocks of text. The acid drone sprayer is completely possibly today without writing any code yourself. People have already made them.
I considered removing the reddit spaces but I hate giant blocks of text. The acid drone sprayer is completely possibly today without writing any code yourself. People have already made them.
Reddit spacing is a newfag meme anyway. That was a completely legitimate style of posting for well over a decade.
You can drive in the middle of nowhere, chop down a transmission line and disable entire blocks for days.
Modern infrastructure is complex but all that means is that it has really vulnerable weak points.
You want to get serious? After the electricity is generated it is sent to a transmission substation, these are massive substations operating in the 220kv or higher range. In my country there are approximately 205 of these substations, which house 2-4 transformers each. These transformers are enormous, holding around 200 gallons of mineral oil. After being sent to these tramission substations the electricity is stepped down and then sent to a zone substation, there are thousands of these, after being stepped down again the electricity is then sent to a distribution substation, there are tens of thousands of these, finally the electricity is then sent to the consumer.
If you want to take out the grid. You need to ignite the mineral oil within the giant transmission substations. Taking out 25 of the 205 which is between 45-90 transformers completely shuts down the grid. We are talking months to recover the power.
Probably not best to try and educate a literal schizo terrorist on terrorism.
That's welding. The stag welds. Find me a video of thermite melting through steel. There are hundreds of videos on youtube showing thermite to completely fail at melting through a 1/2 inch steel plate.
And don't send me the video of the thermite melting through a fucking aluminum car engine that everyone thinks is steel.

If you are talking about 9/11 and controlled demo's then there are better options available. If you are talking about destroying substation transformers, it's simply easier and more effective to directly drill into the transformer and then ignite the oil. The fire will burn for 3-5 days everything is cooked. Just make sure you wear long sleeved gloves and face gear basically a full covid suit because if the mineral oil touches your skin you die of various cancers. It's an incredibly powerful carcinogen it isn't a normal oil.
Blowing up 45+ transformers is iffy. They may not ignite. You need a lot of explosives. You need to shape them. Etc.

I had an idea for assassination drones. You take a FPV racing drone that can hit 100mph which is pretty standard for a racing drone. You then add some kind of spike to it, something that is light but strong enough maybe carbon fibre. You then crash the drone directly into your targets head.
sage
damn, that actually sounds good/cheap/effective. Why not just use a nail or a garrote strung below it and slice their neck? The garrote might make it easier to target, you could keep it packed up during normal flight then extend it when the target is acquired. And the moment of the drone might be enough to slice someone’s throat, whereas piercing a skull requires more accuracy and probably more force.
Anonymous
Slicing a carotid artery can be difficult. Testing would need to be done but I believe a hit to the back of the head at that speed would pen the skull. The benefit of targetting the head is the size and ability to come from any angle.

sage
ah, good point. Doing some rough calculations I think you can get 400gram drone at 100mph to give you roughly equivalent to 125ft lbs of force, which is more force than an arrow. This gives you probably a few hundred grams of wiggle room to mount the arrowhead and secure it. Probably also wouldn’t impart as much energy as an arrow due to differences in structure as well. Something thinner and more rigid could always work better I guess, since the drone body itself would probably stop penetration,
>Thermite will melt almost anything.
Show me thermite that you have made that can melt steel. It can't do it. I have researched this autistically. Backyard thermite will not melt a 1/2 inch steel plate. There is not one video of it on youtube. If you want to melt steel plates you need to make white phosphorus.

Drone attacks are growing in numbers all over the place.
A set and forget attack drone doesn't need a command center connection to carry out its task. It will happily go from A to B whether John Snow can talk to it or not.

Now, not so much, current AI is garbage.
None of them have the capacity to run fully auto, like, upload their "mind" to some unknown area and run awry like Skynet.
That won't happen on any level of GPT-based AI or similar, which is the best we have now.
Maybe the next or next next generation of AI could manage that. It might not even be T based, Transformers generally don't work well, especially in the efficiency department holy fuck they suck ass there. Even optimized AI models still only get reduced by 40~% on average, without hand-holding, with they can reach upwards of 70% reduction in useless weights.

