Correct. Today at the grocery store I saw no less then 3 old men dressed exactly like op’s pic rel, suspenders and all. Nearly everyone was wearing some form of cowboy boot, old and young, and so many cowboy hats you become blind to them. Western wear is very normal in rural America. Not autistic at all.

Boots clacking sounds kino and doesn’t repulse anyone down here. Maybe in your yankee shithole but not in Texas. And there’s no place I’d rather be.

You have to be careful with western wear. Dressing like the 1880s while nice, will probably make you look extremely autistic. However, having a modernish western style will make you look good if you live in an area where it’s acceptable. Me personally, I like wearing vintage western shirts from the 70s-90s.
Here is a photo of someone from To Catch A Predator doing western wear completely wrong. This episode took place in New Jersey I believe, plus he’s extremely fat, plus he’s dressed like he stepped out of the year 1883, due mainly to the trench coat.
If he took off the big ass coat and lived in Texas he wouldn’t stick out that much other than being a hog.

mentions, with more modern pieces, it’s fine and unobtrusive. But as always, dressing differently then the culture you’re surrounded by will always come with some push back. Geographic location matters to. Suburbia in Texas is filled with shiny cowboys.

You already conceded defeat, but I can’t stop myself: Everything’s bigger in Texas, that includes our people.

have you ever even worn cowboy boots? they make a lound banging sound when you walk on anything but dirt. imagine walking into anywhere and everyone instantly repulsed by your loud clickety clack shoes.

Houston is the fattest city in America I love texas too but get real.

Alright so maybe Texas is fat. But at the end of the day we can all agree that unless you’re Doug Dimmadome, western wear doesn’t look good on fatties.

Yeah I was trying to not wear stupid trenchcoats like that. Mainly just pants and shirts with a hat and maybe suspenders.

BIG maybe on the suspenders. Could work but be careful.
