I have a Henson, the blades were cheap and it shaves fine. I’ll probably save 100 bucks a year for the next 10 years. Plus, it looks more manly than a Gillette if that’s your preference

I’ve been using it for two or so years now. Still using the same 100-pack of blades i got with it. I only use warm water (and body scrub if im shaving legs, crotch, arms, etc). Highly recommended.

Thanks guys I ordered mine and I have to deal with international shipping hopefully it will arrive within 9 days but I’m so eager to have it

Totally organic posting and DEFINITELY not an ad…

Thread. It’s a shitskin trying to poison you with aluminum. They can’t afford stainless steel and lack the furnaces to melt it down. Aluminum has a low melting point which allows shitskins to cast gimmick items like cheap shitty double bladed safety razors.

If it’s not stainless steel, then don’t buy it.

Wow CNCd! Translation: a shitty 3d printer tier third world tier setup of ALUMINUM shit.

Why would I want this when I can get stainless for the same hecking price?

          • Sieg says:

            CNC what? Milled?

You want to argue about CNC stuff let’s hecking do it

6061 is dirt cheap, that’s why this is made out of aluminum.

You can probably belay those heads so probably get 10 per cycle for about $2 a bar.

Handle in a lathe is rather simple, turned with some grooving tools and a run a thread on some live tooling maybe sub $0.50 per handle

Anodizing for that part in type 2 is about $1

Those are quoted made in USA parts.

I can probably have a program for you in less than a day, 30 min setup on the mill and I’m a little slower on lathe setups

          • Sieg says:

I make my parts in USA you stupid

            Aerospace doesn’t mean shit

I’m running 5 tenths tolerances for firearms which is tighter than industry standard of 5 thou

            These razors are shit

If the cost difference of $20 or $100 between something makes any difference in your life whatsoever then you’re a failure and have no hope of any sort of comfort and are a miserable drone trading his time for money just to survive and such an existence is so pathetic it’s beyond pity. You might as well just stop caring about appearance or shaving or anything at that point and admit you’ve lost.

          • Anonymous says:

I was asking how much a ss razor would cost to make. I thought the context would be obvious given the post I replied to. I have nice razors 🙂

aluminum is bad esp antiperspirant, i got put in a hospital room with a boomer farmer dude who had a double masectomy.
but the alzeimer’s link is ACKSHUALLY untrue. all the research behind it was fraudulent. its still bad for you but it wont give you dementia.

      >twist to open
The only kind I’ll buy is the twist kind because every few passes you can twist it open halfway and run it under the sink to unclog it, you don’t need to fill the sink or a cup of water to dunk it

    • Anonymous says:

It is twist to open, not adjustable though.

Aluminum is fine, actually. I think the metal you’ve been ingesting is lead

I’ve been using a Merkur 38C for more than a decade.
It will probably last my whole life, so don’t need to buy another razor.

I like this brand of Canadian cnc milled razor more.
Razorock game changer .68 is 316L stainless steel and $53 US.
    The bbs model is $69
    https://www.razorock.com/?ourproduct=razors
Still expensive but for a small manufacturer of cnc milled safety razors they are pretty cheap, lots of other enthusiast brands are well over the $100 mark

    • Anonymous says:

That said i can understand why some would prefer aluminum, its lighter and more maneuverable, some don’t want the extra pressure from the heavier steel

        • Anonymous says:

the razor blades themselves are some of the sharpest, if not the sharpest and highest quality on the market. their stainless steel DE razor they have is pretty expensive unless you buy it in Japan or through a Japanese exporter, and they are basically precision machined and hebrewel finished, very nice stuff, you buy once, use forever kind of thing.

Aluminium is probably only slightly above chocolate in terms of shittest material to make this out of. You want something with a nice amount of weight so it feels good in the hand and glides better. I have a couple of vintage Gillettes and theres Definately a sweet spot in terms of weight.
Not to mention, extremely cheap for a vintage one unless you get into specific collecting
    Continue to buy ads Salah

I have one. Only safety razor I own. Not sure it how it ultimately compares to others but works fine. Very rarely cut myself (to my surprise).
I’m Canadian so I feel a bit better of myself for the price since I at least support a fellow leaf. Not sure I’d buy this one again though.

