How do I cope with the fact that my ancestors were colonized by smelly Frenchmen for three centuries?

The isles were the cum dump of more than just the Normies. Why do bongs single them out when they seethe over their own ancestry?

Except this isn't even unique to England, the fixation on that one island comes purely from Monolingual Yankeedom.
Spain was ruled by Celts, Romans, Vandals, Goths, Suebi, Arabs, and then finally by what we call "Spanish" (Castilians). France was ravaged by Celts, Greeks in the South, Romans, Burgundians, Franks, etc.
The Balkans needs no explanation. Everything from Illyrians to Avars to Magyars to Slavs has passed by that area.

So true! They were just genetically, culturally, and linguistically French! They spoke French for centuries in their posh castles while English serfies toiled in the fields to feed them.

Old Norse was no longer that useful to them.

As permanent settlers in Normandy, mostly doing business with other French-speaking regions, they adopted a form of pidgin French.

There was very little Old Norse influence on Norman French

          >In Normandy, the Norman language inherited only some 150 words from Old Norse.[3] The influence on phonology is disputed, although it is argued that the retention of aspirated /h/ and /k/ in Norman is due to Norse influence.[citation needed]

You can thank the French revolution for that, Before the late 19th century, a large part of the population was speaking Norman dialects.

Old french and old Norman are not the standard French language, because culturally,French did not become a national language until the 19th century, so if anything the Norman were speaking old French, but they wernt, they were speaking Norman

Do you realize how retarded you sound coping like this? Or do you have Aspergers or something? The Normans were French. They spoke French. They were culturally and ethnically French.

Come on, that's not fair. He may well be a Frenchman, but there have been so many waves of different conquerors leaving rape-babies and other forms of bastard across French history (everyone from Romans, Muslims, you Brits, and various waves of Germans) that at least SOME level of humanity must have rubbed off on their gene-pool by now.

Most linguists regard even modern Norman, including the dialects of the Channel islands, as a language.

OP is very obviously not English given that no actual English person gives a shit about Normans these days.
We're literally their descendants, Norman surnames are as generic as Smith or Brown

Everyone except Americans, and I think that has a lot to do with the way they interact with the world around them. It would probably do them good (or at least everyone else) if they experienced defeat at home by a foreign invader.

Americans are descendants of people who've been conquered.

Pretty sure America 'lost' or at least suffered the same ramifications as a nation whose lost a war. Cuba, Korea, Vietnam.