>entire thread has only 1 person talking about FPV use in Ukraine
God this board is useless. In any case, the US government cannot produce large numbers of these drones, since they're all from China.
Good thing EW is a thing that literally shuts down entire areas. There is a reason why the fed gets so butt blasted when you make too much noise that it disrupts their spy network.
We're still in the musket era of drones. A lot of modern media says WW1 tier, but they're fucking idiots. The US and China won't start innovating properly until they get into a MAJOR land war, so we're still 10-20 years away from mature drone wars.
So much fuckin' money to be made refining them today though.
On that note, non-state actors will innovate quicker as they lack the bureaucracy, need to keep the MIC floating and old boys in jobs. The states will be reacting, except for RU/UA, for the foreseeable future.
>muh this >muh that
KEK both sides in Ukraine are getting clapped by consumer grade drones and thats essentially NATO vs Russia and neither side can stop it. The more I read this thread the more I'm convinced this is all bots
The company I work for is actually creating something like this. Not using EMP, but essentially an AI signals detector, classifier and direction finder. We can destroy them quite easily from there. Fully automated too, no human manning necessary.
Systems like ours will become commonplace in the next five to ten years. Best of all, our AI is smart enough to distinguish between drone signals without the use of demodulation, allowing friendly drones to stay in the air. Much cleaner than blanket jamming, much more reliable than handheld direct energy weapons they're giving out as small arms to soldiers now, as cool as those are.
Stupid post, drones make self defence even more viable since literal off-the-shelf Chinese drones are fully combat capable and can turn a one man agitator into a genuine terror threat on a survival hardcore minecraft server.
What is stopping someone from strapping homemade TNT to their drone and flying it to some glowie’s mom’s minecraft hut, loitering, then dropping it on her head when she steps outside??
Why have there been no DC Sniper copycats? It was by far the most effective small team terror campaign in history and drones/remotely activated weapons would have made it pathetically easy to get away with it, but all you saw since then were mentally ill murder-suicide blazes of glory. Is that really the best the ADHD zoomer brain can come up with? Even terrorists are having a crisis of competence.
do you think there is a reason no russian or no ukranian had thought about drones having to rely on sensors and how easy is it to blanket a large area with cheap laser domes to murder the camera in them
Yes, but if I was unsure I could stack a couple of goggles. In any case you would need an extremely powerful laser to provide a “protective dome” of a significant size.
Do you plan to equip every vehicle with one of those, in every direction? A drone swarm of $100 drones coming from all directions will take out that shit in no time.

no the idea is to have specialized vehicles >in every direction?
contrary to popular opinion, light can be bent around corners, it's called fiberglass you should check it out
because laser cutter uses specific wavelength that is combined with the eyeprotection at the same wavelength. if there is no agreement between drone and laser dome in wavelength, drone goes blind

there are currently open source online NERF-SLAMS with segmentation that run on consumer grade, 8gb RAM micro controllers (weight: about 150g)
A signal jammer can be worked around with a little electronic finesse. Even just transmitting/receiving on multiple frequencies at the same time and comparing the received signals for agreement and dropping the data from any non-match receptions will defeat most analog and digital jammers.
You don't even need any special frequency hoppers though, you can get around most jammers by just transmitting on normal radio but just selecting a whole lot of very different frequencies. The limitation of most jammers is how much of the RF spectrum they can cover, it's too prohibitive to cover the entire RF spectrum effectively especially when non-standard frequencies are in use.
"a whole lot of very different frequencies", " non-standard frequencies", you are just reading off the lines from a recent issue of popular mechanics and have no fucking idea what you are talking about in the slightest, the day of the rake cannot come soon enough
again, this a bit of a moot point because you don't really need to send or recieve for geolocation, detection and navigation any more, at least with modern solutions
>just kill the operator bro >just jam it bro

The minimum bandwidth for sending video for practical purposes is essentially anything above VHF signals, so you effectively have to cover the entire RF spectrum that can be used with easily obtainable electronics from 10 MHz to 5 GHz. That's a huge amount of frequencies to cover, you'd need an impractical amount of separate jammers working in tandem to cover everything. Most jammers will instead target standard use frequencies like the 2.4 GHz band or other commonly used communication bands like 315/433 MHz etc. If you're using non-standard frequencies then you'll need a much more sophisticated jammer system to locate the offending signals and determine if they should be even targeted or not. The transmitter will always hold the advantage over the jammer if it becomes a sort of RF arms race.

Let's use your numbers and assume we have a portable jammer with an output of 25 kW targeting the entire RF & microwave spectrum up to a frequency of 5 GHz. That jammer has an output of 5 uW/Hz. This is roughly typical of what can be carried in a small trailer or light truck.
Meanwhile let's assume your drone has a video feed with a bandwidth of 10 MHz and, being generous, an output of 5 W. That's 0.5 uW/Hz, or 1/10th the power of the jamming noise at that frequency.
The jammer can easily cover that entire bandwidth and nothing that's transmitting on fixed frequencies is going to have its signal break through the noise. To overcome that you could: 1) move away from the jammer; 2) increase power output; 3) increase gain with directionalized antennas; 4) use FHSS transmission over a greatly increased bandwidth; or 5) destroy or disable the jammer.
But in a head to head competition, the jammer wins. It would have to be a very small device not to.

>That jammer has an output of 5 uW/Hz
I don't think you understand how jammers work. You need to sweep or step an oscillator across a range of frequencies with the correct antenna and amplifier for that frequency range. It doesn't work like a powerful RF lightbulb that you just switch on and drown everything in RF.

Your claim is not accurate. Broadband jamming is old tech at this point.

Those devices work by sticking many jammers together over discrete ranges with multiple antennas. You can even see in the picture the switches for each individual jammer and antenna connection point. They still operate through sweeping across the specific frequency range. The use of "broadband" is a bit of a misnomer here to make the claim that it can operate over the entire spectrum. This can still be countered by using multiple frequencies and comparators, the fact remains that the jamming signal is never at all frequencies at the same time.