Yep I bought one, thought of all the money I would save, saw some video which compared lifetime savings of using one these vs the disposable gilette 5 blade cartridges.

Anyways I used it for about 3 weeks before I realized it is not worth it and went back to the gilette disposable cartridges

Can you get as good a shave with a single blade Henson as you can with a 5 blade disposable cartridge? Yes. Is it as easy to? No.

You have to properly clean and store these. You have to painstakingly prepare your face with shaving cream. You have to carefully and methodically run this over your face at proper angles and tilt to get a precision shave. You have to do two full shave runs over your face to get as close a shave as what a gilette 5 blade disposable does in one.

Basically I was spending more than twice as long shaving with the Henson as I was with Gilette to get an equal shave. You will save money using Henson, but for me, that money is not worth the time it adds to my morning routine.

I believe the life times savings of using a Henson vs Gilette amounts to ~$3,000. But that is assuming you use a Henson blade for 5 shaves. I found that the single Henson blades became quite dull and less effective after only 2 shaves.

Time is money, $3,000 over my lifetime isn’t worth the extra time it took to shave in the mornings.

Something I only noticed after I realized these things aren’t all that great, all the people espousing how great they are online tend to be neckbeard onions millenials. You ever notice that? I think the people talking about how great these things are tend to be low T dorks trying to adopt "manly" behaviors to make up for their lack of testosterone.

I use the Henson to shave my ass and balls now cause I still have 80 blades that I don’t know what to do with.

Uh oh touched a nerve. Did you have a whiskey phase too? IPA’s? maybe some boots and suspenders? A period of your life where you were way too proud of being able to cook a medium rare steak?

    • Anonymous says:

Unironically same. Not sure if this is exclusive to the Henson or all DE razors.
The Gillette just werks and I value my time over the extra expense of cartridges.

You deserve to suffer the regret of this purchase. What the hell were you thinking getting muh aluminum in the first place? I see this I see a razor worth $5 because I know how cheap and easy it is to make aluminum. Also look at the people who own the company. The owners a fat heck and the rest look like grifters and scammers.

I don’t understand what your thought process could have been. Why did you get it and what about it made you get it? How did you go about deciding ‘yep, this Henson Looominum for $70 is the ONE’ ? You sound low IQ and probably fell for their marketing bs. If you admit this I’d respect you.

Depends on how thick your growth is. If youre an Italian then it ain’t gonna be a good time, especially with the henson since it is purposely an unaggressive razor (tiny opening for blade – easier to use for most people but bad for rly thick beards). Also you can use regular shaving cream with if you want lol. You can also use soap and brush with a Gillette

    • Anonymous says:

Henson dropped the ball by not marketing this as a razor for women honestly. It’s good for legs and arms and stuff but it’s not gonna cut it for the average bearded guy

I’ve tried my brother’s and it is very nice to use. Different from my vintage stainless and brass ones but nice. I won’t buy one because I have the vintage ones from my grandfather but it works well.

just chiming in to say you don’t necessarily need to do 2-3 passes with a pricey razor, shaving cream and whatnot.
I’ve got pretty thick med beard hairs and just yesterday I shaved my 3 day beard under a hot shower with a fogless mirror using some cheapskate de safety razor from amazon and feather blades. All I did was one pass against the grain without shaving cream and I had no irritation whatsoever, only one minor cut. Before that I used a mild facial cleanser from cerave.
Make sure to do this at the end before stepping out of the shower so that ur hairs get soft from the water/steam. There is also nothing stopping you from using a shaving cream in the shower obviously, but for me the hot water and the mild cleanse was enough. Make sure you don’t cleanse with anything too aggressive so that your skin does not get overly sensitive.
Only downside is that it likely only works well with hot water, so during summer I’d probably switch over to a regular shaving cream + gilette disposable routine. Generally I think it’s good to own multiple razors for different occasions.

I bought one after hearing about the CEOs history of hate crimes and I thought that was pretty cool but on my first use I slipped and accidentally circumcised myself and then a rabbi turned up and ate it. 0/10, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Hes a fat liberal. You’re just false flagging in hopes the le based 4chinners will react impulsively and buy.
