How did this even come out in 1971?

How did this even come out in 1971? I mean this was the time when bands like Led Zeppelin or The Beatles were active and they managed to completely btfo them with just their 2nd album.

I am sorry but this is a 10/10 and if you rate it even a decimal lower, then you are just a filtered pleb.

    1. It is their third album, Soundtracks was their second album and first with the Japanese dude. Good listen
    2. Listen to more krautrock and jazz fusion. Bitches Brew is a year earlier.

I love Tago Mago but there's far more mindblowing/more experimental rock albums from the early 70s out there.

i mean it may sound shocking to you if youve only listened to Beatles,, Zeppelin and other mainstream rock of the time... but it pretty clearly and understandably fits right in with trends of pschedellic music, free improvizational music, and avant garde musics of the time. you saying its unbelievable for the time just suggests you need to hear more music from the time and before so you can fill in the gaps...

oh I see this is one of those 10/10s that if I rate even just a decimal below that I get accused of being a pleb and "just not getting it/filtered"

I love Amun and Peeking O tbh,but this does not negate that both CAN and Led Zepplin basically started the same year and stopped making music sharply in The Late 70s.

LED ZEPPLIN AND CAN WERE LITERALLY ACTIVE FOR ABOUT THE SAME EXACT TIME

THE BEATLES STARTED IN THE EARLY 60S AND WERE WINDING DOWN BY 1968,THE YESR THAT BOTH LED ZEPPLIN AND CAN CAME INTO EXISTENCE.

led zeppelin were about as groundbreaking as Can even if they were significantly less good tbh

House of The Holy was about on psr with but it's easier to listen to an entire CAN Album because relatively little filler. That not being able to do Blues Covers thing.
