Combine it with turmeric and piracetam to take care of the beta-amyloid plaque buildup in the brain that causes Alzheimer's and/or dementia.

I was going to try it but ended up at a subreddit where many have reported horrific reactions that havnt gone away for years in some cases. Perhaps some kind of contamination or interactions with some other medication as most people don't have an issue taking it.

I just started a cordyceps extract in the mornings and Reishi at night and I'm getting results after only 1 week. I think functional shrooms are going to be essential for me going forward.

Maybe one day I'll get the balls to try lions mane but right now the above combo is working wonders. I have more energy, less anxiety, less joint inflamation, big improvement in gut health. Just stick to high quality extracts for much better bioavailability.

Someone's poisoning the well big time it sounds like, never heard of a negative effect from the half dozen people I've known taking it in the last 5 years or so.

      Odd.

If you really want something to improve your mental faculties, take magnesium and citicholine. They're both very safe dietary supplements that will likely correct deficiencies you didn't know you had. Also, just make sure you're getting essential vitamins, minerals, etc.

      I'm

I've grown it for years. It's sort of a meme right now because of the studies that show that it enhances brain function or has neuroprotective effects but I grew it not just because of that but more that it's a pretty good vegan substitute for shellfish or chicken as it is similar in texture when cooked.

It grows naturally all over the place in the North American continent in fall and mostly grows on maple or beech trees and logs.

You can buy spawn or spore from multiple growers and grow it yourself on logs or totems, it overlaps in preference for maple with shiitakes which is another popular culinary mushroom, so you can grow those two together from the same tree, though likely not on the same log as the mycelium would probably compete.

I would also recommend wine caps, since those are the easiest mushrooms to grow for beginners as you just put bury spawn in the ground in July and you cover it with sawdust and mulch then wait a month until August and they will fruit.

For medicinal purposes Reishi and Turkey Tail are other ones that you should look into.

These are toxic, and there is really no getting around the fact that they are toxic, though they're much safer than other amanitas considering they aren't deadly but the high they give you is considerably different than a cubensis high, they're classed as "psychedelic mushrooms" but their method of action is more of a delirient, so in that respect pharmacologically they most similar to Zolipidem and hypnotics in that class, usually what Ambien is classed as. It's been used by humans for thousands of years to induce visions.

There are two active compounds in amanitas. You can process them into a tincture and remove the 'bad' compound which usually is the cause of bad experiences. Do not attempt to use them without doing this, there are plenty of good and bad resources out there on how to do it, so make sure to do your reading.
I know a woman who used them to get off alcohol and they very much changed her life for the better. I'm planning on trying them this summer once they start popping up here. Start small and space out your doses. If you got the processing wrong you don't want to end up with a crappy day.

I read somewhere that simply drying them out almost completely removes the ibotanic acid?

Very cool, I just got rid of my block bag a couple of days ago, and I"m probably just going to much it in with compost.

You can make a pretty acceptable substitute for scallops/chicken nuggets with it.

Since this is a board for schizos I guess I'll regurgitate some psychobabble from Stamets where he points out that mycelium in a sense is a collective consciousness not unlike how the internet is, and that it is often symbiotic with trees and other flora.

Very good yield. I'm growing Moringa for herbal tea. so that and maybe reishi-cordyceps might be a good combo.

I picked some reishi last year and they've been drying ever since. The pore side of them kinda smells funky which I've read is normal. Does the tea give any sort of feeling or is it one of those remedies of old that you just gotta believe is doing something?
