How much battery charge should I be expecting with a refurbished t490s? I'm only getting about 6 hours on the one I just got. Would it be worth it to get a different battery?

      how sir, elaborate please.

my t495 I think is at 80-90% capacity and I think it is at 4 hours average. I have the ryzen 7 model.

do you homosexuals really think this? This is why macbooks will always be better. 14 hours battery life easily. If you had a macbook then you can't use le battery life as an excuse not to go outside more often

Yeah my six year old Lenovo gets that and it cost me $700 new.

why would you go outside with your notebook for hours dumb homosexual tranny? To sit in a starbucks or what? And if you need your laptop for a longer time frame charger exist, you know?

While I do agree that windows laptops usually have mediocre battery life, all the tomfuckery that comes with apple's hardware greatly outweights long battery life of modern ARM macbooks. Lack of IO and poor thermal design (to the point that it melts your keyboard https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwwXZKzKF44) are serious concerns for many people, just to name a few .Not to mention that you are forced to accept all weird decisions that apple makes in regards of software, like (possibly) disabling Rosetta 2 in your region for whatever reason.

I have a t470 with the smallest battery option and I get 6-8 hours if I'm just browsing the web. I also have my system tuned to use ~4w on idle.

Well the t470 has two batteries, to start. So if you're super concerned you can carry around multiple external batteries and hotswap to get 12+ hours. As for my idle usage, I just use pretty stock base Manjaro Linux with i3 and compositing disabled. When browsing the web use some kind of JS blocker and whitelist what you need. That shit eats a lot of CPU cycles.

T495 has shit battery life and probably on of the shittiest ryzens in a thinkpad. I have one as well and trying to get rid of it.

I don't even know man. I might get t14 gen4 amd but the 7840 seems weird with its high idle power draw. I'm thinking either that or elitebook 845 g10 7840u, but not really enthusiastic about any of those. I'm afraid that keeping the t495 might be the best idea since everything is shit, but it is getting kinda slow and sketchy.

Noticed that myself now people are starting to receive 7840's CPU's, at first I thought it might be the OLED screens but seems to be an issue even on low power FHD IPS screens
I'm considering a T14s gen3 6850U, much better power usage. Or maybe even a P14s since it comes with an ethernet port

    >Would it be worth it to get a different battery?
It's only really worth it to get a battery when the old one dies and you can't afford to always keep it powered.
Otherwise it doesn't matter much if it's 2 or 8 hours.

I used to get about 4 to 5 on my t480 when I bought it. I got a 72mAh battery brand new for like $30 on ebay and it extended it to like 8 to 9 hours. This is running linux too.
