How are there over 100,000 classes for IT courses on Udemy and not a single one to teach how to build a log house? Is this censorship, or have we been bathed in so much materialism and modernity that this information is just dying?

Are you retarded?
Donnen Kruger: The post
Donnen Kruger 2: Posting harder
Dunning Kruger calling Dunning Krugers Donnen Krugers
ah, that explains it
Yeah, Shaniqua. There's a guy sitting out there censoring books about building log cabins.
jfc this fucking board since it let in women
Now THAT'S how you harvest (You)s.
>Now THAT'S how you harvest (You)s.
these days I'm not even sure if it's a smart dood trolling or a normie retard showing his true colours. I'm going for the retard option
don't you sip at me, breh, shit's fucked beyond all recognition. cats are seen eating dog food in the land and you just sip covfefe! how DARE YOU?!
My dad has a bachelor's in mechanical engineering and that's all he needed to build an entire porch and now a greenhouse in his back yard.
Just major in mechanical engineering
>an entire porch
>and now a greenhouse
wow! Proenneke smokes nervously in the corner. your dad sure showed them all!
All I want is to make beautiful buildings and help people but the israelites want me to stock shelves for Mr Goldstein 12 hours a day
Why do you need a formal system to teach you things like this? If you cannot look at a log cabin and use it as inspiration for how to build you own, you are not white.
This. Hindus and gatekeepers will seethe, but I’ve built stone houses, log houses, framed houses and laid roofs. If it can be done by day laborers for $5 an hour under the table it can be done by average intelligence people almost anywhere that had the environmental pressure to thrive.
>what is joinery
>what is hand tools
>what is materials preparation
JFC, you couldn't build a log cabin for a hamster if somebody handed you a 1960s Lincoln Logs set.
>have we been bathed in so much materialism and modernity that this information is just dying?
Pretty much this. The amount of niche trade jobs that are almost disappearing completely is astounding. Even basic things like creating fire with two sticks is barely taught and learned.
that wood looks really heavy.
>Thinks running to the woods and building a log cabin will solve anything.
Dick Proenneke did it alone
check out My Self Reliance on youtube. He shows step by step how to build log cabins
If you owned any land would they even let you build a log cabin on it?
How much do you think you could sell a log cabin for if you offered to build it for someone? Lumbers expensive
Stick frames suck
I want me some thick wood
Usually it depends on how big it is.
But its different everywhere, nobody is going to be able to give you an answer unless you specify what locality the land is in.
There are still some jurisdictions that let you do whatever the fuck you want, as long as you don't sell it without getting it up to code.
Some places though are far more strict because some douchebag council member doesn't like people getting shit done on the cheap and want the business to go to their cousin instead.
US Building Codes make them practically illegal in most states. If you build anything without permits the State will tear it down and arrest you for resistance.
Most people can't even log anymore let alone construct w it
Because IT is a computer task and can be taught on a computer easily. Building a log cabin is a physical task and can not be taught on a computer easily.
whatcha slidin, Schlomo?
I cant believe they dont have course on flint knapping either
The replies are interesting considering many types of older building materials have fallen out of use due to more modern insulation ideas, but still work very well. The houses that stand in france are 200 years old, and are still good. Most people don't know how to build them today. However, they are drafty, but they have no 'breathing' issues which some further insulated houses do today. The idea back then was you would heat/cool whatever room you were staying in...and that was it, rather than the entire house. Thus things like sleeping porches, cozy living rooms in fancy houses with sometimes a stove and a fireplace and more was necessary.
The real problem lies in the fact that these kind of structures are not built anymore commercially, most people don't know how to build them, the difference in materials, the massive monster that is building codes, and more. It's turtles all the way down.
