I had the same trajectory as
2 hours of work might not be the norm, but a lot of remote jobs result in short days if you're efficient and don't have to be on calls (or get tracked) all day.

I am a brilliant genius and 100% essential to the survival of my boss' business. Also we don't have an office, everyone is remote.

I was a software engineer during the coof so we were forced to implement everything required to work remote. Now that the expense of doing that is already spent why would we not use it? We are also stuck with our current office building for a few more years but we wanted to expand and it was full so this also solved a secondary problem for us. There isn't even room for me to go back if I wanted to now, too many people with jobs that work better in the office now taking up the space. I still work and get just as much done as I had before, so long as you are being productive there is no problem. It's not so much that I only work two hours as it is a lot more convenient to do other things like wife hands me a baby for a few minutes, I go walk the dogs, lift weights, mess with garage project, etc. in between working. Just make sure you're available for meetings and your schedule is whatever works.

Bust your ass in college to get a degree in a normie filtering field like math or computer science. I also commuted to the wage cage for 6 years before the Wu Flu made things remote.

This, college was fucking hell as a stemcel. No parties no girls just grinding and autistic loser classmates. Also suffered panic attacks and constant anxiety. Now that its over im glad I did it because I have a comfy as hell job where I sometimes work 3 or less hrs a day with 4 days wfh while I make more than double the average wage in my country. My life still sucks but if I had to bust my ass off 8 hrs a day for a wage that covers basic expenses I would jump head first under a bus

I actually dropped out of college 4 years ago because I was a 19 year old incel who didn't know how to socialize. I could've had a CompSci degree by now, but only starting just now at 23. Still a little socially awkward. Oh well. It is what it is.

No such thing as 2 hour job unless you are giving out flyers or something dull.
Even being your own boss takes considerable amounts of time.

Worked 25 a week making 250k CDN in commission commodity sales. House was 10 min from the office and 3 hour lunches was the norm. Played lots of vidya.

I work customer service for a state government, in a department that handles a recently imposed tax. Some days I only get 5 or 6 calls during my 8 hour WFH shift, my calls average 12 minutes or so. I waste a lot of time on this website, but I also read other books, practice music, and am trying to build the habit of doing several reps of bodyweight exercises throughout the day, such as side planks - 1 minute each side, every hour of my shift. I don't make much money, but I get to cuddle my 14 year old dog numerous times through my shift (she hangs out by me most of the time)

Sit at my desk 8 hours a day do general IT shit with AD and servers but honestly spend 2-3 max actually working. Boss wanted to promote me which would have meant way more work and responsibility and I showed no interest.

You can tell who has never worked in an office from the seethe. A days work in the office involved about 6 hrs of bullshitting, socialising, toilet breaks, lunch breaks, bi-hourly walks and procrastination. Some days I do literally nothing. So when covid came and I could smash my days work out in 20 minutes then do nothing all day, it's what I did. And it's what I've continued doing ever since.
There is the odd day I need to work or a project every 3 months that takes a week of actually working. But besides that I'm chilling.
I'm working right now, shitposting from my couch in trackies.

I have one. I'm technically WFH right now, but it's 9:36 am and I'm just lying in bed. I'll probably go for a shower in a while, grab a coffee, play some overwatch 2. It's good but my salary is ass (€46k) so yeah...

    I quit.

    >how do you guys have wfh jobs where you only work max 2 hours per day?
ok honestly the truth is i worked very hard in my 20s and none of it mattered because i got lucky with BTC/ETH

now i pretend like speculation is my job, but really i sit around and play vidya because opportunity comes in waves and now is not the time to be taking big swings so i sit in fixed income funds and wait for better days.

sorry for everyone who fucked up the last 5 years. work hard for another 1-2 years and you too can maybe pretend to work from home

I’m a program manager. I run the program we work on. I manage a lot of people. If I prepare the work correctly, those people will basically just get on with it with no problems. Otherwise, my role is about building and maintaining a knowledge network on the program, so that over time these people can help each other out and make good decisions. It’s a big organization and the program itself is well established, so there’s rarely any urgency. Unfortunately, it probably won’t last that much longer, but it’s been a nice long run.

Sometimes I do very long and intense days when I’m working on some new initiative, but I’d say I could do all my work in ~3-4 hours per day for the most part. If it gets more than that, I find a solution to make it less. Also, since I am le epic ideas guy, I am basically in charge of the other managers on the team and can get them to do the menial work.

It’s probably luck for the most part. But I do believe you need to manifest your wishes into reality through sheer will. I transformed my program into something completely different (and better). Everyone has more freedom, ownership etc. because I cut out anything pointless. Fortunately, the previous senior person moved onto something different. It wouldn’t have been possible if she had still been there, because people like that can’t stand abstract ideas or not having control, meaningless data, trackers, and so on, to rely on.

There you go, that’s my story.
