How do people feel no spirituality? Since my earliest memories I was filled with spirituality with everything around me.

How do people feel no spirituality? Since my earliest memories I was filled with spirituality with everything around me. And when I go out into nature, I feel an intimate connection with the divine. I’m a Christian by the way. Am I just a schizo?

Well there is the objective truth and I don’t think any church has a perfect understanding of it, although some are better than others. So I’m not part of any institution.

well of course but what about particularism?

I’ve examined particularism but it seems illogical so I don’t believe in it

what do you find appealing about universalism?

I’m not a universalist. Many people deserve to go to hell and followers of some religions are far more likely to go to heaven than others.

    >Am I just a schizo?
Probably. I consider myself religious on a purely intellectual level (I believe in God and try to live as if God exists), but I never really felt spiritual. Even praying seems so strange to me. Maybe it's because I was raised as an atheist.

"Spiritual experiences" are just run of the mill emotional responses that you're miscontruing as spiritual because you're so mentally and emotionally invested in your religion.

      >How do people feel no spirituality?
I just don't feel it. I can go into nature, cathedrals, churches, etc. and don't feel anything "divine". I appreciate the beauty of those places and the importance they hold as institutions but that's about it.

This is like the "do you see things in your head" or "do you have an inner voice" threads that were floating around, and like them the issue is that "spirituality" is very nebulous term, people who claim to experience it don't agree on what exactly it is, and people use different metaphors when they describe what goes on in their heads.

      probably these

Only moment I feel connected with the universe is after some meditation or when I coomed super hard.

In the immortal words of Bob Dylan, "Music was always my spirit guide. I loved the gospel, the hymns, they spoke to me while I never got a single thing from sitting there in a church or a synagogue listening to a guy talking for hours."

Yeah music is truly nice. I have a few church songs I like to hum on occasion.

That’s pretty normal. I’m agnostic and I feel the same way about nature.

Everyone knows spirituality exists, it's just people that hate God that don't want to acknowledge it so they can continue in their evil spirits.

It’s not that Christian’s don’t feel spirituality towards nature, it’s that earth is fleeting and suffering. So they go to where God is with the light in the indoor home. Even if there is suffering in there, too, there is still the light of the burial and the resurrection. Earth just makes us sad as we watch all the destruction of our food that we grow, and the animals. You need poison to keep your home safe from insects, and you need armor on everything from wires to water lines and stuff to keep vermin from chewing it all up and turning your house dark and destroying the water, the garden too.
If you make friends with a vermin or a bird, you’re just causing trouble for those small animals, and they will think they can befriend a predator, and then they will get eaten. Now you are going to be sad because you allowed yourself to get so close to a small rodent or other animal. Have fun with all the aniihilated devastation and utter despair and burying your closest friends.
Some day I’m heaven we will be able to turn again to a new earth and enjoy it.

The beauty of nature demonstrates God’s grace, even if it has been temporarily corrupted by the Fall.

Seems like there is an echo in here.
        >Sound vibrates and comes back and says the same thing because it is saying the exact thing as the original sound waves

I’m a former Christian, now agnostic, and my the spiritual experiences I get in nature are more powerful than any I’ve ever had in church.
Nature evokes positive emotion and fascination in many or most people, and mine are quite intense. A walk in the forest, a day on the lake, tons spent with an animal, a clear night sky out away from light pollution these are borderline psychedelic experiences for me.

I don’t think there’s a strong distinction between nature and a good church. That said most of the churches where I live suck ass. Don’t get me wrong the people there are usually very kind and friendly, but I feel nothing. So I was lucky with being exposed to a good one.

No man made building is as beautiful to me as a green valley with a river, or the sun rising over a foggy lake, watching birds play jumping between branches in the forest, a red buck walking by or the Milky Way on a new moon.
        It’s just incredible.

People Think they’re not spiritual. But then they have tattoos full of symbolism, or associate their identity to sport teams or cosplay as movie characters, etc

White people feel a connection to nature. It's why non-whites get confused over doing stuff such as just sitting out at nowhere doing nothing.

I have no where to direct it. I feel some spirituality when I am in nature, or when I read the Bible but I am not able to draw conclusions from that. I don't get any revelations or words I can describe, so it's really just a fleeting thing.
