Here's a tip from a fellow apartmentgay. Get yourself one of those cheap folding camping wagons. They're awesome for hauling tools down to your car, and make it easy to bring them back inside if you're worried about people stealing them while you're taking a break. And since they fold they take up hardly any room when you're not using it. You can even throw it in your car. Total gamechanger for me.
I don't have a garage either, and I live in a cold-ass rainforest. If it snows I'm doing hobo shit lighting fires to keep warm while I work, and putting a space heater under the truck. If it rains I'm in rain gear. I feel your pain.
What's worse is when you used to have that... >Be me 2019 >Get orders to go to midwest >Not happy,BUT I buy a house. >Now I'm a home owner, and over got a 2 car garage and decent driveway for my multiple cars >It's my only happiness >FFW to current year >Left the military >Move back to home area to get job and buy house >Got a decent paying job >Haven't been able to find a house unless I want to live in the hood or an HOA hellscape where you have no yard/privacy >Been looking since March >As interest rates climb, I lose buying power >My budget shrank by 1/6th >No hope in sight >Now my project car has to sit in my parents driveway while I live elsewhere
34 this month, no credit card. I figure I'll never own a house or a nice car, so I don't give a frick.

Genuine question if you two are American - what happened in your life to where you made it to your 30s and never became concerned with credit? Did you never even think about financing a car? Never think about buying a house and simply googling the steps of buying one? In this world where Google is available I have no idea how you people don't know these things unless you are literally moronic
I feel ya
I got very lucky though and my landlord's mother rented me her garage a mere 15 minutes walk from home. Ask around maybe somebody wants to earn a few coins cause they don't use the garage much.
When I was still renting I stored a project car in my building parking space and parked my daily driver on the road.
I was never embarrassed to work on it though and the weather can't be bad everyday.
Cute. My son sleeps in a Cars bed with Cars theme bedding.
🙂
you'll get your own place, anon, save and keep (sigma) grinding.

Why don't you just rent a house instead of an apartment
Read the part of your lease where they tell you that you can’t even do that.

Can be all in for $20k and have plenty of land to store vehicles on and no bullshit.

Use a time machine and go back 15 years except don't be a moron this time
You open a credit card ASAP and start building credit.

You can get a loan for a house without credit. Its called Manual Underwriting and tons of banks do it.
