How do I get into metal?

I know the obvious-listen to metallica, iron maiden, pantera, megadeth etc.. I do, I mean I did listen to some of their albums not all of them but honestly I kinda get bored listening to Metallica in one sitting and pantera would be much better band for my teenage self. Lately I’ve been listening to ensiferum, they’re kinda fun I guess, but it seems I can’t find the genre that really sits with me. I mean I can listen to specific album of specific genre and find only 1-2 songs that I like others get boring too fast, so anyone been in this lost musical mindset? I also like Elend a lot and I know they’re not metal, anyway pic related I guess

Deathspell Omega are huge fans of Elend and have probably worked with them, as the ending of this song kinda indicates. This is literally the closest thing to "Elend, but metal" you can find anywhere

For a more ambient/noise take, you might like La Torture Des Tenebres

You've already listened to all the best (and worst) of metal, check these two albums and if they don't click then you'll have to move on

      >if you don't enjoy listening to a bunch of homos wanking over a poorly made backing track you won't like metal
While I appreciate your attempt at satire, you're gonna have to try harder.

Elend sounds like symphonic, gothic, and ambient to me.

I don't really fuck around with neoclassical, but Yngwie Malmsteen comes to mind.

You can try Unto Others - Mana for something gothic.
Therion - Vovin or Kamelot - Black Halo for something symphonic
Ambient metal like Paysage d'Hiver could be interesting for you, or maybe something like Sunn O*~~ - Black One. Burzum - Filosofem was the first extreme metal album I ever enjoyed.

There's also a slightly 'epic' sound. You might enjoy the high energy in power metal like Gamma Ray - Land of the Free. Could also try out the lutes and flutes with black metal of Summoning - Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame.

If you don't get anything from these albums, I think you just won't/can't enjoy metal.

When it comes to neoclassical, Helstar released one hell of an neoclassical metal album.

jump to dissonant death metal, atmospheric black metal, or grindcore. you'll end up in one of those three spots, so might as well figure it out now

Depends on what you are looking for really.
Try Sabbat. They are imo one of the greatest and criminally underrated metal bands of all time.

What have you listened until now?
And what exactly are you looking for?
There's a fuckton of subgenres, you're bound to find something you'd like
Though if you have a problem with vocals that's gonna make it harder
