Historically speaking... How would the Russian civil war have gone if the Czech Legion had successfully mounted a surprise attack on Yekaterinburg 24 hours earlier and managed to rescue at least one of the Romanov daughters? Let's say Anastasia since she's the most popular. Would the Whites have rallied behind her for a Romanov restoration or was it too late to salvage the monarchy by that point?

Damn near everything wrong with contemporary Russia can be traced back to the Russian Revolution.

Russia would still have a lot of problems to deal with even under Nicky or even if Kolchak and Denikin somehow pulled off a win, I don't think it would be sunshine and rainbows

Wrangle was the only good ending that Russia could have gotten.

Obviously not, but Russia wouldn't the near the near-future almost present day post-apocalyptic nightmare world it is now either.

Yeah but compared to what the Soviets did, it would be heaven by comparison.

Probably the same as now tbh. The whites probably would’ve been more keen on western support but I don’t think it would be a deciding factor

Hey I've been writing for a dating sim for girls with a similar premise
Knowing about the leaders of the White movement, no. Their views on the monarchy ranged from opposition to ambivalency. No one was openly for a restoration of the Czardom, and I imagine a young girl being the prospective ruler wouldn't help at all.
Not only, France and Britain did not wish for a restoration, and conditioned their support to the disavowal of any such goals.

Nope, ultimately you have to be a subhuman slav to rule russia, and the Romanov were gentle Germans. Same reason why the first false dmitri was killed as well; not brutal enough for the animals.

Women couldn't inherit, the legal heirs after Nikolai II were Tsaryevich Alexei, then Grand Duke Mikhail Alexandrovich, then Grand Duke Kirill Vladimirovich (who survived the revolution and lived peacefully abroad). Saving a Romanov daughter was completely useless and a serious restorationist movement would have supported either Kiril as the most legitimate claim or Grand Duke Nikolai Nikolayevich, a more distant relation but with more popularity among military officers.

Another one of the Romanovs survive, and no it was already too late to salvage the monarchy. The Reds possess industrial capabilities of Russia as well as manpower whereas the Whites don't, the leadership of Whites were also god awful.

The eastern front was pretty fricked in terms of leadership but there were a lot of good generals and officers in the south and north
And even then, in the east there were real stand out stars like Gajda, Diterikhs, and Kappel to balance out the moronic thugs like Ungern-Sternberg or Semyonov or Lebedev

Cz legion didn't even have a beef with the Bolsheviks until a minor incident involving random uninvolved Hungarians (attacked by Cz legion, defended by Bolsheviks) ruined relations

To be fair the Hungarians had been radicalized by the communists while they were in Tsarist PoW camps, they were "uninvolved" only in that they might have preferred to fight for world revolution in Hungary first before fighting for it in Russia.

The Czechslovak Legion was not interested in fighting the civil war, they just wanted to go home. They would never have needed a romanoff unless it was to be used as a bargaining chip to hand back to the reds in exchange for safe passage

They sure killed a lot of commies for people not interested in fighting

Commies should have let them leave instead of disrupting their train journey.

There were quite a few Czech officers who wanted to stay and fight even if the soldiers largely wanted to just go home

Not nearly enough to outweigh the soldiers who almost certainly would have shot them if they tried to make them stay, and that wouldn't have helped the whites since they were already top heavy with officers and wouldn't' have respected them anyway.
