How did Wellington become the most famous enemy of Napoleon? People often ignored Kutuzov.

Because 1812-1814 was mostly just a slow decline of Nappy while 1815 was one big final battle

Because kutuzov got played by nappy several times whereas wellington never got crushed as badly

Because our history is the result of British propaganda.

    >promise two nations that you'd help defend them
    >turn tail and remove a third of a million men from Europe after declaring war on Germany yourself
    >call this a "miracle"

    >lose twice as much tonnage and twice as many men at a naval battle in your own back yard against Germany
    >after initiating the battle itself
    >call it a draw

    >Bluecher tears across Europe fighting Napoleon and his marshals constantly for years
    >oh welp Wellington has some experience in Iberia that's just as good

A comedy if you think about it.

      initiating the battle itself
      >>call it a draw
If you're referring to Jutland, you're genuinely retarded for not understanding why the British came of as the overall winners. The Kaiserliche Marine failed to destroy the British fleet and break the blockade of Germany, and then they proceeded to spend the rest of the war trapped in their ports while the British Navy was denying Germany access to international trade. End result is Germans literally starving while Brits still had food on the table.
If you think a battle's result is determined by "KD ratio" then Germany must have somehow won the battle of Kursk kek

        >The Kaiserliche Marine failed to destroy the British fleet and break the blockade of Germany, and then they proceeded to spend the rest of the war trapped in their ports while the British Navy was denying Germany access to international trade

Two problems here. First of all, the Germans didn't initiate the fight. Look at Jutland on a map retard. You could tell it was a British idea if you read nothing else about it, but apparently you have not, because:

The Germans go on to use their navy in operations around the world, even in the Baltic where the British aim was specifically attempting to dominate.

Get off of my board and never open your mouth in regards to a historical discussion again you knuckle dragging, crayon munching, mouth breather.

          >First of all, the Germans didn't initiate the fight. Look at Jutland on a map retard
Yes, look at Jutland on a map, it's next to fucking Denmark. The British had control of the high seas and they kept it after beating back the Germans attempt to break that British domination.
          >Germans could still operate on the Baltic
No shit, the Russian Navy was a meme and obviously the British High Seas fleet wasn't going to try and enter the Baltic in force when it would require them to be hugging the German coast as they pass by the Danish Kattegat.
Germany was starved of resources because they couldn't break the British grip on the North sea. There's a reason why Fritz Haber received so much prestige from figuring out how to manufacture explosives without imported materials.
Germany lost at Jutland the same way they lost at Kursk in WWII, they couldn't break through and were kept on the backfoot, it doesn't matter how many of the enemy they killed.

      initiating the battle itself
      >>call it a draw
thats a stupidly simplified summary and you know it, or if you dont you will in a minute

Jutland is held as a draw by those charitable to the germans, strategically it was a clear defeat, with the germans concluding that they couldnt hope to defeat the grand fleet in pitched battle and that they grand fleet was not going to offer it the chance for defeat in detail

tactically it was slightly more mixed, as you say the germans sank more, although Seydlitz sank in dock and wouldnt have made it at all if the journey was 10 miles longer. But although the germans sank more they suffered far heavier damage in their surviving units and avoided suffering far heavier losses than the british only by running at the first sign of the grand fleet and not stopping running till they reached home, Scheers report made the hopelessness of the situation plain, he didnt think he could have won, and Jellicoes report was similar in that he lamented the germans escape.

the casualties that occurred were in the skirmish before the main clash of fleets

      >promise two nations that you'd help defend them
      >turn tail and remove a third of a million men from Europe after declaring war on Germany yourself
      >call this a "miracle"
well yeah, the british army in france had agreed to conform to a french overall plan, the french generals fucked up and left the BEF and a portion of the french army badly out of position and in a pocket, given a choice between withdrawing via sea or being trapped and destroyed in the pocket for no useful end the british evacuated, they were reorganising to land - probably in northwestern france right up until the french surrendered in fact several units had been sent over and had to be hastily withdrawn, its also worth noting that the units the british left behind fought to the last bullet.

you obviously dont think about it.

blucher had experience, Wellington had experience, Bluchers experience was a series of defeats for most of the time, and was largely operating in defense of his own nation with a steadier supply of material and men.

Wellingtons experience was 6 years of war at the ass end of a long supply line with limited men and material uncertain allies and some pretty nasty terrain, he managed to go from staving off the invasion of portugal to invading france in that time, smashing several french armies in the process.

Blucher was a good general, Wellington was objectively better having gotten more done with less resources.

        Your entire post is wrong.
Britbong navy constantly supplied its army on the peninsula, and Lisbon was an impenetrable fortress which was the main supply base with Portuguese happily providing Wellesley with resources.

Blucher thought he was pregnant to an elephant, and just stood his armies infront of napoleon and said shoot me bro

Wellington hid his troops to avoid artillery.

Wellington is a footnote in the Napoleonic era, just anglos trying to make themselves feel more relevant than they are. When Napoleon was in campaign in Spain he actually btfo the brits and at Waterloo Wellington was saved in extremis by Blucher on a mistake of a french marshall.
The "other player" in his era was the Czar Alexander on the political field and on the military one it was Kutuzov.

Okay? Doesn't change the point, you retard. You obviously can't read or speak Russian so you don't consume Russian media or browse the Russian internet.
Are Americans incapable of reading British history books or British TV shows now? They still speak a common language, you stupid cunt.

    >Kutuzov
The guy who lost a bunch of battles against Napoleon during the third coalition, ran away from napoleon in 1812, lost in Borodino (Sorry, "won in spirt" or whatever) leading moscow to be burnt. Sure he did alright while napoleon was retreating from russia, but then he died anticlimatically before lepizig and the final defeat of napoleon.
Wellington meanwhile has the prestigious position of fighting against Napoleon in his last battle, (something that was going to be famous no matter what happened) then later became Prime Minister of Britain

Kutuzov used very gay strategy of winning the war of attrition instead of winning KINO epic battle.