Yes, like many machines, jammers are made up of many parts working together. But that does NOT mean, as you previously asserted, that the jammer cannot continuously blanket a large swath of the spectrum. You are simply wrong and your understanding is way out of date.

The power output across the entire frequency range becomes so small that it can't jam effectively. If it was such a good jammer the government would make them highly illegal so you don't disrupt communications in a city. There's no magic blanket technology, it doesn't work like that, the transmitter could easily just boost their signal power to compensate.
Anonymous
Its exactly what they do anon
I did specify it wasn't practical, but it is what they do
2 weeks ago
Anonymous
It's not what they do because the transmitter could easily beat it by boosting their transmission power and take advantage of the locking property of FM radio.

But they literally do

Are you spermicide so much you aren't seeing the part that says it isn't practical for the use anon is talking about?

Anonymous
If it can be beat by just turning up the output power a little on your transmitter it's not effective for jamming. Typically the jammer has to output intense power so the transmitter can't beat it this way, you need to sweep with a high power signal to do that.

Anonymous
So you admit it does it, but justify saying it doesn't by pointing out its impractical
You're legitimately retarded, thats exactly what I said multiple times

No, you would need to be broadcasting at gigawatt levels to jam every frequency all at once for it to be effective. There's no magic all-the-frequencies radio.
I think we’re talking past each other. I have a piece of software on my laptop at this very moment that is able to identify the signal of a Mavic whether it’s at 100MHz, 760MHz or 2.4GHz. At that point I don’t need to jam from an entire range from 100-2400, I just need to blast energy at those specific frequencies in microscopic bursts and it’s toast. I can easily direction find it at the same time and get an azimuth from it too, all from a device the size of a hardcover novel. Once I have the direction, I can use direct energy to jam it or even conventional ballistics.
You’re talking about an outdated countermeasure, I promise you.

In the realm of signals intelligence? Lurk the Skyking threads on this board to get comfortable with the basics if you’re aren’t already. For cheapies, just get an RTL-SDR and some basic spectrum monitoring software. Sceptre is the gold standard if you have money. If you have a little more cash look into the Ettus line of SDRs. I personally hate the ham community but if that’s your thing, some people like it. It depends on what you want to do after that. Do you want to learn about EW and jamming? Do you want to do sketchy shit like demodulate and create cell site simulators? It’s a big world.

You can just use non-standard frequencies. Your software only knows where to look because those specific frequencies are standard use for a Mavic drone. It's easy to develop a countermeasure against a jammer, the opposite is not true however. If everything could just be jammed so easily the entire US drone fleet would be scrapped by now.
Anonymous
No man, you misunderstood. I was using those frequencies as examples, not what I’m limited to. It doesn’t matter where your Mavic goes anywhere between 100-6000MHz, I’ll see you. That’s the point. You change modulations? Get a different brand? I train a new model, now I can see that drone anywhere up and down the spectrum in the same way.

Okay... so if your magic jammer works so well why can the US military operate their drones all over the world and have no worries about jamming. You wont answer this because the truth is that jamming isn't a magic solution to deal with the problem and can be worked around easily.

>Okay... so if your magic jammer works so well why can the US military operate their drones all over the world and have no worries about jamming.
They can't. Not only can they be jammed but Iran has managed to commandeer a few of them by spoofing GPS and control signals. Russian and Chinese capabilities are significantly more advanced.

Because it’s new tech. Brand new. The idea of signals classification using AI based on training a neural net off raw IQ hasn’t been done before. Our hardest competitors train on oscilloscope readings or even visualized IQ data (literally like PNG images of data lmao), not the data itself.
Look man I know it sounds far fetched, but it’s real and it’s coming and I’m super tempted to doxx myself right now and prove it.
Anonymous
I should reiterate also that my software isn’t looking at those frequencies because the neural net thinks a Mavic will be there. The NN is trained on the raw IQ energy your drone is putting out itself. It is not trained for frequency ID specifically for that reason.

You could just defeat this with additional decoy RF emitters to overwhelm your jammer output coverage. You aren't going to win my guy, there's always an easy counter.

You’d have to get decoys close enough to interfere, which would defeat the purpose of using a drone. Unless you’re talking about using a swarm of drones, and then it’s just a matter of scaling up the solution I’m talking about.

It doesn't matter if you can triangulate and monitor, you could just use a low-tech solution like a Yagi antenna pointed with lidar at the drone. It can still be countered, there's no magic neural net solution that fixes the lopsidedness of the problem. The transmitting individual can always develop a counter much more easily than that of the jammer.

Just saying that countermeasures will be developed in the future to beat my countermeasures isn’t a great argument. That’s the whole history of the world. Anyway, thread limit soon. Someone make a new thread if you want to keep talking.

