How can a company that mines the earth for rare metals, uses refineries for production, pumps out annual versions of products that aren't needed, makes their products hard to repair, ships them all over the world, throws millions of batteries into the trash...supposedly be on track to achieve net zero environmental footprint in the next few years? is tim cook sucking it all out of the air?

probably recycling and renewable energy. Though recycling itself uses resources and energy

Recycling is the biggest meme next to climate change. Imagine convincing people to strew their indestructible products across the planet in a way that makes sure that microplastics impregnate every square inch of the planet.

      >Though recycling itself uses resources and energy
Yeah, more than simply mining and making an new product. Now you have to invest resources and develop specific ways of planned obsolescencing your product can be legally thrown in the trash.

how the fuck iare carbon offsets fucking real
      >yeah bro there's this facility in the middle of the ocean that recaptures carbon for us, no you can't go see it πŸ™‚

also what the fuck does it mean that the one product is carbon neutral? is carbon dioxide not fungible? that's like saying you don't evade taxes on the one product

They forgot how the carbon cycle works. They genuinely believe that water doesn't condense it back into carbon/fertilizer for plants. They even believe that this inert gas causes more greenhouse effects than water vapor itself. They only tie it back to CO2 because that is the first sin of their backwater religion and by default you emit CO so you're a defacto sinner who has to pay for their crimes.

all modern "green initiatives" are just greenwashing

there is no such thing as an eco-friendly computer company, but the alternative is a world with less (or no) technology, and the neoliberal establishment is unwilling to give up the tools that enslave us

    they wouldn't need propaganda otherwise

These people are allowed to drive, vote, and have children.

Because it is all globohomo bullshit, and you should start realizing when you are hearing psyops bullshit made by corporations and individuals collaborating in satanic ploys

There are people who unironically think elections are real, and their voting power matters for anything at all.

It's all part of the ESG grift. Apple buys "carbon credits" from companies and that supposedly decreases their environmental footprint (despite the the fact the carbon reducing technologies producing these "carbon credits" would have done so anyway). Lower the carbon footprint, the better your ESG and the more likely you will be to receive loans, grants etc. from globohomo, making it a financial net positive to apple.

      Anonymous

can anyone explain this more. If apple "buys" carbon credits, isn't that a net cash outflow

        Anonymous

Apple and other companies are ESGmaxxing; ESG being a score, much like a credit score, which evaluates the companies social policies and environmental impact. The more progressive the companies policies, the higher the score. The score is then considered by banks, investment firms like vanguard and blackrock, hedge funds etc. when they make decisions to 1. Give a loan to a company or 2. Buy stock in a company. By ESGmaxxing through buying carbon credits they are increasing their appeal to large investors etc. who they get the capital from to fund new projects they don't necessarily have the liquid capital to fund themselves at that given time, allowing them to further grow.

It's a scam. They buy "credits" where companies launder their earth-raping industry practices by planting some trees that were cut down, that were going to be planted anyway. Then the logging companies cut them down and the cycle continues.

No, everyone knows this. Apple knows its a scam, the green credit people know its a scam. The government knows its a scam and doesn't care because of the legal bribery the US has.

Only people who don't know are the retards who unironically love apple. They are the blackest of naggercattle.

carbon dioxide is straight up good for plants, and our planet is going to the ice age in like a a shitton of years because our planet's tilt is going to make less sunlight hit the north and south pole, north and south pole grows ice, ice reflects sunlight, sunlight goes into space making the earth colder.
technically speaking though, too much carbon and methane is a problem, but in a few hundred years humans are going to be replaced by a superior life form that doesn't suffer from the same design flaws.
