I believe that’s the exact reason skin fades were made popular, as a constant stream of revenue for barbers

Yeah probably but it backfires a bit because you start at skin fade and it grows out to a normal fade for the next month so it still looks tidy for a while before your next cut.

I usually get 0 on the sides and grow it out over the next few months.
But a lot of people want that fresh out the barbershop look so they end up going every week.

at my peak I was going every 6 days. Had a pomp and a scissor trim to fade along the side. Since then I have alternated from growing out and buzzing it. I learned how to cut my own hair during covid. We had a doggie that we were going to groom and I learned on the dog clippers and scissors and still use them. Does the job. I let my brother and gf at the time do it and heck it up several times until I figured it out.

Once a year or twice. All I do is make a ponytail at lowest area in the middle where hair grows then cut everything that is longer than desired from the point where ponytail starts with scissors or a knife if it is long enough.

heck barbers. I wouldn’t be caught dead with a haircut that I paid for.

I am lazy so I usually go, get it cut short, then it gradually gets longer and messier until three-four months later I’m in desperate need for a haircut. I decided to be more strict a few months back.

I’ve now set a monthly alarm to get a haircut on my phone and go that day, no excuses. I just went today. I always get scissor cut on top to around 1.5 inches and a three on the sides/neck. Takes like 10 minutes. No fade bullshit.

I don’t like long hair anymore. My hair gets greasy really fast(genetic) so I constantly feel dirty when I have long hair and it gets in my face.

i have a good barber, know him for years, trust, all that good shit but this motherhecker has raised his prices to 45$ for hair + beard AND wants a decent tip on top of it. its my understanding thats like the going rate in any populated area for a pretty solid quality cut. when i need to go every 2-3 weeks its getting to be way too much. in my town decent barbers seem like they are top tier celebrities or some shit.