No what I'm getting at is that you can put an intense amount of effort into making your jammer and it can be countered with minimal effort through some change in transmitting strategy. It's a lopsided game you can't win at.
Anonymous
You keep saying the same thing. If you do a combination of switching frequencies, fast frequency hopping, changing modulation, etc. that you can’t be found. If you’re putting out any kind of signals emissions you can be found. In milliseconds.
Anonymous
You could also find the drone with lidar or radar which there are systems in existence that already do that. Jamming signals is an entirely different story, easy to do if someone is just using off the shelf items, but if they actually put effort into countering jamming and make their own proprietary communication system they're going to win in the end.
Anonymous
No dude. Proprietary comms and encryption deal with modulation, not energy. The NN is trained on raw IQ. The physical layer energy it’s putting out. Literally energy itself.
I don’t know how many different ways to say the same thing. You’re operating on outdated information.

>If everything could just be jammed so easily the entire US drone fleet would be scrapped by now.
American drones usually fly at high altitudes away from ground based jammers. They also use directionalized antennas most of the time so that most of the RF output from the drone is directed into space. Still, all of this can be jammed by an advanced adversary.
Lol no. Object detection software is free. What kind of “AI” protection do you plan to use when a drone with an artillery grenade locks on to the image of your car?

i'm pretty sure you can never block the information needed to manufacture jammers or EMPs... all you need to do is to pirate the right physics books and make the most efficient one you can make.
>No one has the shit just sitting at home right now.
Correct.
This is literally the "liberals of facebook" argument of "what are you gonna do with your AR15s when the gubment has F15?? checkmate MAGAts!"
You are missing the forest for the trees.
Where is the cope? I'm agreeing with you! No civilian could ever manage something like an EMP it is just impossible.
Except reality you pop sci soiboi
Autopilot is not new or science fiction you inbred dumbass.

You're playing chicken-and-egg.
That's a game in which AI will, sooner than later, gain the advantage, and never relinquish it.
you know that drone can't carry any payload while moving that fast right?
how long do you think before it can, dumbass
not in the next 5 centuries
self contained AI that can be loaded onto the drone directly, it's just a few if and else statements
I could go on all night. I keep saying how it's not so fucking simple and people don't listen.

You don’t need “AI”. You need open source object recognition like “Motion”. It’s free and easy to use.
See:
Substitute AI for object recognition system of choice and you have the same issues.
I’m not talking facial recognition. I’m talking about flying manually outside the range of jamming, locking on to a limo and press “auto”
That's fine, but I was responding to posters in this thread that think loading a neural network onto a drone somehow turns it into the killer bees from Black Mirror.
I don't have any problem with your idea besides the fact that it goes toward my "if all you want to do is blow up a house..." argument. If your goals are simple, your methods don't have to be complex.

wont need any signal at all
you can fry its electronics with emp but then you fry all electronics
the real handicap here is they cant maneouver like this and have long battery life/carry a sizeable payload
ai will need to 10x what it can do before I would trust it doing anything like this
not true, you can use rudimentary supervised learning to back out your location from the parametric equations that are used to model spacial positioning
its actually pretty basic stuff by todays standards. more like 1/100th of whats actually possible with todays algorithms.
the real reason these drones require signals is because its required by law, in other words the obstacle is not technical its the legal safeguards against full autonomy
You sound like a retarded homosexual who thinks tech has to be perfect before its usable
nagger it can be utter dogshit at targeting people by itself and it's still going to be insane
>All that processing power
lol that's not happening anytime soon.
lol you realize it already does a fucktonne of processing to self stabilize right? its already got a cpu running some kernel.
id venture to say its not that different from signal processing software used to transmit and recieve, especially ocne hte model has already been trained and optimised
theres already videos online of drones doing what iv described, albeit a bit slower and with communication capabilities in order for the operator to monitor whats going on (without any intervention), its required by law
The USMC easily tricked a drone's AI during combat excercises. It's really not hard at all.
I'm honestly annoyed by this drone craze. A swarm of cheap missiles can do a much better job than the le drones.
>Hide under blanket
>Drone can't see you
Woah....
so fucking what? javelins have a 0% dud rate?
complete non argument
You're just supporting my argument that missiles are better than drones.
Lmao, fucking scrub. We already went through an arms race from Optical Warfare. Drones are only good against poorfags and Slavs, worthless everywhere else
no fuckwit, i understand with your ayemeraikayynnenee educaasheuyennn that comprehending english is extremely difficult, but when i tell you that the issue you are referencing is just as prevalent with the alternative proposal, that is NOT supporting your alternative proposal
you are pretty fucking stupid mutt
You're really not giving good arguments, so you're indirectly supporting me 先生.
Drones are easily neutralizable. They're worthless against ECM. At least a missile can be dumb if it's disrupted.
You're stupid, just like a drone AI
stop conflating "bad" with "incomprehensible", you being too stupid to understand an argument has no bearing on the validity of that argument
you have demonstrated this twice now in two separate instances
>stop conflating "bad" with "incomprehensible"
It's valid in the English language and in this case too.
You're giving too much credit to drones and I'm telling you you're silly. AI on drones are worthless if the enemy knows how to counter it. If a blanket can trick a drone's AI, it's futile.
>an argument has no bearing on the validity of that argument
ESL-kun, I....
>It's valid in the English language and in this case too.
no retard, they are not considered synonymous in any context. i strongly suggest you kill yourself mutt, you are just too stupid, well beyond saving
>not considered synonymous in any context
Oh, I'm so ashamed and scared! Thankfully your incomprehensible dream drone will never catch me.
>A swarm of cheap missiles can do a much better job than the le drones.
Drones ARE very cheap missiles. With the bonus that they can loiter for half an hour before they attack... or possibly even fly back if there's nothing worth hitting.
surveillance drones to get coordinates, then artillery seems to be the most effective way
>surveillance drones to get coordinates, then artillery seems to be the most effective way
The bomber drones have gotten all the attention but artillery spotting is where they really shine.
general battlefield C3I is where they shine
every unit should have an "AWACS" drone, from platoon size up
You wouldnt send an automated drone to hit an individual you spastic fuck
The context being discussed was infrastructure you retard, it doesn't move and it can't hide
You had me until...
>visual of the target
I think these topics are too complex for you and you're thinking with a retarded brain.
>you can use futuristic ai to pilot drones but cant use futuristic ai to defend against them.
eat shit leaf
AI is overrated
doesn't matter. a proper insurgent wont even be recognized as an enemy until its too late
Checked and agreed. No matter how cool this new tech is presented they all require a human bean to operate. AI is only a program written and maintained by a whole bunch of code monkeys and not really an AI as they want you to think.
No need complicate things.
Glad someone else thinks like i do.
>suicide drone
>shrapnel launches through and eats your face
woops
Naaa, that won't work now will it?
You gotta get one of these on your EDC laddy
I'm schizo btw.
and a reddit spacing homosexual
I considered removing the reddit spaces but I hate giant blocks of text. The acid drone sprayer is completely possibly today without writing any code yourself. People have already made them.
Reddit spacing is a newfag meme anyway. That was a completely legitimate style of posting for well over a decade.
Holy fuck do they teach you autists what paragraphs are
You can drive in the middle of nowhere, chop down a transmission line and disable entire blocks for days.
Modern infrastructure is complex but all that means is that it has really vulnerable weak points.
It will be fixed within a day. Does nothing.
>200 gallons.
I meant 2000 gallons. Here is a photo of a transformer found in a transmission substation.
You want to destroy one? Cordless drill straight into it. Thermite won't work it's steel thermite only really melts aluminum.
>thermite only really melts aluminum.

