Excluding the Aghori, the way I have only experienced Hinduism as a very kind and loving religion, the festivals the food and the people have all been so welcoming. But I assume that like with every religion there is a dark underbelly to Hinduism, and I would like to know more about it. Weather it be a personal experience or a common ritual or a "secret" sect.
Hinduism is not a religion. It is an umbrella term - more accurately used as an ethnicity label - that includes many many religious traditions within it.
Many.if those traditions differ in understanding. Some directly and explicitly contradict each other.
There are polytheist, monotheist, and atheist Hindus.
Please be more specific about who you interacted with.
I'm not sure what specific sect it was, it was definitely shiva oriented, and polytheistic. I don't exactly understand why that is important for my question because I'm not just asking about the the group that have encountered.
Also how do I respond to an individual, I've been around for a few years but a lurker so I haven't commented all that much.
>dark side of Hinduism
>Not aghori though they're yucky
nagger thats the stuff, their are still aghori gurus because people understand that someone must mantle the darkest of the dark, people so distant from spirituality they actually roll back around to it, I would never follow the path of the Aghori but I respect those who do even with all of its grime
But like is that it?? Nothing else 🙁
I was hoping to find like a rabbit hole of stuff.
You mean like leaders that have murded and the like?
Sure yeah 🙂
I'm just looking for anything honestly.
NTA but cult leaders aren't Hinduism flagbearers

Then you should look at Aaiyyanism, specifically the left hand path tantric part of it. I've done the rituals in the dark in the mirror and experienced some freaky shit.

Can you share with the class? I fucked with some Vaishnavas at one point but they were like YOU HAVE TO TRAIN FOR 20 YEARS BEFORE ASTRAL TRAVE
Are you sure you didnt miss an emphasis?
Maybe they meant YOU have to train for 20 years.
This is a massive filter for westoids. It might not actually take 20 years but anyone not willing to commit to trying isn't worth teaching.
Thank you, I will check that out:3
Dude, they eat shit.
imagine a discussion about engineering materials. Most participants are students in a program, others are interesting in building something as a hobby or just appreciate learning how stronger materials are designed and created. Then there a few unhinged participants that wont stop asking how to use the principles and methods of materials engineering to fabricate weapons or dissolve strength in existing structures. To the other participants, they see this as antisocial, dangerous and bizarre.
There's an ongoing Osho thread in which it was brought up that he got 1000s of his followers to sterilize themselves, and most of these followers were white Europeans.
There's nothing dark. There's only cycles creation, destruction and in between. Some like to create, some destroy and most like to do the in-between stuff. And thus the ones who are chasing the dissolution of reality stay out of society.
In the end everyone knows that all of it is part of one big wheel. Nothing is dark.
the whole sati wife burning thing
