If that was true you'd be writing it in HolyC.

Python isn't a real language. It's a glorified package manager which runs 3rd party code written in better languages and pipes the results together.

It's a fulfillment of Unix philosophy, which is nice. Unfortunately Python made some incredibly moronic syntax decisions, like using significant whitespace.

    Just learn c# and unity
You could probably download a asset pack that has 99% of what you need

If I were to make a shitty text-adventure game I'd definetly take the thread thats on IQfy right now as inspiration.
    Genre : Horror Mystery.
TLDR: Anon gets hired by a misterious millionaire to caretake of his property in the woods separate from any living soul miles and miles away. His job is basically just to exist in a creepy cabin innawoods. Anon finds gay gay magazine, button for a childrens clothes, stop child abuse pin and a toy lizard. Anon finds an uncharted place on the property and discovers a well. He is drawn to it and keeps digging around it, even dreaming it - there's something very eerie about the well he even made a YouTube video about it. Anon finds A LOT of dead lizards in the sink. Anon finds a stone with a painting of a lizard on it. What I'd make the game about is a weird pedo lizard cult that hired our protagonist of the game to hunt him and sacrifice him to their cult. You have to escape the cult or bring them down to win the game.
If I had the means I'd do it myself, it's a fun idea . Might strike gold with this thing.

Python is pretty useful tool for almost everything except games. Too much unnecessary algorithms throwing away just for a simple for-loop and it's interpreted! Should at least use C++.

Python is just a meme. There's no compelling argument on using Python for any purpose.

you need to know how to print text, how to put things in variables, how to take input, and condition statements

can you memorize five things? you've got enough to write your vidya.

Python is a high level why would you use it to make the most basic low level game?!
    Why not Try C?

If your only goal is to make a text adventure just use Twine.