Post a video.
Should have just posted the twin towers on 9/11
The main support beams are cut through shaped charges. Not thermite.
couldn’t you just use something like tannerite? or too heavy to inflict real damage?
Etc.
i like ur drone ideas. got any more schizo bro?
I had an idea for assassination drones. You take a FPV racing drone that can hit 100mph which is pretty standard for a racing drone. You then add some kind of spike to it, something that is light but strong enough maybe carbon fibre. You then crash the drone directly into your targets head.
damn, that actually sounds good/cheap/effective.
Slicing a carotid artery can be difficult. Testing would need to be done but I believe a hit to the back of the head at that speed would pen the skull. The benefit of targetting the head is the size and ability to come from any angle.
ah, good point. Something thinner and more rigid could always work better I guess, since the drone body itself would probably stop penetration,
Who told you this? Thermite will melt almost anything.
>Backyard thermite will not melt a 1/2 inch steel plate
the thicker the plate the better it will dissipate heat
you need to contain the thermite somewhat
>It will be fixed within a day.
Nothing gets fixed within a day in this day and age
I'm a linesman. I work on sustaining the grid. We can fix individual lines within hours. You have to completely destroy the substation transformers mate and not the little ones otherwise no one will give a fuck about your little 8 hour blackout. Lines go down all the time we fix them.
My robot is listening.
fuels are too heavy
light explosive materials will do more damage, perhaps thermite
Thermite is junk that only works against aluminum. Won't burn through steel unless you have 25lb of it.
and how many steel beams can you melt with 25lb of jet fuel?
theres a reason all the footage from ukraine is of suicide drones that use explosives
still, drones are a very good attack vector for terrorists, im pretty sure to buy one here you have to jump through hoops and get listed
you cant fly em near airports or military installations either
>Explosive
>Thermite
Anon you keep putting sentences together using vernacular like a second year undergrad in ways that don't quite make sense to anyone with actual knowledge in these fields.
i cant help your autism bro, its a message board, you really expect me to specify the correct alternative pyrotechnic composite category, no, il just call it fucking thermite you spastic fuck
dealing your type when coding is the absolute fucking worst
It's not pedantry. You're just wrong. Flat out. Thermite isn't explosive you retard. It's one step removed from saying, "I'm gonna put cans of whipped cream on an attack drone because they're explosive!"
You could have just said a grenade. Instead you tried to make yourself seem smarter but ended up sounding even more retardeder.
And if you aren't into specificity in coding then what the fuck are you doing coding?
Go to bed, tomorrow's a school day.
>Thermite isn't explosive you retard
no shit, now if only you were capable of controlling your spastic autism and not sperging out when i dont clearly state this obvious fucking fact for you in my posts
>It's not pedantry.

nice strawman homosexual
OH SORRY
i mean nice "informal logical fallacy commonly referred to as a strawman argument". happy now, was that enough to restrain your autism there pedant?
that sounds extremely complicated. a drone containing a chemical weapon is much more likely
What about a bioweapon. Areosolized tetrodotoxin, ricin or botulism. Anthrax and its like are too difficult to make but the others any idiot can make.
Presidential motorcades seems very vulnerable today.
Inb4 “jamming” You fly manual until you acquire the target visually from a distance , then object detection software fly the drone from there.
Is this the beginning of Limo cope cages?
It does make me think something like this is going to happen sooner or later.
Drone attacks are growing in numbers all over the place.
A set and forget attack drone doesn't need a command center connection to carry out its task. It will happily go from A to B whether John Snow can talk to it or not.
With basic image recognition it can follow a simple target reasonably well (like that instance of the Russian guy being chased in a bike in a drone, that scenario is trivial to do with basic ass open source image recognition for a short distance without running out of power)
The tech is out there, the knowledge is out there, the malicious unstable geopolitical climate is now out there...
China could probably drop a carrier now with a clever drone storm. We aren't stopping 1000 rigged drones converging from 360*.
Imagine that huge China balloon scenario again.
Huge "science" platform that ends up shitting out fucking hundreds of drones that just go ham on some region.
The swarm wars are coming.
retarded fucking nonsense based on an understanding of physics learned from "science" fiction/superhero movies, from someone on twitter no less

The israelites fear the biker.
It's the weapon of cowards who fold like cardboard when you find their nest.
I got one. A drone that sprays fentanyl in liquid form. Lmfao. Cunts just dropping as soon as it hits them.
figure out how those russian ew trucks work
If they want to kill you they can just send a sniper. Drones are a meme.
drones and ai robots will be a huge mistake
Now, not so much, current AI is garbage.
None of them have the capacity to run fully auto, like, upload their "mind" to some unknown area and run awry like Skynet.
That won't happen on any level of GPT-based AI or similar, which is the best we have now.
Maybe the next or next next generation of AI could manage that. It might not even be T based, Transformers generally don't work well, especially in the efficiency department holy fuck they suck ass there. Even optimized AI models still only get reduced by 40~% on average, without hand-holding, with they can reach upwards of 70% reduction in useless weights.
Drones are powerful but anti drone technology is fairly simple and straight forward.
man-portable cope cages.
going to start a company now.
let there be aerial combat
T. Based drone pilot
And by the way white phosphorus isn't that difficult to make. It just takes months to refine the chemicals.
>Good luck with your self defense
Thanks, you too.

what kind of browning semi is this?
it's either a FN Auto 5 or a Remington Model 11.
Get you one.
https://www.guns.com/firearms/shotguns/semi-auto/remington-model-11-12-ga-semi-automatic-4-rounds-30-barrel-used?p=1040919
its a browning Auto 5 but i've never seen the barrel that short. your picrel is borning semi but thats not 12 thats like a 410
It's a modded model 11, and you're a nagger that doesn't even understand what a tax stamp is needed for.
oh wow, remmington completely copied browning! go back to your circle jerk on /k/ and what the fuck are you talking about a tax stamp on a short barrel shotgun?
You're trolling poorly. I think I'll fuck off now.
its a semi automatic two chicks at the same time
Lead lined bunker, tinfoil wall paper, portable emps. Come @ me
Balloons. Some helium and latex BTFO's your entire force.
Governments already have many things that are way better than drones. Drones existing just increases the opportunities that the weaker side in an asymmetrical conflict has.
Video is sped up
I fucking hate electricity bros. You wouldn't believe how much of my time is spent thinking about how I would destroy this stuff. And I'm a linesman. I intentionally picked this job so that I would be close to my enemy. I fucking despise this country.
I will have my revenge.
are people not aware of drone signal disruption nets?
>entire thread has only 1 person talking about FPV use in Ukraine
God this board is useless. In any case, the US government cannot produce large numbers of these drones, since they're all from China.
>people arguing about drone effectiveness post ukraine
???????
It's obviously over
note the flags of all the retards arguing against its effectiveness
>effectiveness
of what? making gore propaganda vids? you can't win a war with drones and VOGs
The states will be reacting, except for RU/UA, for the foreseeable future.
reminder that it's leftists who want the population to have guns in order to carry out revolutions
>muh this
>muh that
KEK both sides in Ukraine are getting clapped by consumer grade drones and thats essentially NATO vs Russia and neither side can stop it. The more I read this thread the more I'm convinced this is all bots
Double-oh-seven has spoken.
old school anti air guns would turn them into scrap
A CIPHER??
I want to build one from scratch, not sure where to start but its gonna be fun
We need to create EMP weapons and special forces trained to fight without any electronics
For every measure, a countermeasure emerges.
>special forces trained to fight without any electronics
>we'll see chuds killing israelites and naggers with drone loaded with ar15s in our lifetime
I might be ok with this
the drones will kill you at your most valurnrable and that will be it hecking science saves day agian
Stupid post, drones make self defence even more viable since literal off-the-shelf Chinese drones are fully combat capable and can turn a one man agitator into a genuine terror threat on a survival hardcore minecraft server.
What is stopping someone from strapping homemade TNT to their drone and flying it to some glowie’s mom’s minecraft hut, loitering, then dropping it on her head when she steps outside??
ok fag you might be alright, dont expect to here me say that ever again
Just fire that at someone who has committed evil against the population and watch things change real quick.
Because this is the matrix and we're just baiting you to see if you will do it.
I'll just sit back and wait for the collapse. Nothing will really change until most people are starving.
a peer war is going to have so much emp thrown around that we will go back to fucking carrier pigeons
How much does it cost to make vs how much does it cost to destroy?
fake poojeet tier cg
>How over is it with drone tech ?
I'd say bird netting and #4 shot in my shotgun should handle things pretty well.
do you think there is a reason no russian or no ukranian had thought about drones having to rely on sensors and how easy is it to blanket a large area with cheap laser domes to murder the camera in them
I use laser protection goggles when operating my laser cutter. So could the drone cameras.
you know what frequency your cutter operates at
Yes, but if I was unsure I could stack a couple of goggles. In any case you would need an extremely powerful laser to provide a “protective dome” of a significant size.
you sound retarded
Do you plan to equip every vehicle with one of those, in every direction? A drone swarm of $100 drones coming from all directions will take out that shit in no time.
>Do you plan to equip every vehicle with one of those
no the idea is to have specialized vehicles
>in every direction?
contrary to popular opinion, light can be bent around corners, it's called fiberglass you should check it out
because laser cutter uses specific wavelength that is combined with the eyeprotection at the same wavelength. if there is no agreement between drone and laser dome in wavelength, drone goes blind
drones are a problem but there are solutions
That looks gay as shit, if you brought that to a battlefield you would die immediately even if it worked the way it was supposed to.
I would stick that shit right in your mouth
>just kill the operator bro
>just jam it bro
there are currently open source online NERF-SLAMS with segmentation that run on consumer grade, 8gb RAM micro controllers (weight: about 150g)
conclusion is
signal jammer wins.
if ai advanced enough to not need signal, then use advanced ai defence against ai drone
/thread
A signal jammer can be worked around with a little electronic finesse. Even just transmitting/receiving on multiple frequencies at the same time and comparing the received signals for agreement and dropping the data from any non-match receptions will defeat most analog and digital jammers.
Not true anymore.
Fast frequency hoppers can be identified by AI software that is on the market at this very moment, with no demodulation necessary.
The transmitter will always hold the advantage over the jammer if it becomes a sort of RF arms race.
home-on-jam is also a thing
Broadband jamming is old tech at this point.
http://www.sesp.com/VeryHighPowerBroadband.asp
Those devices work by sticking many jammers together over discrete ranges with multiple antennas. You can even see in the picture the switches for each individual jammer and antenna connection point. They still operate through sweeping across the specific frequency range. The use of "broadband" is a bit of a misnomer here to make the claim that it can operate over the entire spectrum. This can still be countered by using multiple frequencies and comparators, the fact remains that the jamming signal is never at all frequencies at the same time.
IR laser guided drone packages.
Yes, like many machines, jammers are made up of many parts working together. But that does NOT mean, as you previously asserted, that the jammer cannot continuously blanket a large swath of the spectrum. You are simply wrong and your understanding is way out of date.
Honestly that’s the best way of putting it. You’re operating on outdated information bro. You would have been right ten years ago, but not now.
You don't know what you're talking about.
lmao i gave you a link to a COTS product that works exactly the way I described. You're completely full of shit bro
Those things have been around forever, they operate on sweeping.
>Those things have been around forever, they operate on sweeping.
Only if you have a very shitty low power ECM that can't adequately cover all of the necessary components of the spectrum at once. But there is no reason at the physical electronics level why this would be necessary.
A giant tesla coil does exactly that
Still not practical for the uses anon is talking about thougj
The power output across the entire frequency range becomes so small that it can't jam effectively. If it was such a good jammer the government would make them highly illegal so you don't disrupt communications in a city. There's no magic blanket technology, it doesn't work like that, the transmitter could easily just boost their signal power to compensate.
Its exactly what they do anon
I did specify it wasn't practical, but it is what they do
It's not what they do because the transmitter could easily beat it by boosting their transmission power and take advantage of the locking property of FM radio.
But they literally do
Saying you could beat it with a stronger signal is admitting they do it
Are you spermicide so much you aren't seeing the part that says it isn't practical for the use anon is talking about?
Calm down boy
If it can be beat by just turning up the output power a little on your transmitter it's not effective for jamming. Typically the jammer has to output intense power so the transmitter can't beat it this way, you need to sweep with a high power signal to do that.
So you admit it does it, but justify saying it doesn't by pointing out its impractical
You're legitimately retarded, thats exactly what I said multiple times
If your argument is something isn't jamming if you can iverpower it then nothing is a jammed, it just becomes a power comparison
You have a weird flavour of autism anon
Well on the plus side, the more they crank up the power, the easier it is to find them, so it’s a win-win lmao
You’re talking about an outdated countermeasure, I promise you.
>lapChud, Destroyer of RO's
what would you recommend for cheapmaxxers trying to survive the future?
In the realm of signals intelligence? Lurk the Skyking threads on this board to get comfortable with the basics if you’re aren’t already. For cheapies, just get an RTL-SDR and some basic spectrum monitoring software. Sceptre is the gold standard if you have money. If you have a little more cash look into the Ettus line of SDRs. I personally hate the ham community but if that’s your thing, some people like it. It depends on what you want to do after that. Do you want to learn about EW and jamming? Do you want to do sketchy shit like demodulate and create cell site simulators? It’s a big world.
I just want some shit that feds can't jam and that I can afford on mini wagies. I'm a retard who browses pol, not some comm wizard nerd who can throw a spool of copper wire on the ground and pick up hf from japan
Lurk the Skyking thread, king.
Russian and Chinese capabilities are significantly more advanced.
nigga the iranians bring them down
The Iranians didn't use traditional jamming though, they used a spoof attack to trick the drone into believing it was getting safe signals. It was a major blunder by the US caused by being lazy naggers and just using the same software protocol with every new model.
An intelligent jammer isn't just jamming, it's also monitoring and triangulating. Any decent bitcoin mining rig ought to be able to run the blind source separation algorithms necessary to detect and physically locate a large number of decoys.
Correct.
I can’t tell you what will dominate tomorrow, I’m just telling you that what all these anons think is some super weapon ain’t all that, and a lot of what people think make them so invulnerable have already have countermeasures on the market today.
Anyway, thread limit soon. Someone make a new thread if you want to keep talking.
No what I'm getting at is that you can put an intense amount of effort into making your jammer and it can be countered with minimal effort through some change in transmitting strategy. It's a lopsided game you can't win at.
You keep saying the same thing. If you do a combination of switching frequencies, fast frequency hopping, changing modulation, etc. that you can’t be found. If you’re putting out any kind of signals emissions you can be found. In milliseconds.
You could also find the drone with lidar or radar which there are systems in existence that already do that. Jamming signals is an entirely different story, easy to do if someone is just using off the shelf items, but if they actually put effort into countering jamming and make their own proprietary communication system they're going to win in the end.
No dude. Proprietary comms and encryption deal with modulation, not energy. The NN is trained on raw IQ. The physical layer energy it’s putting out. Literally energy itself.
I don’t know how many different ways to say the same thing. You’re operating on outdated information.
And you have detailed any changes in transmitting strategy so far that can’t be defeated by market ready products.
>It doesn't matter if you can triangulate and monitor
Keep saying that when the artillery is incoming
And by the way, the AI is also good enough to differentiate between Mavic uplink and downlink, which means I can find the operator as well as the drone.
And if I’ve found the operator, it’s lights out.
>The NN is trained on the raw IQ energy your drone is putting out itself.
What is IQ energy?

>If everything could just be jammed so easily the entire US drone fleet would be scrapped by now.
American drones usually fly at high altitudes away from ground based jammers. They also use directionalized antennas most of the time so that most of the RF output from the drone is directed into space. Still, all of this can be jammed by an advanced adversary.
Lol no. Object detection software is free. What kind of “AI” protection do you plan to use when a drone with an artillery grenade locks on to the image of your car?
holy christ, the stupidity knows no national or continental borders does it
So you ran out of arguments.
how am i supposed to argue with a kitchen table?
Can anyone explain why drones have yet be strapped with a bomb and flown into politicians or crowded places yet?
I mean duh fuck?
Westerners are gigantic pussies, they won't use a drone for something like that for the same reason they don't cause any other sort of mischief.
not even a good shoeing
I think you meant to say White people aren't savages. Your welcome shitskin
Good question. Pretty sure high levels use jammers at events but you would think shielded pre-mapped drones would tank that.
no one cares about your twitter friends, post a webm or kill yourself
Just go in a forest, no? Surely it can't dodge branches at that speed
Imagine all these fat LARPers
>Im gunna take the gunbint with my AR15, 1776 will commence ag-ACK!
i always wondered why racing drones weren't being used to attack tanks etc and they used slow drones instead
yes im sure goldenbergstein will be a magnificent drone operator and technician
It just means militaries will diver more money to drone and anti drone warfare. You would have to be a fucking retard now to join up in the military to hop in a tank or a trench.
>hop in a tank or a trench.
yeah ukraine showed that.
get in the the drone pilot angle maybe.
Fentanyl drones.
Literal battery graveyard on that workbench. I think my chances are pretty good.
A swarm drone setup that uses observation stand-off drones which guide munitions drones would defeat everything outside of a hard EMP.
Clearly we need another thread, this argument is too fun to let die.
Make one. I should have gone to bed hours ago, but I’m an autist for electromagnetism.
We should take this to Skyking general when the thread dies. I am actually enjoying this.
How over is it with duck hunting or clay pigeon shooting?
Buy a fkn shotgun and practice, moron.
Text thing will be drone radars/detectors for infantry, what does it take to take down a stupid drone 1-2 bullets ?
